Just had a look and this horse cost £2k at the sales. If it costs £1000 to get 3% of her for a year, that means that the training fees work out at £31K a year!!!
Somebody is being ripped off I feel.
This really makes my blood boil.
Horseracing is an entertainment business and everybody employed by that business particularly trainers and jockeys need to remember who is ultimately paying there wages. It is the public.
If particular trainers and jockeys don’t want to talk to the press then perhaps part of the prize money they win which is provided by the public e.g. the levy, should be withheld.
Hold on a minute thats all of the prize money!!
If it makes you feel any better the first horse that I ever owned "Bookiesindexdotcom" was tailed off last in its first race which was also at Warwick.
Although she never won a race she wasn’t that bad and I had lots of fun with her.
I word of warning though Jockeys always say you’ll win a race with them, although Martin Dwyer once rode a horse for me, and after acouple of minutes of excuses and she’ll do better etc. He thought again and just came out and said "Actually to be honest she just isn’t very good!" which was refreshingly honest.
I’ve posted on here before on this subject. The rules are quiet clear that every horse has to be running to its merits to achieve its best possible placing.
Whether you restrain a horse at the back or send it off at an impossible pace at the front (like a pacemaker would) then you are breaking the rules.
Simple!
Interesting comments from the Cumani camp regarding Spencers ride of Curtain Call in the Derby.
His daughter mentioned in her diary in the Post that she was “surprised” at how early he stopped riding the horse, and therefore didn’t pick up any place prize money.
I suspect that its the owners who have seen the horses stud value decrease dramatically this year due to it yet to win a race as a three year old.
Coupled with what at first impressions looks like a weak Derby, they have forced Bolgers hand.
However I suspect that this will have been discussed for a while as I don’t for one minute believe that the horse was left in the race by mistake as has been claimed.

Yes he got caught out in Hong Kong in 2006 for a steroid which should have passed through his system long before but sadly didn’t. Hong Kong said a week before the race that the traces were absolutely minimal – hence Joe declaring the horse to run in the hope that he’d clear in time – but they were just too slow to clear on that occasion.
You talk as if the crime he is being accused of is not giving the drugs enough time to get through the horses system before the testing.
I think what Hughie Morrison is saying, and I agree with him, is its not right that horses should be running on drugs anyway.
The fact that the system is being used to the trainers and Takeover targets advantage is an irrelavance.
What is the sites address?
Already looks like there could be another rollover tomorrow!!
Southwells on Turf today.
On breeding being by Galileo, from the Sadlers Wells line he is definately a Derby type.
From a purely commercial point of view I can’t see them charging.
Revenue from gambling advertising is huge, and it might be surprising to people on here bit I would suspect the reduction in advertising revenue due to the reduction in unique visitors by charging, would be considerably more than the additional revenue they would receive from subscribers.
So in net terms they would be worse off.
I think this is great. I’m sick of this great mystique around these people who pull off massive betting coups by deliberatly losing beforehand.
The only word for them is Cheats. Wigham got exactly what he deserved.
Great News the BHA have finally given the go ahead for Great Leighs to open for action, with the first fixture to be April 4th.
I for one will be there!!
Hi Jim
Firstly as I stated I wasn’t talking about the bonus. I deposited £250 had one small bet and hated the site so wanted to take my £250 out. This they wouldn’t let me do.
Secondly when I did finally get to withdraw the money after lots and lots of bets, which much to my pleasure had now risen to £750 (I don’t think they understand E/W thieves!!) they did charge me £1.50 to deposit it back to my switch card.
When I took them off my site I had a quite senior person their contact me and ask me why. When I explained they said they would look into it and get back to me. When he did get back to me he said that what had happened was correct and that it was there procedure for every new account.
They wouldn’t let me withdraw my own money (not a bonus!) until I had turned the money over several times in bets. When I complained they blamed money laundering laws.
Obviously these laws don’t apply to other online bookmakers!!
I’ve therefore taken them off my site out of protest.
