No chance Barry Connell will be ever called a big-mouth again. Well done to him.

Super work Sam! And well done every else on.
Great ride, looked like the horse was a touch keen to begin with.

Not surprised he went for home way too soon

Don’t think he’d have won anyway as the winner won easily

I think the winners just got a lot more speed than him anyway so if he’d held off he might have got beat even further

Hmm wee bit harsh…the horse stays and they hadn’t gone a mental pace, he’ve looked a dope if he got caught flat footed by something with more acceleration, I agree I don’t think he’d have won anyway if he’d held on a bit longer.

In an ideal world, I think Townend would have preferred to hit the front a bit later, so I can understand him feeling frustrated. But when he watches the race tonight, I think he will realise it did not make any difference.

Willie Mullins was asked about Facile Vega’s run and it genuinely looks as though he cannot believe he got beaten.

    14 runners, 5 from Britain.

    They finished 9th, 10th, 12th, 13th and pulled up.

I’d fancied Hermes Allen, may have to revise that

FV was restless in the parade ring and looked a handful going to post.
He was something else to look at though, huge

The pick of the paddock was Strong Leader.. Gorgeous
