    CAS,
Firstly, I hope its a good ref tomorrow.
Secondly, looking at the odds, I like Southport HT Southend FT 2 @ 22s.
Sorry about that, but I see the Sandgrounders up and at em, for 45 mins then Southends experience and fitness to come through.
But deep down, I do hope you win and start singing Wembaley… :good:

    Thankfully Cobbs fixture free.

    Tomorrows losers for me are..
Brackley V Tamworth, home win 6/4
Leiston V Banbury Away win 9/5
    3@ 6s
    Correct scores
    Brackley 3-1 2@ 16s
    Banbury 3-1 2@ 20s
    Double 1@ 356s

Thanks. I just hope we get off to a good start tomorrow.

I see the logic in your suggested bet. Danns said he thought we showed Yeovil too much respect in the first half. I don’t think we will make that mistake again but as you say, there is a risk we can put too much into it too soon and then get tired.

The argument against that is we do have some quality we can bring off the bench now. It looked like the game was starting to get away from us against Yeovil but the subs, especially Lloyd and Gnahoua, turned the momentum back in our favour.

The other issue to consider is the weather. There is rain around and it is also going to be windy. The breeze usually blows right down the ground and can often be very strong, being so near to the coast. I wouldn’t be surprised if it influences play at some point.

With regards to the Cobbs new manager search one possible, Steve Evans appears to be ruling himself out.

Evans told the BBC: “I have spoken with the chairman (of the Gas) and said enough in that long telephone conversation for me to instruct the people that look after me to stop talking to three other clubs.”

“Secondly, looking at the odds, I like Southport HT Southend FT 2 @ 22s.”

You called it. I hope you backed it.

No real complaints. The referee was rubbish but we were second best and a bit fortunate to be in front at half time.

The second half performance was a bit disappointing, being 45 minutes away from a final and attacking our own end. I don’t think Southend were anything special but their edge in experience and knowhow told in the end.

Sorry for the prediction CAS, but Southport have showed what they have with the screen in the park event. So the future must be brighter going into next season.

My only win in recent weeks, Southport HT Southend FT returned 46.

    Ongoing -174.

I see the FA Vase is over two legs, unlike the FA Trophy. Im failing to understand the logic in that, would have been better for the Trophy also over the two legged semi final.
Quite fancy Punjab Utd to reach the final, but no bet, just like the team name.

The Trophy semi finals were over two legs until 2019. I am not sure why they changed, presumably to ease fixture congestion for the National League/NLN/NLS teams that were likely to be the semi finalists.

Some of the Tier 5 and Tier 6 teams in the Vase are in leagues with only 18 teams and presumably can accommodate an additional game more easily.

Well Cobbs had two or Three cracking chances in the first 10 mins. Then the normal, conceded and lost.
Brackley, well another red card, I wonder how much longer Alan Leighton (big boss of Asda and EX Post Office) will continue funding this shower of crap.
Banbury joined the ”lets get a red card and loose club”, so a great Good Friday.

New BBC Five live Pundit Kev Nolan, former Cobbs Boss just claimed he would have kept us up if the Chairman kept faith…Err no chance, rumours he liked a bevey too much and missed training are abundant.

It is looking grim for Brackley, I am sorry to say. It looks like Morecambe will join them in NLN next season but fair play to Jim. He has given it everything. 4-2 over Rochdale, another of his old clubs, was an incredible result.

A great win for Southport. It was good to put those Crosby upstarts in their place! Now we can enjoy the last five games of the season. We should also have a say in the title race, with our visit to Fylde on 18th April.

Tranmere lost again. They really need to turn it around quickly, otherwise it will be the National League for them.

Last chance saloon for Brackley today with Boston visiting. Some locals are questioning the clubs ambition by not going full time. The cost of running the club is mainly paid by the benefactor, without him, Brackley would be back in the Southern League. Dont bite the hand that feeds you and enjoy the present Id say.

Cobbs home to Wigan, with the away side just 3 points above the relegation zone. Could the Cobbs take them down too?

Banbury away to Harborough town, the home side are in touching distance of the Southern League Premier Central Division.

    Correct Score PAT
    Harborough 3-0 8s
    Cobbs 3-1 28s
    Brackley 3-1 22s

Finally, Cobbs correct score 4-1 1.5@80s

Southport 4/9 tomorrow to beat Leamington. I can’t remember the last time we were priced up that short!

It was good to beat Curzon Ashton on Monday. They stuffed us 4-2 just after Christmas, when it should have been 8-2. Back then, they were on the fringes of the play offs and we looked like relegation candidates. What a difference a few months makes.

Curzon have had issues off the pitch and are in freefall. I think they could get relegated, especially after Hereford beat Marine on Wednesday night.

It looks like Southport will renew their old rivalry with Morecambe next season. Jim has given it his all but it looks like it won’t be enough. If they had appointed him about half a dozen games earlier, it might have been a different story.

I can’t remember the last time we played Morecambe in a competitive match. There was never much love lost between the two teams, so it might be a spicy encounter after all this time. I wouldn’t be surprised if it is the Boxing Day or New Year’s Day fixture, with the reverse match at Easter.
