When me and a few mates went to Kharkiv following Newcastle (football) we tried our best to learn some basic Ukrainian to impress the locals. Turns out the majority of them spoke Russian as their main language so we’d wasted our time. It’s the thought that counts I guess…
Although best described as primitive compared to Western Europe, Kharkiv was charming in its own way. Very sad watching the City burn.
Not sure if anyone watches his videos but theres a youtuber called Bald and Bankrupt who’s an English guy who spends his time traveling around the old Baltic states and has done lots of his videos travelling through Ukraine, seems like a lovely country with great people.

I doubt either of us will gain any cred from what we are trying to achieve, but there’s a difference – my objectives don’t involve body bags, rather biscuit packets. Who’ll have more fun doing what they are doing.
