Frankie Dettori’s jumped off and signed out. Dandy Man won’t be running.
Surely not Overdose either.
October 5, 2008 at 17:31 #183502Dazzler’s mount too, he won’t be running.
October 5, 2008 at 17:38 #183503What a shame, still its the drama of sport, no-one’s fault just one of those things.
Just a shame some of the horses now seemingly wont run.
5.30 UK time the re-run I believe.
October 5, 2008 at 17:39 #183504I guess Fleeting Spirit must have a great chance in the re-run!
October 5, 2008 at 17:39 #183505Overdose looks like a seriously good sprinter. I feel sorry for his connections.
October 5, 2008 at 17:40 #183506I only backed one horse
overdose
I dont go mad on these races
but I would advise
any other overdose backers
to head for the barOctober 5, 2008 at 17:45 #183507I know for bookmakers you can ask for your money not to go on the second race. But anyone know about Betfair?

Definately.
Marchand D’Or, and Murtagh’s mount, might have a good chance too.

Seems to me they should’ve just let the whole field carry on. It would have been a shame for the Fleeting Spirit camp but now it’s going to be a shame for 80% of the field.
October 5, 2008 at 17:51 #183511I had a few quid on Fleeting Spirit on the internet with Coral. What do I do now? Will I get the same price I got earlier? Any ideas? Will tey repay me and let me decide what to do etc.
Cheers
CrizzyOctober 5, 2008 at 17:57 #183515If you don’t like bookmakers, enjoy these next few portions of time – those guys are probably going ape wondering what to do right now.
October 5, 2008 at 17:58 #183516Crizzy,
Believe it was corals rep who said if you want a refund ring them before the second race. Presume it is the same for all bookmakers.
So if you are already on Fleeting, leave it on. If you have taken a price it should be very good value now. Though there will be a big rule 4.
What has happened is to the advantage of Fleeting Spirit, leave it on!

CrizzyNo, yes and yes.
October 5, 2008 at 18:13 #183518Fleeting Spirits trainer said that she banged herself a fair bit trying to get out of the stall and twisted a shoe, so all is not well with her either..what a shame for everyone concerned but especially for Overdose’s jockey.

I’ve actually got one of our syndicate horses running in Germany tomorrow. But I won’t be there. I can’t miss Overdose. Not in a Group 1. As I couldn’t make it to Paris, I’ll be round a friends place watching it on TV, and we’ll be cheering Overdose to the rafters. Yes, I think the Abbaye could be a bridge too far. But if he were to win it, I can tell you I’ll have a tear in my eye and a lump in my throat!! Oh yes, and you’ll hear me in most of Europe!!!!

Oooh man ………I feel so sorry for you !
October 5, 2008 at 18:41 #183523Wrong kind of tears I suspect.
