Truss is a dimwit not remotely cognizant of the complex Foreign Office brief
Anyway, Ellwood and Wallace – both ex-army and both in comparison intellectual titans – have put her right
February 28, 2022 at 11:10 #1585152“Is this just another devil’s advocate reply Ginge, or do you really think that
as Foreign Secretary Liz Trust should be advocating untrained men and women
should be encouraged (“it’s a battle for democracy”) to head for a warzone
to in all likelyhood to be killed, should they be involved in a battle”.Of course there is a good chance of them being killed, it’s a fecking war zone!
But if someone wants to fight for Ukraine… someone with military experience fighting for democracy and / or returning to fight for their family and / or fighting for their motherland!!! Who are we to deny them?Value Is EverythingFebruary 28, 2022 at 11:58 #1585154“If that is what they want to do; Why would you stop anyone with connections to Ukraine
going to fight for Ukraine whether they’re trained or “untrained”, BigG?”You made no reference to that before Ginge, that would be a different set of circumstances
and I can completely understand anyone with Ukraine connections wanting to head to their
homeland and fight. I would agree with it.“really don’t expect – and Lizz Truss does not expect – many (if any) people who are without
military experience AND without Ukraine connections going over to fight… (Unless having medical
experience that would be useful).”Again that’s not what you said. How am I supposed to surmise what you are thinking, or afterthinking,
when you don’t state it in your original post that I replied to.“…So that leaves those without Ukraine connection but with military experience (“trained”).
And again – why would you stop anyone with military experience fighting for Ukraine / ie
fighting for democracy, if that is what they themselves want to do?”Again nothing like you said before. You can’t type up a completely different post to try and
justify your earlier comments which I replied toThis was the sum total of which you wrote and I replied to
“Personally I’d love British (NATO) troops to go into Ukraine, if it was not for the
probability of it resulting in World War III, BigG… Therefore unfortunately have to be
against British troops being involved. However, if any individual British person wanted to go over and fight for Ukraine it would not cause a World War and yes they’d be fighting for “democracy”. So if they want to I don’t see why they should be discouraged.
So don’t see what the feck you have against what Lizz Truss said.
Value Is Everything”That was the sum total of your post. As I said earlier, we’ve already agreed sending in troops
would be a disaster. The rest of what you wrote “any individual British person (no mention of
Ukraine ties) and ” So if they want to I don’t see why they should be discouraged.” was what I
totally disagreed with, I wouldn’t send Brits over to Ukraine for the reasons I gave earlier,
this is unlike the internal Spanish war in the 30s and they would be fighting a huge military
force. Finally “So don’t see what the feck you have against what Lizz Truss said”
She is completely out of her depth, and I would expect her to get a flea in her ear from
her superiors. It was a reckless comment to make. You can’t just change the complete text of your post to try and prove a point. I’ve said
this recently Ginge, you normally put up decent arguments, but this is below you.February 28, 2022 at 12:03 #1585155@Drone – “dimwit” right enough but a dangerous one…
BBC News, “Kremlin says President Putin’s nuclear alert was a response to a statement made by the British Foreign Secretary.”
February 28, 2022 at 12:22 #1585157Happily standing back from this now
But going to lol at the tongue hanging out window lickers swallowing that drivel from the Kremlin about Truss
February 28, 2022 at 12:25 #1585159and just to deeply offend all those here (and lets face it…not found anywhere else that ive seen) who have made clear their issues with support for Ukraine from decent people with a moral compass, suck this up

February 28, 2022 at 12:33 #1585160Nice gesture, I think he should be safe enough though
February 28, 2022 at 12:47 #1585162Liz Truss is perfectly capable of making herself look stupid, she doesn’t require the assistance of the Kremlin.
February 28, 2022 at 12:52 #1585163You have a point Richard.
February 28, 2022 at 13:36 #1585171My earlier post was very short BigG. Short posts don’t have as much information explaining my views than long posts. If looking at your post that I was in fact responding to, you implied Lizz Truss stopping the British troops going and yet allowing British individuals to go – was wrong of her… Which is why I deliberately used the word “British” and wrote about British people in particular in that earlier post.
ie My earlier response was not particularly about which individuals should and should not go. It was more about why it would be a bad idea to send British NATO troops to Ukraine (if doing so we’d be in WWIII) and why it would be possible to let British (non-NATO) individuals go (if doing so we would NOT be in WWIII).
What I am saying is yes, discourage those (very few if any) who are both without Ukraine connections and without military experience from going… But not if that is at the expense of stopping those with Ukrainian connections or Military experience from getting to Ukraine as quickly as possible.
Value Is EverythingFebruary 28, 2022 at 13:43 #1585173“BBC News, “Kremlin says President Putin’s nuclear alert was a response to a statement made by the British Foreign Secretary.”
So the Kremlin are desperate to find an excuse for their “nuclear alert” and the British Left wing / anti-Conservatives are desperate to believe Putin rather than the Conservative foreign minister.

Excellent cartoon from the Murdoch Times of all places.
February 28, 2022 at 13:51 #1585175That is funny Richard.
Value Is EverythingFebruary 28, 2022 at 16:25 #1585187Ah, it was so obvious Ginge that it went right over my head.
I’ll obviously have to work on my reading between the lines
of unspoken words. Jeez, more work to doPS, I’ve managed to find my old ouija board, that should come in handy
February 28, 2022 at 16:28 #1585189I did have a chortle Richard
February 28, 2022 at 16:49 #1585190“So the Kremlin are desperate to find an excuse for their “nuclear alert” and the British Left wing / anti-Conservatives are desperate to believe Putin rather than the Conservative foreign minister”
No, of course nobody believes Putin. The point is that Truss’s incompetence offered him a distraction. That’s what you get for sending an imbecile like her into a sensitive diplomatic situation. Her comments & lack of understanding during her visit were embarrassing and yet again the UK is an international laughing stock.
February 28, 2022 at 16:53 #1585191Spot on Tonge, it’s got nothing to do with left or right. When you’re a
blethering idiot, you’re a blethering idiot. -
