These things do happen from time to time. Hopefully he makes it. Have a decent bet on at 3/1
December 6, 2017 at 12:31 #1330629To be fair to mullins he did say on sunday, that he had a few crucial pieces of work to get done with douvan before theyd confirm he was coming….. left the door open enough id say…
December 6, 2017 at 13:01 #1330631Such a cruel game. Although am incorrect in assuming that it doesn’t take much to move these markets 4 days out?
December 6, 2017 at 13:35 #1330638perhaps not as straight forward as it would first seem. Big old drift from odds on out to 3/1 in the space of a couple of hours, then back into 6/4 with some, now market suspended with a number of bookies.
either way the 11/1 UDS has gone, so im feeling quote good with ante post FN and 11/1 UDS, but could be regretting it all in a couple of hours at this rate.
December 6, 2017 at 16:34 #1330663Fox Norton and the others have shortened with everyone trying to second guess Mullins. Their prices would look a bit crazy if Douvan was pulled.
A fairly reputable tipster recommended a max EW bet on Fox Norton today – 2pts EW at 5/2 – price shortened up considerably shortly after. Makes sense when you think about it, he’s in cracking form and if no Douvan then you’ve got a helluva price, if Douvan runs then it’s hard to see him out of the first three. Not that I backed it myself mind.

Not much atall, plus someone coming onto the exchanges and laying him 2/1 is enough for bookies to react how they did, its been quite a few hours since the drift with no confirmed news, if he had a setback, you would probably know by now, its likely hes still going to run id say at this point, hes almost back into fav on the exchanges…
Usually when there going to be pulled they would slowly drift until it was obvious, it wouldnt contract back in
December 6, 2017 at 16:55 #1330669Hard to know what’s happening really.
Last night I felt almost 100% sure Douvan would run. This morning I felt 95% sure he wouldn’t. Now I feel 75% sure that he won’t. It’s a mess.
More to it than just exchange movement but that is probably the most visible sign the betting public gets to see.
Mullins really is a troll. Can he get to any major race without a drama? Acapella Bourgeois last week, Douvan’s in-out-shake-it-all-about this week…
No doubt he’ll enter all of his horses in every conceivable race until the last moment and be the last trainer to submit jockeys for his horses – as always!
December 6, 2017 at 17:01 #1330670But he is constantly asked about his top horses every time he has a winner. It is everyone else that makes the drama out of it. He clearly said at the weekend that Douvan will go to the tingle creek IF he works well this week. If he hasn’t worked well, he won’t go. No drama in that at all, it is everyone else who creates the drama

Of course, ladbrokes commenting “fox norton smashed up” is probably aload of rubbish for a start, people as soon as they read that feel happy to hammer him at 11/8 but wouldnt touch him at 5/2,in the morning…
Cant knock mullins for being honest he said midweek acapella bourgois wasnt certain runner yet, thats plenty notice, he gave plenty warning on sunday that there was still “crucial” pieces of work to be done
These horses are not cheap to buy/own/train, you cannot knock them for doing whats in the best interest of the horse, thats antepost betting, everyone has the vautour scenario embedded in their memory, they shouldnt. This is different.
Not sure what people would rather with mullins, total silence and do as he pleases, or a bit of straightforward talking “they might not run yet” “he needs to pass his next test during the week to be confirmed”
December 6, 2017 at 21:01 #1330707Douvan Drifted again back out to 2.44 on the machine.
December 6, 2017 at 22:30 #1330722Now nearly 2.7
I’ve back Douvan but this ain’t great from Mullins again. Thankfully I’ve snaffled some of the 7/4 on FN who is now trading 2.34 on the machine. Willie this ain’t great man
December 6, 2017 at 22:59 #1330729What did mullins do ?
I dont see why going out to 2.7 means he wont run? Is that a fair reflection of his chances? With the question marks, probably…… if he slowly walks out to 3-4-5/1 then you know your fate, but as of now i dont see the issue..

What did mullins do ?
Failed to refresh Oddschecker every 5 minutes throughout the day and night today and give us live updates from Douvan’s stable in response to every market shift. Poor show.
December 6, 2017 at 23:12 #1330735I’m actually surprised Douvan was even considered for this on his first run from injury. I would’ve taken the easier option and sent UDS here.
We will see which one comes.

If Douvan is fit and well then every option is easy.
December 6, 2017 at 23:28 #1330739‘The big horse gets on the boat, that means he’s headed for the Tingle Creek’. that’s what Ricci said On The Line…’That seems to be the target Willie was very clear on that’
If he goes anywhere else Ricci will once again proved himself to be a disgrace…if it’s a setback and he doesn’t run at all then fair enough, it’s unfortunate but these things happen and I’d wish the horse well…
And of course, I still really hope he turns up and proves the hype right…
December 7, 2017 at 00:02 #1330743youv taken a piece of the quote and not the whole quote, he never confirmed, he said it looks like it, that isnt a definite…..
People hear what they want to hear clearly, go and watch his interview on sunday, chapman presisted on trying to get a definite and mullins would not commit because it wasnt a definite at that stage and mullins highlighted that
