One dimensional surrender monkey
February 25, 2017 at 21:18 #1288948It looked to me like Charli Parcs had some issues during the race (maybe tomorrow we will know something more), horses are not machines…Whatever has happened, one thing I liked, he was staying again before falling. I don’t believe that MBE improved to much to reverse the form with Charli Parcs from their last run. Hopefully Charli will back on track very soon. I still think it’s plenty to come from this horse, we will see…
February 25, 2017 at 22:19 #1288951Another Saturday passes and so the Supreme market goes into disarray again. There was some proper bang drumming going on from Charli Parcs fans… now is that a pin I hear dropping?
They should do what’s best for the horse and that would be to avoid Cheltenham this year, he’s only 4 and still has a bright future ahead.

I think it was a combination of Master Blueyes improving and Charli Parcs regressing from the first time they met.
February 26, 2017 at 09:20 #1288985Hi everyone, been lurking for about a week now so this is my first post.
Watched the race yesterday. Thought CP was boxed in and couldn’t get into a rhythm. He was held up and wide in his last race so was able to run his own race.
Yesterday was a different story. BG had to try and get him going as he couldn’t get into a rhythm, hence why he looked under pressure. However, when he saw daylight, I thought he improved and apart from that fall, I think he might well have gone on to win it.
Was far from an impressive performance but there are mitigating circumstances for him.
Is he ready to win a supreme, I doubt it. He’ll have the same treatment, being boxed in and suffer the same fate.
After yesterday’s performance this race is blown wide open (again).

Welcome Litts, and I think that’s a pretty fair summing up. I also
agree with you that had CP stayed on his feet he would have won, he
looked to be picking up well before he came down. As to where he goes
from here I’m not sure, I would want to hear some very positive vibes
from his camp before I’d part with cash. I think there’s more to come
from him, I’m just not sure it will be this season.February 26, 2017 at 12:56 #1289004Hi everyone, been lurking for about a week now so this is my first post.

It’s just as well we’re allowed to have our own opinions on here, otherwise
it would be a back slapping excercise. I understand why you take your view Ham,
he didn’t look that impressive during the race, he had to be cajoled along
throughout and didn’t settle, I think his inexperience showed. To my eye the
only time he looked to be more settled was when he eventually saw daylight just
before the 2nd last. What I don’t agree with you was that it was a tired fall,
but that’s just my take on it. The impression I got, from watching it several
times, was that he would have run on, based on what he’s shown before, and my
gut feeling, I think he would have picked up well and run on. It’s not a disagreement
that can be resolved, we just don’t know how it would have turned out. I just
hope he’s okay and goes on to show he’s a decent horse, but as I said, I’m not
sure it will be this season.February 26, 2017 at 14:11 #1289021Welcome to TRF, Litts
February 26, 2017 at 14:19 #1289024Graham, worth a rewatch I think with concentration solely on MB. He travelled like an absolute dream throughout. Wasn’t that clever at the last two but once he was rebalanced he shot clear and won with a ton in hand.

MBE looks pretty smart, improving each race

I thought it was lucky because Charli Parcs would surely have beaten it if it had stood up
Fair play to the King horse but I wouldn’t be touching this one at cheltenham personally

No doubt about it Joe, it was a fairly impressive run from MB. You’re right, I maybe
did concentrate more on CP during the race, but was impressed with the way MB finished,
he looks very decent. I’m just a bit disappointed that CP didn’t stay on his feet, we
would have learned a lot more, although there certainly are question marks about him
now. I hope there’s a lot more to come from him, he had looked very promising.February 26, 2017 at 19:47 #1289073Welcome to TRF, Litts

Thanks

It seems like there’s loads of knowledgeable people on here, I look forward to adding to it.

Very often appearances are deceptive… I advise to watch Christmas Hurdle, just assume Yanworth have has fallen 2 out (moment where he was staying again after being off the bridle) and try to think where this horse would have finished having not fallen… (we all know the fact that Yanworth stayed really well and won going away from The New One). Abut ChP we don’t know, we can just guess…I just know it was about 20lb difference between ChP and MBE on their penultimate performance.
This year’s Supreme doesn’t look the strongest event, seeing Ballyandy as a third horse in the betting 5/1, Melon as a fav, I don’t want watch this race haha. I hope ground won’t be too quick and Neon Wolf will go here. I haven’t backed him, but like this horse much. - AuthorPosts
