The distaff side of his pedigree is not enough for him to stay middle distances to be honest. Sad if he has been sold as I liked the horse last year.

Ballydoyle has such of a battalion of older horses to be sure, though surely a speedier son of Montjeu would appeal to Coolmore?

Hoping they bring him out over 10f.

Thanks Andy, I am from Scotland and we have had our own issues with the Crown over the years or should I say we still do after the recent election swing!

My name was a combination of my affection for the wee OBrien horse Admiralofthefleet and a love of all things Navy, particularly the prestige and honour of the Battle of Trafalgar and the great Sir Francis Drake in the magnificent defeat of the Spanish Armada

In fact we started a theme of naming our horses after famous ships of the line and so far we have had Dauntless and Bellerophon. Next one I shall call Indefatigable, definitely going to be a mare as they really are all heart!

I do not really bet I just love watching the racing and studying the pedigrees and following the big names. I agree though the few times i have been into Ladbrokes in my life it is disturbing that you have to write your own bet slip I would have though a printed ticket would be more advanced!

I would not worry about those form doubters. Timeform have always rated horses that race outside of England and Ireland as inferior. How Canford Cliffs ever got a rating higher than the great mare Goldikova is beyond me. Blame only got 131 for winning all those G1s last year including the Breeders Cup Classic, the same as New Approach who won a Derby where no other horse won a G1 and a mickey mouse G1 at Newmarket.

I am not even going to mention Frankels 142 as it is clearly ridiculous. Cannot wait to see the so called "chosen one" turned over later in the season by the older mile division and everyone will turn around and say "oh he need further" blah blah blah!

The only thing that worries me about the filly is they seem to race her very often over there.

In terms of strong AUS form though look at Starspangledbanner not even the top horse in the country when he left and he came over here and dominated.

Keep faith and do not let the doubters get you down!

Most exciting young chaser has got to be Mon Parrain, won in a canter at Sandown over 3 miles so he gets the trip alright

Was so gutted when he got tired in the Topham and just lost out to a course specialist with a stone less and 5 years on him

Beautiful jumper and one I am definitely looking forward to see next season.

Fair point Montjeus have an excellent record in the Derby to be sure. Anyway I suppose we shall see after Sunday what Recital is up to!

Haha sorry good point Zarakava! So you are saying the Monteu-Kendor nick is better for short distances than Galileo-Silver Hawk?

They both seem equally as stamina laden as each other to my eye! World Domination and Carlton House on the other hand have much more speed in their pedigrees, though still very unexposed types.

    Dante will be exciting!

Ole – I accept hardly the biggest race of the season but surely one of the most satisfying for long time fans of this horse?

Aidan could have given up and sold the horse like they did with Archipenko, Eagle Mountain, Golden Sword, Joshua Tree, Beethoven et al. He is an amazing judge of a horse and he must have seen something in this one to give it a few chances.

It certainly made me happy to see the horse flying over the finish line and proceed to run away with Ryan!

He was just lovely, really pleased. Hope they do not try and run him over 10f again as 12f+ will be his dominion i hope

I doubt Big Bucks has the speed on the flat to win a G1 cup race even if it was over 2 miles.

Fair point re Fame and Glory he has always been a favourite of mine his consistency is second to none he has never run a bad race in his life. I read somewhere that he is a favourite of the owners, Mr Derrick Smith and rightly so the horse is a real genuine trier.

He may turn out in time to be GC winner I guess I am in denial still hoping he will become a top class 12f horse. To be fair he has won a couple of top G1s over that distance but he just lacks turn of foot at the end when the non stayers switch it up a gear and he plugs on at the same pace.

I am sure Rite of Passages win was a fluke, was gutted when he collared Aquarius
