Yeah, it’s been insane mate, easily my most profitable season ever at this stage, though waiting for the inevitable slump, but enjoying it while I can.

Was facing that old problem of too many selections for Sunday, but after today, happy to go for it.

    Leopardstown
In The Paddy Power, as per big races, I’m with Ten Ten, and Lock’s Corner. I want to add another, but I might just leave it.

My Champion Chase outsider Annamix runs tomorrow, and though not much point betting him tomorrow, I can’t leave him at 25’s. He’s never been asked a proper question over fences, but he certainly will in this one. I’ve mentioned many a time that I’m no fan of the G1 2 Mile scene, but this is a cracker.

It’s very hard to make a case for Recent Revelations in the 1420, but it’s been a few runs since I actually bet him, and with a break, I’m hoping to beat 22’s. The ability is there.

The 1345 is a nice race too, and I’m chancing N’Golo, who’s been good to Greenasgrass this year.

In the opener, I’ve got a shortlist of Next In Line, Flying Scotsman, and Dark Voyager, but no idea what to do.

    Kempton
In the 1505, I’m already with Erick Le Rouge Antepost, while one the 1540, I’m splitting Stakes with Eddiemaurice, and my old pal Sternrubin.

1205 Leopardstown – Next In Line EW
    1310 Leapordstown – Annamix 25’s
    1340 Leapordstown – N’Golo 14’s
    1420 Leapordstown – Recent Revelations
Paddy Power – Ten Ten 25’s
    Paddy Power – Lock’s Corner 10’s
1505 Kempton – Erick Le Rouge 25’s EW
    1540 Kempton – Eddiemaurice 14’s
    1540 Kempton – Sternrubin

Well done today Bob, some excellent picks there. Good luck tomorrow. My big hopes are Mitchouka and Didero Vallis, but I wouldn’t grumble with Myth Buster either.

I’m going to stay loyal to Nube Negra too, he’s a great ew price at Kempton.

    Thanks mate.

Good luck today. Not having a bet in The Desert Orchid, but think Nube definitely worth a go at that price.

What a difference a day makes, and it was hard going.

The only happy note was Ten Ten. I really did fancy him a lot, and he was easily my biggest bet of the season at 25’s. Thankfully I laid off my stake on the race before the off when he got punted off the boards, and it was a bullet dodged. He was bang average, as was Locks Corner.

    As for the rest…..

N’Golo, Annamix, Sternrubin, and Recent Revelations were all desperate

At least I know early that Annamix isn’t up to it, and I don’t have to cling on to any hope with my Antepost bets, while after leaving Recent Revelations well alone his last few runs, I’ll have to give up on him.

Hopefully better Monday, but that was tough going, but also a very welcome reminder that laying off is a very sensible approach.

    Bit more sedate today.

I’m hoping Limerick passes inspection, as I’m keen on Burning Ambition, but even if it does, I can see him being pulled.

Delta Work is the other Antepost pick, and I’ve got to be hopeful of a run for my money.

Western Boy needs no introduction on this thread, and though I bet him sparingly these days, and for all that he’s exposed, I give him a squeak on his Clonmel and Ballinrobe runs.

The Storyteller really shouldn’t be getting bet, as it could be a similar scenario to Annamix yesterday, where it’s not only a losing bet on the day, but a heavy loss could also see me rip up my Antepost ticket. If he does flop, I’ll obviously be hoping that Sire Du Berlais runs a big race.

At Newcastle I’ve taken Zabeel Star, who’s good enough to take this, and was given an interesting ride last time.

    1240 Leopardstown – Sneaky Getaway 11’s
    1315 Leopardstown – The Storyteller
    1350 Leopardstown – Western Boy
    1420 Newcastle – Zabeel Star 14’s
    1425 Leopardstown – Delta Work 6’s
    1445 Limerick – Burning Ambition 25’s EW

More encouraging today, and though the never sighted Burning Ambition was biggest bet of the day, Western Boy wasn’t too far behind, and I made a nice profit on him, though the win would have been nicer.

Small EW return on The Storyteller at 9’s, but not a big bet, and it was a few quid. More importantly, I thought he ran a nice trial for The Stayers, and I’m still hopeful.

Could’ve got money back in running for Zabeel Star, but it was a fairly small bet, but I can see a bigger bet coming on him soon.

Delta Works jumping was patchy before he unseated, and Sneaky Getaway flattered to deceive.

After yesterday, I’m treating that as a good day, which sums up how bad yesterday was.

    Definitely back for more tomorrow.

I’m not betting in the big one, but having put up Saint Roi at 20’s, and then not taking it, it’ll be a difficult watch.

Another one I’m not betting is Dickie Diver at Newbury, but I’m very interested in how he fares on the comeback trail.

One I’m definitely betting at Newbury is Redford Road 10’s. I think the trip should suit, and it’s surely going to click for him soon. Long term I can see him being a Scottish National horse. I also like Get On The Yeager 11’s, and he’ll be backup.

Back at Leopardstown, and in the opener, I’ve no choice but to put up two “Midnight” runners, which I’m never that keen to do.

I’ve rarely bet Midnight Maestro 11’s, though I did rate him highly at one stage, betting him for The Supreme. Completely lost his way though, and ended up with Enda Bolger. I thought I was missing out on him last run, when he fair caught the eye, but he eventually faded. I’m fairly confident he can build on that.

Fiveaftermidnight 25’s is more straightforward. She’s quite simply inconsistent, but if in a going day, she can easily surprise here. Can’t be worse than last time.

In the mares hurdle, I was fairly hopeful that Mary Frances could make the frame, but I was hoping for bigger. Haven’t Duke her out. I’ve got big hopes for Stattler, and I’ll hopefully see a good run in the 1240, for all I’ll not be betting him at a short price.

In the 1500, I’m definitely chancing the outsider She’s All Vintage 25’s. Out the handicap a few pounds, but I think he’s got potential here, and looks underrated. Non Runner

Over at Limerick there’s a loud one running called Take A Punt. He’s an old notebook horse of mine, and though he’s not won, he’s really paid his way in running, as he travels well through his race. It’ll be usual approach with him. Non Runner

Finally at Kelso, and around 17-2 (I’m hoping he drifts), is that old monkey Rock On Fruity.

Rough prices just now, haven’t bet yet…

    1205 Leopardstown – Fiveaftermidnight
    1205 Leopardstown – Midnight Maestro
    Both EW 6 Places
1322 Kelso – Rock On Fruity
    1440 Newbury – Redford Road
1440 Newbury – Get On The Yeager

    Really decent day today.

That was the best run I’ve seen from Midnight Maestro in four years, he did it really well, and having taken 12’s, I was delighted with the SP of 16’s.

Took 8’s for Rock On Fruity, and though hit with a R4, delighted with him.

To top it off, decent profit in running from Redford Road. He looked a cert before emptying quickly, and probably one to be wary of for now.
