I can’t say I’ve been totally inspired by anything so far in this, I think
Moon Racer is a decent animal, I wouldn’t put anyone off him, but 6/1 ?
I backed Moon Racer last time at Cheltenham, and he won it well enough,
although he definitely had the race run to suit. He certainly has the
Indian sign over Ballyandy, holding him off by 3/4L at Perth and then
definitely got the march on him in that Cheltenham race. But 6/1 against
33/1….I don’t think so. Ballyandy ran a good race last time out at
Sandown behind Messire Des Obeaux over 2m 4f, so he could get further
and head for the Albert Bartlett, but maybe a hell for leather pace
in the Supreme and a stiff uphill finish might be what he needs, there
could be some e/w value in him.

Having said all that, and with nothing that looks a pinned on winner of
this, I’m going to take a chance on one that hasn’t fully showed his hand
yet. CRACK MOME I watched his race at Clonmel on video
the other day, he clearly was expected to win being well odd on, and he
did it quite easily. It was reported it was made easier because of last
fence fall of Blast Of Koeman. The fall made no difference, he was going
away from him at that point and would have won easily regardless. He was
clearly a bit green, which was only to be expected, but he gave me more of
a feel of something which just may be very decent. I nabbed the 12s at Ladbrokes
yesterday, and put him up at that price in the ante post competition. Today
will tell us a lot more at Punchestown, but if he improves on what he’s done,
which he should do, then the 11s with Racebets, which is the best on offer now,
will disappear like snow of a dyke.

Jaymo, I was typing my bit up when you posted yours, and I am in complete agreement
with your thoughts on Crack Mome, I think he’s the value in the race at the moment.
Good luck with him, and Joe I see you are in on the act too…..well done guys :good:

CRACK MOME is clearly the horse to beat. Yes its true that CM probably isn’t the best horse in the stable (whispers are that MELON was ment to be thier Supreme horse)

If you think you’ve got two Supreme winners, you’ve probably got none

Backing a once-raced horse at 10/1 for one of the hottest races of the season makes no appeal to me whatsoever. He’s priced up on reputation alone. Consul De Thaix 65s + 70s, Capitaine 33s + Jenkins 25s all make buckets more appeal to me.

10/1 looks great value now, eh? Lost his chance by scuffing up the last, the runner-up too.

He made a horlicks of the last, and lost all momentum. He traveled well enough and looked
the likely winner going to the last, but these things happen. He’ll learn from this and
we’ll see what happens from here. But looking on the bright side, it kept you happy Zark :good:

Ruby has single-handedly ‘ruined’ the Crack Mome form today with 2 mistakes at key points in the race. At the last with Crack Mome and at the 2nd last with Kolumbus.

Nonsense crack mome only ran once before today, when he won an average maiden so what “form” are u talking about that has been ruined? The horse is still green and probably better than the winner.

Ruby got beat on Crack Mome, and then he got beat on Kolumbus (who finished 2nd to Crack Mome). You could argue mistakes cost him both races.

Wrong. Kolumbus and Crack mome have never ran in the same race. Kolumbus was beaten by Bacardys

[Hi Zark, sorry for the late post – i’ve been eating an extra few slices of humble pie. The horse is still learning and made errors at critical stages. I’m not detered by CM gettin turned over. I’ll be waiting now till Cheltenham week to go in again. /quote]

Know nowt about the horse but I bet the odd tip on here and happy to have had a tenner on it. That’s the chance you take. Only saw the finish where he was travelling well. Looked a bit of a slowboat after the error, but we shall see.

BTW, I still believe Moon Racer could end up in the Champion Hurdle. I haven’t backed him for the Supreme but had I done, I’d be saving my stake in the CH.

Don’t be detered by the the defeat NG. The supreme picture is so muddy at the moment. Crack mome was definately a Mullins talkin horse along with Melon so they think the ability is there. Its a dissappointing result today but Cheltenham will be a different story
