Jonbon’s opposition in the grade 2 was better than today’s i think.
January 8, 2022 at 15:38 #1577124“Sir Gerhard imo won’t beat Jonbon here. Mullins also doesn’t always have odds on favourites in a Supreme.”
I’d fully expect Sir G to have done what Jonbon has done to the horses he’s beat so far wouldn’t you Mike?Once every while Nicky does seem to get his good batch to keep him nervous for a few years…but right now it’s wide open.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!January 8, 2022 at 15:57 #1577130I wasnt suggesting mullins always has strong favs i was just alluding to hed happily run two good ones against each other if he thoight he didnt have the winning of it with the fav
sir gerhard on his bumper form is still atleast the 2nd best horse in the race, jonbons two races have been ridiculous at the start, id still have him 5/1+
CH deserves favouritism just by the manner in how he won today, hes ran 144+ but i wouldnt be expecting sir gerhard to achieve anyless than 150 off his bumper form
This as jack sais, is wide open
January 8, 2022 at 16:09 #1577136CH has had both runs to suit i.e. a pace to aim at and he looked good visually. Jonbon hasn’t had them races to suit but still looked good. If you priced up Jonbon at 5-1 plus it wouldn’t last long lol.
January 8, 2022 at 16:18 #1577137“Sir Gerhard imo won’t beat Jonbon here.”
Not sure how you can say that tbh, we’ve only seen Sir Gerhard once over hurdles.
Don’t have nearly enough information to be coming to that conclusion yet.
We will know much more next time
January 8, 2022 at 16:39 #1577142I still prefer Jonbon. CH looked good today but I never get carried away about wide margin winners on heavy ground.
January 8, 2022 at 16:42 #1577144Jonbon hasnt had a race to suit??? Mike Hes had two crawls and sprints, thats absolutely what he needs under ideal conditions, where they literally crawled… watch them back, they where an absolute farce…
We have plenty of info on what SG is capable of? Bar kilcruit because hes not clicking currently, the champion bumper is a great pointer, particularly the last 5 years, the figures he put up last season are top class and his reappearance was exactly what youd expect, no reason currently to suggest he wont maintain that form, if he doesnt run to 150+ after his bumper figures ill be more than surprised
January 8, 2022 at 17:10 #1577146He’ll be better off a fast pace.
January 8, 2022 at 17:15 #1577148It’s great that Mike knows exactly what Jonbon needs after 3 racecourse visits….and what level Sir Gerhard is over hurdles already.
Can you point me in the direction of where you bought you magic ball?Twitter: Jackh1092

January 8, 2022 at 17:52 #1577151Has it def been confirmed Sir Gerard is going here
Nope HDLG- but he’ll more than likely go to the DRF over 2m and the result of that will decide.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!January 8, 2022 at 18:05 #15771529/4 against CH is crazy. He is as short as 15/8 with some firms.

You will get a bigger price on the day.
January 8, 2022 at 18:06 #1577153“The big question that everyone’s asking me now is what will I do with Jonbon and Constitution Hill. I asked Nico if he thought Constitution Hill would go any further and he said ‘no’ so we’ll be sticking to two miles…”
That’s one remote question mark gone.
January 8, 2022 at 18:24 #1577154Nico normally plays his cards close to his chest
Hes been unusually effusive about Constitution hill
He knows he’s sitting on a good one it seems
January 8, 2022 at 19:21 #1577160“It’s great that Mike knows exactly what Jonbon needs after 3 racecourse visits….”
It’s an opinion on the race. Nothing more

“Probably bought it from the same place he gets his prices jack.”
I don’t know what you mean.
January 8, 2022 at 19:43 #1577161That’s that sorted. The first race at the festival could be the best one of the lot.
