When i am not studying horses,i like a bit of birdwatching,it allows the pressures to release as i have to take my Crown off my head! Before embarking on my mission this morning to find a Kingfisher,i noticed Ballabriggs was running at Uttoxeter,in a hurdles race, this horse is a sad reflection of a typical Birdwatchers day,you sit and wait and wait and end up finding nothing!Thankfully having failed to find my Kingfisher,i came home and laid Ballabriggs in running at 11/10 and he duly obliged by cantering all over the field 4 out,3 out and 2 out,but then found the usual zilch going to the last.To his credit, this was his first run of the season and he was back over hurdles with top weight, there was always going to be something a bit speedier at the weights! He should strip fitter for a return to chasing next time though! Its all about timing when laying in running,i nearly pressed the lay button at 2/1,but hung in there as i new the horse well!
December 18, 2009 at 17:04 #264392If I were you I would lay off more of your Ricky bet reference strictly TAPK. Chris has won the public vote the last 3 weeks in a row (fact) and is dancing a Lindy hop in the final, which should compliment his charms perfectly. I make him 4/6 on rather than Ricky and would be very suprised to see the public desert their man after backing him all the way to the final.
December 18, 2009 at 19:01 #264415The king fisher is the only king you’ll ever see, regardless of how many mirrors you own. I hope you have a pair of binoculars when you spy on your feathered friends, because you’ll need a pair to watch me being crowned next season once the winners roll in.

milbear you are bang on! Like i have said if this competition was about dancing ability then Ricky would be a certainty!TAPK is never short on confidence but i have a S**t feeling about the outcome of this!Current betting is 1/2 Ricky,6/4 Chris!what i will do tomorrow night after Ricky has wiped the floor with him and its down to Joe Public is lay Ricky at 1/5 for another £50 thereby potentially gaining £50 for Chris but only losing £10 of my Ricky profit! Are you not tempted backing Chris at 6/4 yourself,or do you have bigger prices?

Once the winners roll in Goldilocks!Exactly! There"s more chance of me spotting a Dodo frequenting my birdtable!!
December 18, 2009 at 21:39 #264435The Tommy whittle chase is always a respectable race, this years renewal doesn"t have anything that jumps off the page, but i do like J,J.O"Neills Cant buy time. There are certain races that just stick in the memory and his victory at Sandown last season, when he beat the Sandown specialist Erics Charm with young Mclernon claiming 7lb defineately puts him in this with a solid e/w chance!I have taken the 12.5 on the machine and will back him e/w at 10/1.Jass would be my danger!
I will back him in running if i feel he is competitve!December 19, 2009 at 18:34 #264563If I were you I would lay off more of your Ricky bet reference strictly TAPK. I backed Ricky at 3.7 on betfair early in the show. When Ali was dropped into the dance off by the viewers I took a saver on Chris at 15’s as the only possible danger. 3 weeks ago I laid off my total potential win on Ricky and shifted it to the already significant green on Chris. Also Chris is working an accumulator with Joe (x factor) and Kauto (King George) at around 5/2 and 1/1 respectively. Ricky should win, hes probably the best ive seen on the show but it would take a monumental public turn around for that to happen. Provided Ricky doesnt come accross like an underdog tonight I believe Chris will win. The Lindy hop is clearly suited to Chris and he gets the pimp slot also in the final.
If Ricky wins I lose nothing but Chris will pay for xmas eve’s festivities and give me a really good day at Kempton cheering on the legend that is the star.
December 19, 2009 at 18:37 #264564Oh by the way your majesty the strictly results are given TONIGHT, and I like your logic but please dont wait until tomorrow my friend. Good luck in running.
December 20, 2009 at 12:29 #264652Well played milbear,a fine bit of foresight there! What i will say is,if ever a final was created to suit one individual (Chris) it was last nights!Ricky has sweated blood and tears to win what is supposed to be a "Dancing" competition, judged by people who are in the Dancing industry!what it shows is the lengths the BBC will go to,just so one of theirs wins! The programme makers have ultimately ruined the credibility of Strictly, as in future, celebrities who have natural ability wont bother applying themselves to the utter dedication required. As last nights show proved,it was he who clowned around the best, won! Thankfully TAPK doesn"t get the wool pulled over his eyes like the public!Betfair rules OK!
December 21, 2009 at 10:41 #264753Having gone to war against Kauto star many times in the past and come off worst, particularly with my old pal Exotic dancer,i stood shoulder to shoulder with Albertas run last year at 50/1 and we celebrated his best ever performance. This year TAPK has a 3 pronged attack planned!2 of my battallions are confirmed and ready Albertas run at 65,60,55,42 to win and 10 and 6 to place.Barbers shop at 25/1 e/w and 20 on the machine. We are just waiting on this years dark horse of the race to confirm,Deep Purple at 16,and 8/1 e/w without Kauto!I am well aware this could be a disaster as we still need to out gun Madison du berlais and the Imperial Commander! What a race in prospect, let the battle commence!Good luck to all! 1st Kauto Star, 2nd Deep Purple,3rd Albertas run, would be a fantastic result for the King of foresight!
Still lost on the race![/color:2mt890ig]
December 23, 2009 at 12:29 #265079Remember to lay your (4 days before the race ante posts) off in running. Four days must be a record for you, normally it’s about 36 hours.
December 23, 2009 at 15:32 #265133Having just got back from walking the dogs through a winter wonderland, otherwise known as Derbyshire,it came to my notice that Betfair are offering 16 that racing wont go ahead at Kempton on the 26th,all i can say is, that is a big price when you look at the state of the country. Its not that we will get anymore Snow, but the fact its bloody freezing out there!I have had a fiver on just in case!I hope i"m wrong though!
December 23, 2009 at 21:03 #265193Another fiver, this time at 12,says there will be no racing at Kempton on the 26th,still too big a price!I had to save the missus earlier after getting stuck on an icy road, the weathers bad up here!
December 24, 2009 at 16:59 #265345Betting on racing not to take part now eh Gord
December 25, 2009 at 20:59 #265492Betting on racing not to take part now eh Gord

I wouldn"t say i was panicking Halfway, but i have got some fancy prices in the King George and it would have been a small consolation if racing had been cancelled.I know all stakes would have been refunded, but i wouldn"t get the prices i have again when they re-opened the market!
December 27, 2009 at 13:33 #265853There is a grade 1 race at Leopardstown on the 27th of Dec called the "Paddy Power Dial a bet chase" over 2m1f.W,Mullins has several entered but i like the look of Golden silver, this horse has vast experience having come over from France as a youngster,i remember thinking in last years Irish Arkle, that Forpadydeplasterer was a certainty and backed him at 5/2 only to see this fellow nail him on the line, admittedly Forpady hated the ground, but it was still a taking performance from the winner!I expect the ground to be soft enough to suit Golden silver and look forward to somebody pricing the race up!I would take 5/1 now! In fact i might phone my mates Corals, they never let me down!
Back with a bang! 7/2 was the best i could get though!
December 27, 2009 at 21:10 #265940Sometimes when you cast your eye over a full racecard, something jumps off the page at you and you ask yourself why? Le Beau bai is that horse! Not surprisingly he is favourite, but thats because he is well handicapped, has good course form, perfect ground conditions and is a 6yo who is progressing. The majority of this field are exposed handicappers, eveything is in this fellows favour tomorrow, except one thing!Carvhills Hill fancys it, the kiss of death there then! Dont worry Carv your Anus Mirabillis will end soon,New year, new start!I hope Halcon Genelardais runs his race as he is a solid place bet!
Lost £20[/color:3apw2wsl]
