    Entries………

Definitely a race where I like a proper Antepost Bet, and my eye drawn immediately to Patriotik. Thought it a very encouraging run at Chepstow, and immediate notebook material. Stablemate Dans Le Vent is a horse I really like, but questions to annswer after the comeback.

Thanksforthehelp also has a few questions to answer, but like Dans Le Vent, he could maybe a backup for me.

The one I really like though just now for backup is Flight Deck. Step in the right direction last week, and lurking on a very nice mark.

Can only see Hills with this priced up at the moment, and really like the 25’s for Patriotik, but I’ll try to wait and see if he gets a Cheltenham entry next week first of all. If I see any movement though I’ll just bet him

Decided just to bet Patriotik just now. Hopefully don’t see any other entries for him come Monday

I think that Twig is very interesting at 40-1, but because of other possible engagements I’ll definitely not have an ap bet

Ottizzinni for me at 40/1 makes plenty of appeal

Patriotik into 12s now VtC and he’s my pick too. Lots to like about his form and if the rain arrives in time it should suit him.

Twig scores highly for consistency so I’ll have a small bet on him each way.

He’s a better chaser than a hurdler and this to me smacks of attempting to keep his mark down for a crack at some nationals later in the season. Which ones is the tricky one.

Doyen Quest is my rather boring main selection at 10-3, but I’ll also join you waroftheoses and Tizaards with an ew on Twig at 40-1

I also like Twig at a big price here. That Ultima form on heavy ground is a very good piece of form. Decent return from action at Aintree as well, should be primed for this. Also added Gwennie May Boy who was very imrpessive in his last starts. Surely we didn’t see him at his best yet, at least that is what I hope.

I like two of the Irish raiders here.

Shoot First was probably close to being favourite for the Pertemps for the 2023 festival which he missed late on. He’s a talented horse if he’s recovered from whatever was ailing him all of last season. I’m always interested when a horse has a really long explanation in the stewards notes and his was very long for his comeback at Galway.

Jody Ted won what is usually a strong pertemps qualifier this time last year at Punchestown and then he’s gone off favourite for a Paddy Power off a chase mark in Ireland that is higher than his UK hurdles mark. He did unseat there and has been unseen since. Hopefully it wasn’t a serious setback. First run this season would be a slight concern but they’ve bought him over here for a big pot. You don’t do that if you don’t have them pretty fit.

Lots of interesting improving and unexposed ones in this, suspect the form will prove to be strong in time whoever wins.

Cheers :good: big drifter on the day too, I suspect they were nervous about the ground.
