I hate to be the bearer of bad news but My Titania has been ruled out of the Guineas, very hard luck Boz

Just heard mate, it’s what brought me on here to comment

My luck at the moment I suppose. They say it was only a minor thing and they’ll have her back for the Irish equivalent so that’s one positive. Nightmare though, not the first time it’s happened to me recently!
May 1, 2014 at 20:02 #477510Your King is here to help Boz,I’ve been there seen it and got the T-shirt.What I can say is you have to compare how many times your judgement is right and you get a run and how many times your horse just doesn’t even get there, that is Ante-Post betting for you.It certainly isn’t suited to those who cant see past there noses but if you rate yourself as a decent judge of a horse you will succeed. This is the time you have to come out fighting just like I did in the Gold Cup.TAPK leads by example. In the 2000gns I believe Group 1 winning 2yo form is crucial that means you can run a line through both ‘Kingman’ and ‘Australia’,I like
Toormore
8/1 and
War command
9/1,both are over-priced.In the 1000gns I have only backed one filly for the past 9 months and wont be backing anything else such is my confidence in
Tapestry
at 10/1 (Hills).

Tell me about it mate, I was still wearing my t-shirt from
I’m not taking it hard mate, it’s one of those things although I was looking forward to her taking her chance. You’re not getting rid of me that easy
I’ve never been a fan of
War Command
but respect his chances more now with Ryan Moore on board.
Toormore’s
a ridiculous price for an unbeaten champion 2 year old who’s a course and distance winner and rated highest of the lot. He’s had far too many sceptics since the Craven, that run did nothing to put me off. He’s the each-way bet but I really can’t see past
Kingman
, I think he may be a class apart.
All the best with your
Tapestry
Gord. I’m not mad about her chances but certainly wouldn’t rule her out in a wide open race.
May 2, 2014 at 03:02 #477545Hard lines Boz, I thought she was short at 8/1 but who knows in an open year.
I believe Kingman will dismantle this field on Saturday. A Gosden horse winning as early in the season can only go on from that and most of the opposition are grasping at ifs and maybes from echoes of last season.
I am on Toormore at 20/1 but don’t expect to collect. Nothing wrong with the horse but I don’t think he’s fast enough.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

Yes that assumption almost caught me out too Steve.I went out my way to be at Newmarket for
Toormores
seasonal return and visually speaking I turned to my brother and said "He’s good,he’s game but he wont win the Guineas".On returning to the winners enclosure it was quite apparent connections were delighted with the horse who was most definitely not tuned to the minute.I did think
The Grey Gatsby
ran a blinder too,he was very edgy in the paddock and going down,I see he is available at 100/1 for tomorrows race and in the Ginger world of betting would be my 3rd choice at the price,he has some sneaky collateral form.Anyway having watched the re-runs over again I felt ‘Toormore’ ran right up to par with your average Guineas winner. Is tomorrows field average? Well both ‘Kingman’ and ‘Australia’ have had plenty of good press so possibly not but they just dont have the form in the book yet! What really did bolster confidence in
Toormore
was having a chat with guru James Willoughby at Nottingham recently,he told me the last 3 furlongs of the Craven were clocked at a Guineas winning pace so taking all things into consideration your 20/1 e/w I hope looks outstanding….Bit like mine last year on ‘Dawn approach’
Good luck.May 2, 2014 at 09:03 #477559Thanks Gord, I’m on win only with Toormore though. I usually prefer to back another horse, rather than go each way. I have backed Kingman at 9/1 as a saver but to a smaller stake, so Toormore is the one who’ll pay for the bourbon on Saturday night.
I’ll be as gutted as an Arbroath Smokie if Australia wins this. I have thought him to be rank value for a while now and we have to base his chance on a 4 runner race and trainer comments.
I hope Kingman wins in style if he prevails and becomes a dandruff horse. (Head and Shoulders above the rest)

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
May 2, 2014 at 20:47 #477662A couple of bets for tomorrow. Firsty I like the look of the improving
Big Baz
in the first. This half brother to
Giofra
is making his turf debut and he looks a decent each-way shout at 10/1 with Paddy Power’s five places.
I’ve also had a cheeky treble with
Sole Power
kicking things off. He gets in this without a penalty and is race fit after his early season Meydan stuff. He scythed them apart in this race last year and with his conditions 4/1 looks a good price tomorrow. I’ve chucked him in with
Kingman
who I won’t waste anyone’s time talking about and
Cloudscape
. This lad’s another improver who, although maybe a little bit backward to take up his Derby entry, I can see excelling over middle distances this year. Will he be the customary last minute Rothchild King George entrant? Time will tell but I think he can improve to that level.
Finally I’ve gone to Uttoxeter for the first there and taken
Germany Calling
to fire in lesser company. I expect him to do so without a hitch and have him with
Kingman
as well.

Unfortunate today as I thought
Kingman
had got up right until the very last second. I thought the winner would have been suited to the French equivalent more but credit where it’s due connections obviously knew something.
As for this
Cloudscape
, he’s got about as much chance of lining up in the King George as I have of riding him!
May 12, 2014 at 13:18 #478856This
Odeon
looks a decent type in the Dante. Being a full brother to
Kite Wood
he’ll probably enjoy it becoming a stamina test. His royal blue bro also won on soft so he should handle it ok. It looks a fair race and I’m probably looking at it too hard to find another
Libertarian
to come out the pack from left field. I’ve had an each-way nibble anyway, could be value if he’s anything.
May 15, 2014 at 18:17 #479125These long-shots are coming to me thick and fast…..not that I’m hitting the back of the net with any of them
All is well though as I’m only going softly softly at the moment while the season gathers momentum. Tomorrow I’m giving York a swerve (although I thinkCubanita’s
got a decent chance in the Yorkshire Cup) and eyeing up the fillies at Newbury
I had every intention of having a few bob onLahinch Classics
until I worked my way through the field and stumbled upon the supposed nag,
Grace And Favour
. All common sense would tell me to swerve the once raced maiden at 25/1 in a black type race but as per I’m feeling a bit crazy and believe she’ll come on leaps and bounds for her debut spin. The better ground will also be a plus for this full sister of
Fame And Glory
and her debut also has some decent lines through a couple of recent Classic trials. No big money involved here, I’m being sensible for the time being
Christ I could do with some wonga though!June 10, 2014 at 10:52 #481891Boz i am very happy with my AUSTRALIA at weekend never in doubt once he hit the front.
Suprise you not been updating this thread how you been
And question for you who win epsom derby next year look at entries like these so far

SIR ISSAC NEWTONJuly 20, 2014 at 08:55 #485998Boz,I hope you are on
My Titania
today mate and more importantly alls well with you. Cheers,Gord.
July 20, 2014 at 14:58 #486014A bit disappointing from My Titania today but I didn’t think much of the ride she got. She was always going to have to quicken quite smartly from when she started to race in earnest and I thought the jockey was less than inspired today.
In contrast Ryan Moore was brilliant on Mango Diva. She was always travelling a bit less well than he would have liked and she was niggled along. He got after her in his usual style and she came with a withering run. I would imagine she traded good odds in running
Hope you are having less frustrating times than My Titania is.
Cheers Tom.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
August 24, 2014 at 19:59 #489152BAZINGA! To all that have asked after me and spoke to me I do apologise. I shall return this autumn brighter and bubblier and brimming with bollocks as per. It’s been an unusual summer, one I wouldn’t care to elaborate on as a lot has happened but one thing is a certain – BOZ IS BACK!
