I think that is the ugliest Thoroughbred I’ve ever seen and sincerely hope it never sees a racecourse in its life.
Happy Days La La La la….. were looking for a person who doesnt like coloured race horses for the TV programme that the BBC are making about us perhaps if you have nothing better on that day you could volunteer ?
PM me if your up for the job.August 11, 2010 at 12:57 #312209It always bothered me that they used a chestnut horse in the film and not a piebald! Many years ago, when I was in the Desert Orchid Fan Club, I asked Richard Burridge if he could
paint a few black splodges on Dessie and remake the film, but he said it wouldn’t be the same without Liz Taylor. [Supposedly, it was an accident during filming that gave Liz Taylor the bad back that has plagued her throughout her life] Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, Pompete, and I adore coloured horses and would probably go out of my way to see one in a race. I suppose a worry could be that they would invariably have the dreaded ‘four white feet’, but I’m not sure how true to link with unsoundness is.
If ever you would like to visit the birthplace of Rummy and meet his mum and dad when hes famous heres your Invite. Best wishes
August 11, 2010 at 13:09 #312214I’ll hold you to that! I find racing quite magical anyway, but this has added a bit more magic. If racing isn’t about dreams, what is it?

August 12, 2010 at 06:53 #312342What will the Racing Post abbreviation be? Last time this came up was when a roan ran.
RP, very unoriginally, put it in as ‘ro’.
