I wrote on here last year I thought Bob Olinger should go for the Champion hurdle but I guess when you have Honeysuckle in the yard you are going to look elsewhere

Tizzard if you look at my posts i was happy with the win and also acknowledged it was fortunate and sympathised with GDC backers.

Kris, I don’t really mind the fastest fingers in the west thing – I just zone it out- though I can see how it might grate. It’s just the , um, unconstrained delight when his fancy climbs over Bambi’s fallen body.

Mind you perhaps Mike is improving. It’s usually “Get in at (some massive AP price)!!!” but the price was missing today so he has a racing fan’s heart in there somewhere.

The strange thing is that on Betfair Bob Olinger traded at odds on for much of the race until his mistake at the top of the hill. The exchange players must have been watching a different race to the one I was watching.

It was just unfortunate. Any criticism of Townend is harsh.

I think Bob could end up a bit like Envoi Allen. Everyone thought he was a superstar over hurdles but Gallard Duu Mesnil turned out to be bang average and Bravemansgame is a much better chaser. Any chance we overrated last years Ballymore?

When you’re on a horse that jumps without much exuberance, then slowing to jump the last supposedly safely can be a wise thing to do.

When you’re on a naturally bold jumper who’s jumped all the other fences that way, the safest thing to do is not to slow… And compared to other jumps he did not stand off that far. Actually jumped the fence well, just crumpled on landing.

Going forward, as long as his confidence is not dented GDC’s way of jumping will be more of an advantage than Bob Olinger’s.

If he’s ok, he’s booked to do an Allaho ’21 in next year’s Ryanair. That was spectacular to watch.

“Kris, I don’t really mind the fastest fingers in the west thing.”

Lol FF91 said that on here initially. I took it as a bit of light hearted amusement and compliment all in one go.
