Well disaster on the Northants sporting scene this weekend with Saints loosing to Leinester in the rugby and Brackley Town blowing a 7th play off bid in the National League North.
Thankfully Kyren is in the zone and has picked up a good lead. Ideally a 5-3 session win tonight would be great and put him on the cusp. Tactically he does seem to using the baulk colours a lot more and using that to take mid range reds. Good break building and frame winning stuff.
Im only 90% confident about a win, a bad run of the balls and nerves/pressure..its tough out there.

Cashed out at 17-11..£3 down on the overall win total, didn’t any want to see a silly end to the match. Happy with my lot this year.
Only took 4 attempts to get the winner..

First time I backed Wilson for the World’s he was 250/1 and got beat by Selby in the QF’s
I had him the year he was runner up
not a bean on him this year but will be happy for him when he wins
Blind Dave has always called him a bottler but surely he’ll finish it off
The draw worked out quite kind for him but you still have to do it

Indeed, its hard to get over that line.
Agree the draw worked out well for him, it was his time. So respect to him and well played to Jak, at 7-1 down he came back and made a good fight of it.

Kyren Wilson was the best player over the 17 days and deserved to win.

I had to laugh at the BBC’s coverage. On Sunday night, Stephen Hendry said it had not been a vintage final or tournament. Hazel Irvine nodded away in agreement. Then on Monday night, both John Parrott and Steve Davis said it had been a brilliant tournament and Hazel Irvine nodded away again.

No disrespect to Wilson but I think Hendry was right.

2025 world Championship Zhang Anda 50/1
Got beat by Jak Jones in round 1 which didn’t turn out as bad as it first looked with Jones obviously in good form. Zhang underestimated all of last year and I’d expect him to have another solid year going into the Worlds

Sad news that Clive Everton died yesterday. A brilliant commentator, knowledgeable and had a great way with words, including when not to say anything.

He was one of the main commentators when I first started watching in the 90s so he was one of the voices of snooker for me.

Nathan, you could pick 10 in that and all loose in the first round.
Speed snooker, not an old mans game I think. But thanks for putting it up as being on, I do like a bet in it, at the last 16 stage.

Its near enough a lottery but I did have Dominic Dale at huge odds the year he won it and the same player at huge odds when he reached the semi final albeit you don’t get paid for it
I find the spectacle okay for a once a year thing. The crowd can become a little tiresome though

Great shot with DD Nathan, if you Pardon the pun.

I suspect the crowd may have been influenced by the darts fraternity.
But its great for the lower ranked players to have their moment in the sun.

I’ve been watching the Mosconi Cup, they’ve got nothing on the American crowd.

The crowd shouting out “boring” every safety shot is somewhat more boring than the shot

Matt Selt has caused a bit of controversy with his reaction to losing. His opponent got a fluke at the crucial stage of the deciding frame, which in effect won him the match.

I think Selt’s emotions just got the better of him in the heat of the moment. I can understand why a fluke at that time was tough to take.

He shouldn’t have conceded when the young lad was still at the table. He maybe deserves to be fined but the calls for him to be banned are ridiculously over the top.
