Gelding seems to have done the trick with Dream Castle. He could be worth following this year. Dubai Beauty didn’t seem to take to the dirt. Worth another chance back on turf, though I don’t think she’s the superstar we hoped for after her impressive debut.
January 4, 2019 at 12:20 #1391276To be honest Tonge I didn’t look close enough at her race at Meydan and thought she was running on the turf
. Think you are right that she is worthy of another chance back on turf as looked like she was getting a lot of kickback and was dropped back.
Dream Castle really appeals as a 5yo and as you say gelding him has done the trick so they might as well aim him high this year, definitely worth following and expect to see him out again at Meydan in 2-3 weeks

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!January 9, 2019 at 22:57 #1391983That’s an interesting piece Jack thank you
I’ve printed it off to remind myself how much I enjoyed watching Frankel’s first crop mature and win World approval
New King running at Chelmsford tomorrow 5.15 not much of a price but should win..
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...January 10, 2019 at 21:27 #1392061Yet another new Group winner for Frankel from his first crop. Simply Brilliant (originally Senator) won a Group 3 at Happy Valley in Hong Kong yesterday, in a nine furlong race worth £185,000 to the winner. Makes Frankel’s Black Type percentage and world-wide earnings look even better. As a five year old gelding racing in Hong Kong, Simply Brilliant has the potential to climb higher than his current fifth place (£740,000) in in the money-earning list of Frankel’s offspring.

Great news MV.New King ran 3rd at Chelmsford, not beaten by more than a length in 3rd, he just didn’t quicken at the finish like his dad.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...January 17, 2019 at 00:31 #1392716Nothing to do with Frankel himself more to do with his brilliant trainer, just like Frankel was named after the legendary Bobby because they saw he might be good there is a horse in India who was thought to be special as a yearling so they named him Sir Cecil.
Sir Cecil has now gone unbeaten in eight races most recently the 2000gns in Mumbai, he now heads for the Derby in India next month

All comers, all ground, all beaten
January 20, 2019 at 12:58 #1393094Eminent off to Australia. Must admit that I thought his retirement was premature as he always seemed capable of more than he’d actually achieved. I’d start off by trying a set of blinkers and a muzzle!
January 22, 2019 at 12:50 #1393249Sorry Tonge, have to disagree with you there, he has had heart problems and whilst they thought he was ok to race again he clearly was not on the evidence of his last run. I was pleased when they retired him so was M. Meade.
If the owners think he’s now completely cured from his fibrillating heart, then fine, but i doubt it.

January 24, 2019 at 15:46 #1393461I predicted big things for Dream Castle when he was beaten by Barney Roy in the Greenham. Well it’s taken a couple of years and the loss of his knackers but he is finally starting to show that talent. He has just hacked up in a Group 2 in Meydan and could be bound for Group 1 glory now.

January 24, 2019 at 16:59 #1393477He was amazing Joni, I’ve been playing on the Fantasy League this year with Tonge and a few of the others on here and we agreed he was progressing nicely.
Watched the race and he just hacked up and made it look easy
Jac
Hope you were on today Joni

I said to myself “she will blow this field away” and I got it right
February 2, 2019 at 13:28 #1394827An interesting article here that shows how, not withstanding the criticism he receives from some on here, Frankel is way out front and in a league of his own – http://jamesortegabloodstock.com/research/2016-first-season-sires/

February 2, 2019 at 22:58 #1394925He is not alone in his conclusions, i’ve read other articles than are saying the same things, everyone has their own opinion but stats do not lie.

February 3, 2019 at 00:05 #1394929I was watching The Trainer and the Racehorse again last night and just amazed at the time and patience that Sir Henry put into the care and training of Frankel without ruining his spirit.
All that Frankel is today is down to Sir Henry and his team and I so wish that he had been here today to read these articles and feel his heart swell with pride at the wonderful gift that he has given us…
and if that sounds slushy I don’t care…
