February 8, 2009 at 02:46 #208837BH – you sweet talk me into it every time.
Let’s go for a quiz Sunday 22nd. 8.30 pm. I’ll do the Q’s.
Topics –
This jumping season
Racecourses
Record breakers10 questions in each section.
There – how’s that?
February 8, 2009 at 02:51 #208841BH – myself and Happy Jack did a couple in quick succession last year, but the last of those must have been all of 11 or so months ago. I think Zome still owes us one as well. Workload alone is stopping me from compiling another just now!

February 8, 2009 at 02:54 #208842How does the Chat Room work?
February 8, 2009 at 15:41 #208902Intermittently!
February 8, 2009 at 17:16 #208922I keep getting "connection failed – server must be down" when I try to log-in to Chat
I am feeling lucky too
February 8, 2009 at 18:07 #208939I’m not following the thread’s current train of thought, but I don’t care.
My favourite trivia question:
Where did Lanfranco Dettori ride his first European Classic race?
February 8, 2009 at 18:16 #208943Complete and utter guesses. I’m being greedy and having two. Austria or Turkey.
February 8, 2009 at 18:25 #208949Nope.
That’s stretching the "think outside the box" notion, don’t you think?
February 8, 2009 at 18:31 #208950Austria is next door to Italy.
It wouldn’t be Scotland would it? The old Scottish Classic, or whatever it was called.
February 8, 2009 at 18:41 #208952The Scottish Derby? I don’t think that’s recognised as a European Classic, considering it was for 3YO+ – can someone clarify?
February 8, 2009 at 18:46 #208954Damn
I’ve only just noticed the question says where, and not which country.
Bit blurry, memory-wise – don’t even know which decade this happened.
The year the Portland got cancelled because of holes in the track.
Was the St Leger moved to Haydock, or somewhere like that?
February 8, 2009 at 18:57 #208959Hey – I’m asking the questions!
February 8, 2009 at 19:11 #208962Cappanelle Rome, 1990
Legal Case – Premio Roma.that was his first winner according to Wikipedia,
but that doesn’t quite answer your question I don’t think

Nearly there Gerald! I believe it was the rearranged St Leger won by Michelozzo at Ayr.
February 8, 2009 at 19:53 #208973I should have worked out it was Ayr and not Haydock.
The Ayr Gold Cup is 10 days after the Portland, and the Vernons Sprint Cup is 11 days before.
