    I mentioned this

    Munaaser

as an unraced colt to follow on the 14th of May last year. I stand by that prophecy

Next time you see this fellow,he’ll be a Gelding, whether that makes him a better horse remains to be seen but I wouldn’t touch him with your money Boz after todays ‘performance’.

He did stop very suddenly Gord. The Hamdan horses seem very difficult to call right. There’s been several in recent memory with enviable profiles that just don’t go on to ‘be’ anything. Is the breeding operation flawed? :?

Racing from both jumps and flat headquarters tomorrow, but weirdly it’s a maiden at Dundalk that’s got my attention the most. There’s been bits and pieces money for my Oaks longshot

    Ruby Tuesday

for Epsom, so I’ll be watching with interest to see if she can build on her promising debut run.

    Also a couple of nice

    Sea The Stars

fillies running tomorrow evening that could be worth keeping an eye on.

    Alarming drift on Betfair for

    My Titania

I’m hoping this is more down to weather than any problems with the filly. A dry week will hopefully put paid to the doubters. If we get her there and the ground’s riding good there’ll be no stopping my girl…..I hope! Major day for me next Sunday, please be a champion!

The countdown is on. Who shall write their name in history this weekend and become the first Classic winners of the season. Well for starters, despite me previously downplaying his chances, I see

    Kingman

as a cert for the colt’s running. His Greenham display was nothing short of breathtaking and his transformation from 2 to 3 has been marked. It looks a hot renewal and I’ve always had a good word for

    Toormore

but I think the Gosden horse is a bit of a star.

    Toormore’s

claims shouldn’t be taken lightly though, remember

    Sky Lantern’s

trial the same week last year?

The 1000 looks another puzzler and there’s a handful in with a shout.

    Rizeena

has been the buzz horse for the last few weeks but I think she’s more than worth taking on. She showed a high level of form at 2 but not to a level that I couldn’t see an improver surpassing her. Every man and his dog knows that I’m firmly in the

    My Titania

corner here and I just hope that they don’t go overboard with the watering. If she’s progressed as I hope she has I still think she’s value and I won’t be deserting her. Saying that I’m most definitely clutching my 25/1 vouchers without a steady hand, it could be anyone’s! :?

Well hasn’t Punchestown crept up! Been getting a bit ahead of myself talking about the Classics and forgotten to give any word for my second favourite racing week of the year. The only bet I’ve had going into day one is in the 4.55, the 2 mile handicap hurdle. This

    City Slicker

has pretty much failed to show in any of the decent handicaps he’s so far encountered. I get the feeling though he’s constantly had conditions against him and could still be ahead of the handicapper off 138. This fella will appreciate the better ground and the return to this place will definitely suit as he seems at home here. He’s got the burden of top weight and apparently being the stable second string to overcome but that matters little to this judge. I’ve gone in each-way and I’m sure I’ll get a good run for my money at 20/1. Game on 8)

I think City Slicker would be capable of getting involved at his best but his latest run was so shocking I’d need to know if there was a reason before having a bet. Maybe a return to better ground will bring about a return to form.

He certainly has questions to answer Tommy but I think he’s been running in unfavourable conditions all season. The hood that seemed as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike is off today and, like you say, spring ground should be in his favour. He’s three from three at Punchestown and unless he’s running blindfolded i can’t see how he’s a 25/1 shot.

I see Mr Segal’s had your lad in the same race Tommy. I hope he runs into a place for you :P All the best for the week mate.

Not usually a bad thing getting a 20/1 place but today felt like a kick in the b*llocks. It looked for all the world as if Townend had judged it perfectly and thought he was just going to pinch it until man of the moment Mr. Geraghty came looming large at the last. Not the worst thing in the world returning £60 anyway. I pulled £50 straight away and had a ‘cock ‘n’ hen’ double on

    Don Poli

    and

    First Lieutenant

    (yikes!) for tomorrow.

To keep it brief I really like

    Don Poli

and he left a big impression on me at Cheltenham. I’m sure his future lies over fences but he’s progressive and could add another ‘1’ to his form.

    What’s left to say about

    First Lieutenant

? We’ve been to some dark places me and him and I did say never again. This looks easier than Aintree though and the first time time blinkers could help (fingers crossed!). He still has his ground and surely he HAS to win eventually, doesn’t he……..? :?

I’ve taken 6/1 Boz in whats a 2 horse race, trouble is the other horse is

    Boston bob

and it depends which ‘Bob’ turns up.We know ‘The Lieutenant’ will run his usual race but he needs to take the sting out of the others as he doesn’t have ‘Bobs’ burst of speed. Our fellow has his ideal conditions today Boz so Never say Never mate! Good luck it should be a cracker.

Nice one with City Slicker Boz, when it became apparent The Game Changer was going to place at best I was willing your fella to the line but man of the moment Barry Geraghty timed his run to perfection.

I have to say I agree with Gord on the big race today, and I’ve done a Ginger on it and backed both Boston Bob and First Lieutenant :)

    I never really ‘got’

    Boston Bob

Gord but he delivered the goods today under a usually patient stellar Ruby ride. My double died on it’s *rse (just!), although I went in again on

    First Lieutenant

with Paddy Power’s runner up refund. Money back will do but I think I’m done with the horse now, he really does seem the ‘nearly horse’ sceptics claimed and I always denied he was  He may get an opportunity again but I just don’t think he can quite cut it at the top. Still love the horse though.

Cheers Tommy. Thought he’d got away from them for a minute but ye time seemed to stop as Barry loomed.

Well done for a grand day as well mate :D

Boz,if ever you saw an absolute natural for the Grand National its

    First Lieutenant

,I’ve been offered 33/1 for next year,he could carry top weight easily and just lob round, this horse doesn’t ever look like falling. GET ON!

Jumping wouldn’t be the concern in the National Gord, he’d never see it out though!

Being the keen observer I am I’ve been paying plenty of attention to the start that

    Scorpion’s

made as a jumps sire, as I believe he’ll turn into a leading name in years to come. There’s not been an awful lot been seen out yet, although Nicky Henderson’s

    Blue Fashion

was a decent second when giving weight to

    More Of That

at ‘Headache Park’. In the last tomorrow there’s a couple that interest me though, in

    Tell Us More

who’s already acquired Neptune quotes and one I’ve had in ‘my stable’ on SportingLife for near enough a year in

    Honkytonktennessee

. Both intrigue me and I’ll be watching with great interest tomorrow. The latter might be worth a small each-way as the Mullins horse will surely be very short.

Tell Us More is meant to be a serious horse, be interesting to see how he copes with the better ground tomorrow.

    That blighter

    Tell Us More

is a non-runner so I’ve looked at other options to keep the money ticking over. My old mate

    At Fishers Cross

looks an each-way bet to nothing today. It’s not normally my style to back such a relatively short priced runner each-way but providing he stands up there’s no way he’ll be out the places.

    Quevega

seems to have more questions to answer every time she runs and, should she be vulnerable today, it could be finally time for Curtis’ horse to get his nose in front. Otherwise, providing he places, it’s pretty much money back. Sounds easy enough.
