Ghaiyyath to me over 1 mile 2 furlong is a winner. The only problem is will the horse run but @2/1 that is a good price. If Ghaiyyath looks like it is going to run and if the price shortens I will still bet Ghaiyyath.
July 19, 2020 at 20:52 #1494456I had a little antipost on Highest Ground before his Dante run at 16s, sure he will turn out to be the best horse in that race and I’d still give him a chance here if he turns up. Kameko would really interest me at possibly his best trip. Big fan of Ghaiyyath this year but not sure he’s value this far out at 2s
July 20, 2020 at 07:04 #1494482I am actually trying to get on Ghaiyyath at 2/1 but don’t have an WH account and live abroad so its hard to open one. They are also best prices Battaash for the Nunthorpe at 11/10. Double pays 5.3/1
I wonder why only 2 bookies have priced this up?
July 20, 2020 at 07:37 #1494484Whilst I was all over Battaash at Ascot, based on his previous form there and early season form in general I’ll likely be againt him at York. The Nunthrope is a raced he’s bombed twice in. He was mighty impressive last time but that’s still 2/3 he’s bombed in. I think he was likely to be close to peak if not at peak for Ascot. It would’ve been the number 1 target for him this season. Everything else he does now is just a bonus. He’s also likely to run at goodwood so backing him now for the race after that at nearly evens can’t be value.
Even if nothing lines up to take him on at York much like Ascot I’ll be looking to an EW bet.
He’s just no evens shot at York, better to watch him go and do it
July 20, 2020 at 10:17 #1494494Battaash’s highest rated win ever was last year at York – the track is not an issue. Anyway! Don’t want to hijack this into a Bataash thread!
I think 2/1 is a cracking price for Ghaiyyath and 10f round York should be perfect for him.
July 20, 2020 at 10:54 #1494498Issue with the Nunthorpe is you have possibly 2 horses in Art Power (could race him at Goodwood first) and Sceptical who bring some good sprint form to the table. You’d hope one of them can be better than say an Equilateral at Ascot or a Soldier’s Call at York.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!July 25, 2020 at 18:47 #1495042LORD NORTH 8/1 for me it is
July 25, 2020 at 18:54 #1495045If Ghaiyyath runs he wins.
No more to be said. JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...July 26, 2020 at 16:26 #1495120If Enable runs here it will be some race with Ghaiyyath and with a 100% fit Enable could the placings be reversed.
July 30, 2020 at 09:32 #1495688Obviously a lot of talk about where Kameko will go next. I notice he’s 9/1 for the Marois. That would suit him and I would not be surprised after yesterday at all. What a race that could be v Palace Pier.
However, I do think they will end up here. They have said all along he’s a 10F horse, Oisin didn’t sound so sure yesterday but Andrew Balding was quite vocal recently about the Juddmonte being the main target.
Maybe they are a little scared of Ghaiyyath and considering options, but if they don’t let him take his chance they won’t really know his best trip.
The fact he finished 4th in the Derby does suggest 10F could be ideal. Roaring Lion excelled at York and it could just be the track and distance to play to his strengths.
It’s historically favoured the older horses this race, but recently 4 of the last 6 have been 3-year-olds. 10/1 is just too big.
Kameko 10/1
July 30, 2020 at 10:17 #1495694I took some 10s ew after the race.
July 30, 2020 at 10:17 #1495695Agree with the 10/1 about him. York is a very straight and even track with almost no hard luck stories in-running. He can race prominently up front and then start to accelerate from 3f out. The way he won at Newmarket makes me think track and trip will be perfect.
July 30, 2020 at 10:23 #1495696He won’t front run coz of Ghaiyyath. He will have a target to aim at in the straight like yesterday.
A 3 year old last year (Japan) beat one of the highest rated horses in Europe (Crystal Ocean), just like Ghaiyyath is. And as a Guineas winner as well, he wouldn’t be out of place in the lineup.
The Marois will likely come too soon. Change of plan can happen, but I doubt they will change course.
July 30, 2020 at 10:37 #1495698The Marois is only 3 days before the Juddmonte
July 30, 2020 at 10:53 #1495699Oh is it? Had it in my head they were further apart. Thanks.
July 30, 2020 at 11:38 #1495702All over Ghaiyyath for this as previously posted but 10/1 kameko certainly a great price and might have a small bet on him also.
August 9, 2020 at 07:26 #1496648Kameko heading to France next week ground permitting.
