Biden is not a great public speaker which (and I speak from personal experience) isn’t surprising for someone who stammers.
Churchill and King George VI also stammers but was great public speakers as the films Darkest Hour and The King’s Speech shows. Both films are worth watching by the way.
You've got to accentuate the positive.
Eliminate the negative.
Latch on to the affirmative.

That’s what Russians claim, CAS; it is disputed.
It would be good to have a small no-go zone between Russia and NATO countries, but such a zone is impossible. eg With Belarus a dictatorship. Its leader lost an election yet claimed 90% of the vote and is kept in power by Putin’s Russia. Russia might like a no-go zone along the Western border of Belarus, but what happens if the Belarus dictator is overthrown and its people no longer want any Russian forces within Belarus?
If Russia threatens Ukraine then it is bound to get more NATO forces on its borders, not less.
Value Is EverythingJanuary 30, 2022 at 11:55 #1580646If the Ukranians are cool with it then let the Russians invade, who are we to tell Russia what’s theres and what isnt?
If the Unkranians are that upbeat about the whole matter, well then there might be an issue. But from afar the Ukranians do seem rather blaze about the whole thing, I could be wrong on that though.
January 30, 2022 at 12:10 #1580649Trump didn’t start any wars, but there are more ways than that to be “reckless”, CAS. Not giving a **** what happens abroad being one.
Value Is EverythingJanuary 30, 2022 at 13:01 #1580655Cas you say it’s irrelevant Trump not president. Well he says he might run for the 2024 election and will pardon the rioters if he wins. I know it’s up to the American public but hope they see right through him.

Plenty of Americans are like that. The isolationist movement was a very powerful lobby in America in the interwar years. They would not have cared if the whole of Europe fell under the Nazi jackboot.
Even after Pearl Harbour, plenty of Americans did not want to get involved in a European war. It was only after Hitler crazily declared war on America in support of Japan that America became involved in the European theatre.
That isolationist strand has never gone away. In fact I believe it will grow stronger, especially after the humiliation of Afghanistan. As America weakens, it is going to be far less enthusiastic about getting involved in foreign conflicts.
The 20th century was America’s but the 21st century will not be. When China dominates the world, future generations might look back on the late 20th century as some sort of “Pax Americana”.
January 30, 2022 at 15:12 #1580676And when you look at some of the disastrous foreign policy interventions made by recent American Presidents, maybe one with the attitude “Not giving a **** what happens abroad” is not such a bad thing.
January 30, 2022 at 16:09 #1580681This I dont get
Russia squealing about neighbouring states being In NATO. Its understandable because they feel threatened …the poor dears. By Estonia etx
And yet they’ve constantly menaced these states at every opportunity and squeal like stuck pigs that they turn to nato

January 30, 2022 at 22:16 #1580713Russia has twice before invaded other neighbouring countries / areas. Once with Georgia and once Crimea.
Once the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics is over the chance of conflict increases.
Value Is EverythingJanuary 30, 2022 at 22:42 #1580716The Winter Olympics will have absolutely no influence on any military decision whatsoever.

HAPPY AS LARRYJanuary 31, 2022 at 11:02 #1580748Anyone remember that party in Italy that Johnson went to sans security. Hosted by a Russian oligarch. He was seen hungover at the airport and incoherent (well, more incoherent than usual) the following day. I reckon Johnson has more links with Russia than Corbyn ever had.
January 31, 2022 at 11:12 #1580752LOL In your dreams, Moehat.
Just remember Corbyn’s reaction to Salisbury,Value Is EverythingJanuary 31, 2022 at 11:24 #1580753Corbyn was told hundreds of thousands of Russian troops are on the borders of Ukraine.
But his hearing isn’t good…
And started celebrating, thinking hundreds of thousands of Russian troops were on the borders of UK.Value Is Everything - AuthorPosts
