On Jet Powered at 25s and 8s. Impressed with his debut and he had them well strung out too. He could have plenty more to come.
Obviously Facile Vega will be hard to beat but I never got on him when he was a half decent price as I personally thought he would be better suited to the Ballymore and I don’t like backing horses when I’m not 95% sure where they will be running. Couldn’t back at 11/10 now as his bumper form is superb but bumper winners don’t often win the supreme and yes he was super impressive on debut but the sectionals suggest the other horses didn’t want to get close to him rather than him being way too good. I’ve seen horses jump better on hurdling debut than him, aware he could improve in that department but I wouldn’t be wanting yo many negatives about an 11/10 **** this far out
December 27, 2022 at 13:58 #1628444Facile Vega didn’t pull away in his race today. Gives the rest some hope.
December 27, 2022 at 14:43 #1628461Facile Vega won readily enough by four lengths but the runner up only has an OR of 137 and 141+ wouldn’t be the rating of a 5/4 Supreme favourite in my book.

Agree about the price but Mullins will know Facile Vega will need to be better in March. I also think Cheltenham will suit.Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
December 27, 2022 at 15:08 #1628471I’d rather be with Marine Nationale on what I’ve seen so far.

December 27, 2022 at 15:36 #1628478Yes, after Royal Pagaille and Truckers Lodge in the last 24 hours, Chezza has been thinking the same himself, Gladders!
Chezza stays win only, though!

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"December 27, 2022 at 17:59 #1628499Thought the performance was efficient, no more, perhaps expectations were too sky-high. On Rte Ruby suggested that his jumping technique put a lot of pressure on his forelegs, which might have implications for any long-term future
December 27, 2022 at 18:04 #1628501My expectation, or bar, was that, being 5/4 jolly ante-post for this, he’d clobber an OR 137 beast by ten on the bit.
He didn’t.
Still deserves to be favourite but, unless he comes out again and does something spectacular, I could see him being the same price, or even bigger, on the day.

The runner up travelled well and looked like he might make a race of it but the favourite brushed him aside fairly easily. It looked like there was plenty left in the tank as well.
I backed Jet Powered after he won at Newbury but I am not confident he can beat Facile Vega.

Should see some movement outside of the fav next 2 days
December 31, 2022 at 12:48 #1629053Maybe it was the ground (though he won his Irish Point in the mud) but if you’re wanting to back horses for races like this on the strength of Maiden Hurdle wins you want to be getting a big price because the form might be meaningless.

December 31, 2022 at 12:52 #1629055What a turn up! Yeah may well have been the ground given how he folded, but either way that’s not what backers want to see.
December 31, 2022 at 13:00 #1629059Nothing like his first run. Probably the ground.
