Ah true, thanks for that. Got the beggars mixed up.
January 24, 2012 at 20:12 #388112Does anyone know if Paul Nicholls has mentioned anything about his plan for Dildar? I’d agree with a couple of others on here who’ve said he may be aimed at the Adonis before Cheltenham, but has anyone heard anything more concrete?
January 24, 2012 at 20:19 #388114Runs at Taunton a week today.
January 24, 2012 at 20:21 #388115Ye just spotted a report in the Mail, cheers though.
January 24, 2012 at 21:53 #388144Henderson may again have a strong hand in the Triumph Hurdle, which he has won five times, including twice in the past three years. But he was unwilling to discuss the horses he had in mind, saying: "One did arrive this week, I’m not telling you what it’s called. If the entries closed now, I would enter three but you haven’t seen any of them yet".
January 25, 2012 at 01:46 #388163Wouldn’t surprise me if he’s bought one of Uto or Land Baron from France.
January 26, 2012 at 02:31 #388291Paul Nicholls running Dildar next Tuesday in a
class 4
at Taunton to debut over hurdles, only 6 weeks before Cheltenham. Is it just me, or is this slightly disappointing to anyone else? I assumed if he thought anything of the horse he’d throw him in a decent race to start, possibly the Adonis. I hope with the money I have behind him he doesn’t turn out to be a flop!
January 26, 2012 at 03:33 #388302Nicholls made that news public a week ago.
January 26, 2012 at 03:36 #388304Nicholls made that news public a week ago.
Yes, but my point being, I had him in my book as potentially high class, but debuting at Taunton in a class 4, 6 weeks before the festival doesn’t scream Triumph Hurdle winner!!
January 26, 2012 at 09:08 #388312Boz: Believe me if Dildar is as good as they believe it will not matter where they start him off!! His debut is not a matter of concern to me as it will merely be an education, hopefully a winning one
January 26, 2012 at 10:16 #388318Waiting for Minsk, Dildar and the henderson horses who will probably go the adonis route. Then will assess them and plough in late feb.
January 26, 2012 at 22:45 #388422The first race at Cheltenham this Saturday will tell us an awful lot if Baby Mix, Sadlers Risk, Hinterland and Grumeti all turn up.
I know we are all hanging on until the Adonis, but Im sure we have seen the winner of the triumph in Grumeti, very unfortunate last time.
Almost at the end of January, getting excited about Cheltenham now.

PS Viva Colonia at long odds for the county hurdle.
January 27, 2012 at 07:16 #388458Been backing Minsk all week. Apparently a very ‘exciting’ horse. Hopefully so.
January 27, 2012 at 08:36 #388464The Irish rumour mill suggesting Minsk won’t run this season.
January 27, 2012 at 09:14 #388468I think it is simply a case of hold bets until middle of feb for the race. Minsk is entered for a race mid feb.
Adonis will be informative as will the fact that minsk is entered in a race so will learn a lot from those two events.
The race on saturday will hopefully help narrow the field a little.
I like saddlers risk but want to see how he goes in there. Also a little short at the moment.
January 27, 2012 at 09:53 #388480MSercs: Please keep quiet re Viva Colonia!!!!
The price will go LOL he is my dark horse for the handicaps, wants faster ground than he has encountered this season to show his best. Young Trainer has been working this one with the big race in mind
January 27, 2012 at 21:59 #388588Sorry GDC lol – What else you fancying for the Festival?
As you say very important the ground for Viva, but equally essential that O’Regan takes the ride as needs to pounce late on.
