I’d worry about the Arc also FF if he missed the break and couldn’t get an early lead that would definitely spoil it for him, he”s a pack leader.

Gladiateur I see your point if you were talking Carvill’s Hill but the opportunity to get close is surely easier in NH than in a flat race.
Ghaiyyath has such a turn of foot Buick just seems to press another button and he’s off again leaving all contenders treading air.
Anyway I hope they don”t try. JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...August 19, 2020 at 17:58 #1497867Excuse for Kameko that he didnt stay mile & quarter. The fact is he is not good enough against the likes of Ghaiyyath & Magical. Even if he goes back to mile, Mohateer & Palace Pier will beat him.
August 19, 2020 at 18:02 #1497869I think we could well get all 3 in the QEII but a lot will depend on the ground. That wasn’t Good ground out there today, Kameko maybe didn’t like it. QEII is not usually fast
August 19, 2020 at 18:15 #1497874@Frenchy – I would personally not run Kameko in QEII and prepare him for breeders cup mile in faster ground. Then winter break and prepare him for next season.
August 19, 2020 at 18:36 #1497881I think it’s hard to confidently say what happened to Kameko today. He looked like he didn’t stay but he might also have not liked the ground. He also seemed a little worked up before the race though and drifted immediately before it. Difficult to know where to go with him next. Will he suit a breeders cup? Not sure about that ..
August 19, 2020 at 18:43 #1497886I haven’t exactly lost faith in him, but he could well be one of those horses that needs the perfect race to pan out for him to win a group 1 again, ie a fast paced strong mile.
Well done Ghaiyyath backers, I should’ve kept the faith from Sandown. How do you beat him, he’s a machine. Of course a 20 runner Arc would be fascinating if he goes.
People refer to last year, but this horse is a completely different horse to last year. There’s no doubt now.
Magical ran her race again bless her! She, as I thought always gets beat when there is a top group 1 horse running against her. She’s a 6 times Grp1 winner, but she’s never beaten a top horse in those.
Lord North confirmed himself as average. That POW form stinks. Magical beat him easily and she is the ultra consistent form guide. Lord North is a 120 rated horse.
August 19, 2020 at 19:07 #1497890I used to think Frankel would win any G1 race over any distance. I think Ghaiyyath would win anything from 5-10f on any ground.
BUY THE SUN
August 19, 2020 at 19:10 #1497894Lord North an average horse …sorry that’s nonsense
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
August 19, 2020 at 19:29 #1497897Depends on the definition of average but in my context he is. 124 rated he is not…
August 19, 2020 at 19:31 #1497899Lord north lost a shoe apparently
August 19, 2020 at 19:33 #1497901And his rating….
August 19, 2020 at 19:59 #1497905How they rated him 124 for winning that prince of Wales does boggle the mind
He actually ran better than I was expecting today getting that close to magical especially if he lost a shoe
August 20, 2020 at 10:21 #1498015120 rated horse average Frenchy lol!? You are tough to please..
Awaiting the sectionals from the race, but to me it seems like yet again he’s been given a free one up front.
Very good horse, better than i expected, but i’d still be looking elsewhere Arc-wise.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!August 20, 2020 at 10:47 #1498020the problem jack is that ghaiyyaths cruising speed is so high one of the jockeys would have to ruin his chances of winning to get up with him for the first half of the race and would likely end up finishing last
A dammed if they do, damned if they don’t situation
August 20, 2020 at 10:53 #1498023haha Jack, yeah bit harsh maybe. Just mean in terms of top Group 1 horses. Lord North is not one of those for me, that makes him average. Which is a bit harsh!
August 20, 2020 at 11:31 #1498029I think the ground found out kameko. Magical ran another cracking race but 12f is her distance. I think she’d beat the winner over that distance. Lord north just not quite up to it. The winner I doubt will go to the arc as coolmore will ensure he doesn’t get his own way. Let’s wait and see how love gets on and the Grand Prix dearie then we will have a better picture of the arc.
August 20, 2020 at 13:11 #1498056That’s what i thought ROK was in there to do. Yes it’s team tactics, but let’s be honest, they do it often, and do it on the jumps too.
Coolmore could have easily used one.
