I certainly do have a little dabble with antepost but I’ve tried to keep this Pick and Mix thread for my best value bets of the day. I may start another in the near future for antepost betting, I have a couple of fancies alredy for Chelt and the National.

With regards to explanations, I will start to try and elaborate on my selections, but unfortunately I’m usually pushed for time, so I’ll have to keep it brief.

Running off last winning handicap mark of 66 which he won off at Wolves in same grade and at same distance. Competitive race but this horse loves the track and will certainly needs things to fall right, but looks overpriced at anything above 12/1.

Previously running in much stronger contests than this, the trip will suit and very well handicapped with regards to his last run at Kempton, only beaten by 4 lengths by the winner off a mark of 78, and other placed horses going on to win off 78. Very well handicapped off a mark of 65, with a strong handler in the form of Ted Durcan on board.

6.00 Lingfield Army of Stars 2pts WIN

Running in a class 4 previous at Kempton, came up short (close up 5th) by just 2 and a half lengths to a very well handicapped Saint Pierre. Previous run he came second over the same distance off a 2 pound lower mark at Kempton.
Should go well.

Trainer thought this was a group horse, has clearly had problems in training, but this trip will suit. Still lightly raced and learning its trade, its close up second to Barq which has gone on to come second off 85. Should deal with the cut in the ground.

2.55 Doncaster Dubawi Gold 20/1 1 pt EW

Horse is progressive, ran on over 7f in a class 2 condition stakes, beating Big Issue by 4 lengths which has gone on to win and 3rd off a mark of 107. Has form with cut in the ground too.

4.05 Doncaster Alhaban 66/1 0.5 pt EW

Speculative punt on the basis of its second to Mastercraftsman in 2008. Didn’t run in 2009 so has had set backs. Has run in a listed contest and group 3 which is obviously too higher grade for the horse, but if Mr Harris has this horse back to fitness it looks over priced at 33/1 +. Trip and cut will suit.

4.40 Doncaster Classic Vintage 18/1 1pt EW

Back on winning mark of 90 when he won easily at Goodwood. Has bits and bobs of good form, over a trip that suits. If he is ready then he is overpriced.
