Well, this isn’t going quite as superbly as I’d hoped.

7.30 Bletchley Castle 12/1Tramore

Pts staked 157Killarney starts tomorrow but I can’t find a standout bet and everything I touched turned to poo last weekend so will be very restrained and limit myself to my star horse at York tomorrow:
3.35 York Crystal Ocean 11/10 5pts win
August 22, 2019 at 22:37 #1451747A few interesting contests tomorrow GAG.
Party Playboy is of interest for me at 4/1. Ran very well at Goodwood over a marathon trip on the flat, so 2m7 should be no bother to him tomorrow ( though he did find it a bother at Punchestown). He is probably still pretty well handicapped off 111. The horse he beat with ease at DR is now rated 112 himself, having won easy at dpk (probably well placed by Cromwell as usual!). The 3rd at DR Ashqar is also now rated 106, having finished a close 2nd next time + then catching the eye at Galway in the novice event.
Ballyoisin in the 2nd last, he could go either way in the market, but i’ve taken 7/2. Even with the weight, O’Keeffe is helping in a big way + he’s comfortably the best here. Fitness taken on trust, and given connections that could be daft. He wants good ground, so the warm temps tomorrow will help as it sits at yielding now. He clearly had a setback at Xmas so my 7/2 could be 12/1 tomorrow and i’ll know it’s a loser!
Good to see RDC back out tomorrow after her scare at Galway.

Pts staked 162Yes it’s a good card tomorrow
Rocket Lad looked good at Galway and stable in better form than Harrington stable.
2nd race- no idea
I’ve gone for Static Jack in the next – I liked him when Ellmarie Holden had him and think he should cope with the rise
Over the bigger jumps:
Sayo got a good word on the stable preview. I’m going to disregard Galway run; he just never got into the race and was left to his own devices
Little Robin de Carlow carries my money in the novice. Brahma Bull going for a school round at this too-short trip I suspect. Westland Row probably not up to beating the mare. Moon Over Germany possibly a touch flattered by his rating? The handicap looks a decent race. If betting going well and ground good I might put something on Valseur Lido for a place, didn’t run too badly for quite a way in the race at Galway.
Bumper- probably JOB horse I suppose.Good luck
Killarney
16.25 Rocket Lad 2-1 1pt win
17.55 Static Jack 6-1 1pt win
18.25 Sayo 10-3 1pt win
18.55 Robin de Carlow 11-8 2.5pts winAugust 23, 2019 at 19:22 #1451902Aaaaaaaaagggghhhh
Rocket Lad fell at the last in contention..OK it happens (live stream wouldn’t work so missed it, he was leading when my picture went).
Static Jack did nothing, fair enough (should’ve looked at the t1 next to the JOB horses)
Sayo NR…OK fine but
The annoying one…
I didn’t flipping flipping back Brahma Bull, as I thought he’d need a bit further and another turn or two over fences to get his jumping good enough.
Missed the race and just tuned in when the camera was on him being patted as he was unsaddled.Aaaagh!!
Sorry.
That’s life.
Feeling better now. And also: glad he got round safely unlike poor Pylonthepressure last week who, as I feared, did not survive his fall.
August 23, 2019 at 19:50 #1451913WD with Ballyoisin Jack- when he gets his ground he’s a smart horse
August 23, 2019 at 22:14 #1451936There’s a nice photo of Ballyoisin on the irishracing.com website, winging a fence in fine style.
And a really horrid one of Brahma Bull- head in the air, back as stiff as a board, legs dangling, big ignorant gob yawing at the bit. Well done David Mullins, you deserve the win….he is definitely not a push button pony.August 23, 2019 at 22:29 #1451942Well done Jack, hopefully Ballyoisin can get properly back on track this season.
August 23, 2019 at 22:45 #1451949a big fat zero
Pts staked 166.5Last of the big spenders me: putting a pound on an even money shot tomorrow.
She ran a good race at Galway behind a decent horse:5.40 Klb Little Nugget evs 1pt win
August 25, 2019 at 21:59 #1452194Downpatrick
3.25 Summer Hill 7-1 1 pt win
4.35 Make My Heart Fly 5-4 1pt winGot my eye on the Ryan horse as a future chaser.
About time the Elliot mare won a chase; she did so well over hurdles last summer.August 27, 2019 at 08:26 #1452237Riviera Sun’s fortunes revived at the weekend unhindered by my cash even though I had him in Jac’s comp. Hoping the same trainer/jockey combo can do similar with Monbeg Chit Chat
5.40 Ballinrobe Monbeg Chit Chat 16-1 0.5pt ew
August 27, 2019 at 14:50 #1452253Only catching up on the races now, had a wedding weekend and plenty of drink!
Ballyoisin did do it well- was surprised to see RDC lose to the Bull!
Listen Dear runs tonight in a really cagey race- hopefully she strips fitter and runs well. Hopefully she’ll have a good chance to run from the front!
I’d very much fear Ordinary World. Think he should be outright favourite.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!August 27, 2019 at 18:53 #1452259Stable website and price not suggestive of confidence but I’ve chanced your mare again

7.10 Listen Dear 2pts win 11/4
September 8, 2019 at 12:46 #1453177-4
Pts staked 171.5Itching for a bet today as I like Listowel but can’t find anything I like. Ask Susan probably rightful fav for the big race but too short considering various decent horses in there.
Have contented myself with Jan Maat w/o Wicklow Brave in the novice chase.4.10 Listowel Jan Maat w/o fav 5/4 2pts win
September 9, 2019 at 10:12 #1453224Worked out nicely GAG! I was underwhelmed by Wicklow Brave there, obvious to say he’s a fair bit better than that.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!September 9, 2019 at 18:17 #1453252Yes WB isn’t going to win the Drinmore jumping like that! Jan Maat jumped quite nicely and could pick up a decent handicap at some point.
Blazing Emily came second to a decent sort from an in form trainer at Galway. By Presenting but her dam was OK on soft.
2.05 Lis Blazing Emily 5/2 b365 2pts win
September 10, 2019 at 09:37 #1453291Agree on the Blazing Emily shout. Think she was given a little too much to do last time + at it paid to be prominent. Hoping her fitness can shade it over Barrington Court who has some above average form.
