Thanks Joni/Chaos, will be keeping an eye on TRF from my mobile from time to time, but just going to chill out for a couple of weeks…
Wow Mozu Ascot stole it at the finish, what a great race and further achievement for Frankel.

Off to see The King again on September 4th at Banstead Manor, all booked and this time it’s a whole day and I was surprised to read in the itenary that Lady Jane Cecil and her sister Sally Noseda will be taking us around on the Tour to meet Frankel. We meet at the Frankel Bar 9.00am and then off to the gallops and a well known stable, then lunch and then to Banstead Manor. Really going to enjoy my second visit and hope to get some good pictures of Frankel and see if he has changed at all since my last visit. Jac

Really enjoyed the day when I went to see the great horse a few years back – morning on the gallops followed by a tour round Ed Dunlop’s yard and got to see the ill fated Red Cadeaux in one of their spa treatment units.

The day was then rounded off by the tour around the peacefully tranquil Banstead Manor to see the great one himself and the other Juddmonte stallions.

How did you book those trips Jac/LD73?

By the way, does anyone know why AOB keeps running Rostropovich on soft ground? It’s clear he doesn’t like it. Almost as if he doesn’t want the horse to be any good

Tonge – I went through the Discover Newmarket site here http://www.discovernewmarket.co.uk/tours/

Re: Rostropovich, they should have left him in at Epsom as the ground ended up being what he was wanting.

Thanks very much LD73. Agree about Rostropovich, especially as he was my Derby fancy. Not sure he’d have won but think he may have finished best of the O’Brien team

Could see him being an interesting runner in something like the Eclipse if the ground was quick or even a BC Turf

Hopefully he won’t have fallen completely out of love with the game by then. One thing about these Frankels though, they do seem to like a battle!

That trip sounds amazing Jac! I took the kiddies once – he is a sight to behold. A true legend.

I’ve said it before but French racing is really not suited to many of the Frankel’s. They need a strong gallop and long straight to get into top gear. The 3 today were all horribly one paced even taking the ground into account. A great win for Mozu Ascot though especially considering he hadn’t even raced this time last year. Would be lovely to see him in the UK one day.

You’ll have to do it again Joni you can never see enough of the great Frankel

    @Tonge
…LD has given you the Discover Newmarket Link which is where you will find the Frankel Tours. They could be all sold out for this year now as I just managed to scrape in at the last minute but would suggest that you ring them and say that you would like an early alert as to when the next batch of Tours will be released. They only do around 12 based around when Frankel is resting so best to register an interest to Discover Newmarket early.
    Good luck, it’s a great experience..Jac :rose:

Bit more info on The Tour Tonge.. :good:

It might also be a good idea to register an interest in Frankel tours on the Juddmonte site too, they will keep you updated on all things Frankel.

A very taking win by Elwazir tonight at Sandown but even more noteworthy was the run of Marechal Ney. Only finished 9th but missed the break by 15 lengths and looked a colt with huge potential.
