Pompete
Thank you glad you like the photos, Angrove rumbaba name is now official colours arrived here this morning and I will let everyone know soon where and when.
hes learning his job well and is very well behaved and an easy ride.October 20, 2010 at 02:25 #323412I’m tired reading about colored horses. Surely the correct term for such horses is horses of color?
October 20, 2010 at 09:38 #323433Its perhaps difficult to describe when writing, dont you think? As in "my horse of colour" when you just say "coloured" technically it should be my pattened horse! or my Tobiano horse and not many people would know what was being said,
but then I dont want to get to technicalOctober 20, 2010 at 18:00 #323535How about pieball?
October 20, 2010 at 20:47 #323553Pinto is probably the best word. The term "coloured" when applied to TBs is also used for palominos, buckskins, dominant whites, etc.
October 21, 2010 at 01:55 #323586MRS W.I believe that we call them PAINTS not pintos to show our difference from those who speak in the Spanish Language.

A Paint is a stock horse breed.

http://www.ukpha.co.uk/Pinto is a color pattern. There is a Pinto Horse Association, however it accepts horses of any breed (excluding drafts, mules, and Appaloosas) with white splotches. It could be compared to the British Skewbald and Piebald Association. All Paints are pintos, but most pintos are not Paints.
Anyway, many equine colors and patterns come from Spanish (palomino, cremello, perlino, grullo, overo, tobiano, sabino, rabicano).
October 21, 2010 at 12:52 #323658I think Rummy on his passport has Painted Skewbald, as Weatherbys now use the term Painted so we fall into line with the US,
October 27, 2010 at 17:40 #324929Angrove rumbaba will now debut in 2011 we were advised this morning that he really needed a couple more weeks of training, and we have run out of races for him and as hes young paul did not want to ruin him, if he had not had to have the last week of july off and three weeks of August he perhaps would have made it on the track this year.
October 27, 2010 at 19:47 #324974Good luck , I hope he winters well, and I applaud your patience and hope that you are rewarded for it. Always best to put the horse first in my view
