Thank you for that trip. Also will you be doing a Frankel watch this season enjoy that thread
And have a nice 3days at Newmarket next week will you take camera with you nice to see pics to.
April 12, 2017 at 21:13 #1296585Thought you would do Majoris yesterday Jac… Hugo Palmer, son of Frankel…. I didn’t really give it much of a chance on form.
I noticed, last year your first losing year, was due to backing Hugo and Frankels off a cliff blind at times. Just though I’d mention it and hope you don’t mind. Maybe something to watch out for because we all get attached to certain horses and it’s a negative a lot of the time. Good luck for the season!
Bloody 5 out of 6 in the last 3 days Theo!!! :) :) :)

April 12, 2017 at 22:18 #1296591Joni please tell me you did THE FRANKEL YANKEE today
4/1 4/1 and 7/4 if Tango Fire had won I would be making a bid for Eminent.

April 12, 2017 at 23:05 #1296596Thanks Nathan I just did a £2 Yankee today and I nearly didn’t get it on as Paddy Powers site kept freezing and it took me 15 minutes to get the 4 x horses onto a bet slip online..
I really want to thank Joni for flagging them up this morning on his Why Frankel Will Rule The World thread as I probably wouldn’t have seen them until they romped home as out all day…so thank you Joni and I know that if you had been in the Country you would have backed every single one of them.

Lots more still come the Flat Season has barely got off the ground

HI Jac – no I didn’t back a single one of them!! Blame it on Theo ;) – no seriously you can’t get a bet on in France and I would probably only have backed Monarch’s anyway. But well done you!!!!
On to today and I have a few bets at the two very decent all-weather meets. Sovereign Debt was so unlucky last time and though this is harder, I expect him to go close. There are very good words for JG’s Utmost in the biggie at Newcastle. Sutter County is ultra-consistent and he might just be able to slip his field back over 6f and is better value than the fav. To Be Wild is considered a Group horse in the making and I like backing Group horses in handicaps! Finally I expect Convey to have too much class for these rivals and he is apparently working very well.
£25ew Sovereign Debt – 6-1 – 3.40 Lingfield winner
£25ew Sutter County – 4-1 – 4.10 Lingfield lost
£50 win Convey – 6-4 – 4.40 Lingfield winner
£25ew To Be Wild – 4-1 – 3.25 Newcastle lost
£25ew Utmost – 7-1 – 3.55 Newcastle placed

SOVEREIGN DEBT holds on
Great start Joni
..now come on the rest and especially CONVEY as I have him left in a double, after 2nd Watersmeet, with Sovereign Debt. What a brave race he ran..thought he’d got boxed in again and then came flying with a wet sail, heart in mouth finish..

Thanks Jac! I almost didn’t back him as this was a harder race but he had fitness on his side and his trainer is absolutely flying isn’t she?! A good way to start what I hope will be a profitable week. Convey was all class and should be followed now that he has been gelded. Sutter County blew it at the start and then got badly hampered – his race was over after a furlong. To Be Wild was very disappointing. The Utmost race was a strange one wasn’t it? It seemed to fall apart a bit with the winner coming from well back. I would treat the race with caution but Frankie was very gentle on Utmost and I would expect to see better from him next time maybe over a little further.

April 15, 2017 at 14:23 #1296911So i was going to leave it alone today but there are a couple at Kempton I like the look of. Eltezam looked very promising a couple of years ago and he looks very interesting today now dropped into handicap company. I see there has been money for him as well. Johnny G has a couple of nice sorts as well who should be up to winning.
£25ew Eltezam – 4-1 – 3.10 Kempton loser
£50 win Laugh Aloud – Evens – 3.45 Kempton loser
£50 win Blending – 2-1 – 4.15 Kempton loser

So it really starts this week doesn’t it?! The Craven meeting – back to 3 days as it should be – and The Greenham meeting. I can’t wait. I’ll be there for both days at Newbury but can’t make Newmarket unfortunately so, Jac, I’ll be expecting your reports on what’s hot and what’s not from the paddocks! I have two small bets for tomorrow. I hope the Frankel colt will run well in the first but he is no price so I have had an ew on Sir Michael Stoute’s Buldan – who has been the subject of several good reports and is a big price. I have also heard good things about Godolphin’s Sound and Silence in the 2 year old race. More bets to come later in the week.
£25ew Buldan – 22-1 – 1.50 Newmarket
£25ew Sound and Silence – 7-2 – Newmarket 2.20"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"
April 17, 2017 at 22:56 #1297231I’ll cheer those on for you tomorrow Joni and sorry you can’t make it but I will certainly be taking notes and report back here with the best turned out, especially the two year olds.
The first race looks a bit of a lucky pin job so I’m sticking with Frankel’s boy Elysaasaat for Haggas and hope he behaves. Michael Stoute is such a master of getting these early 2yo races I wouldn’t be surprised to see his horse Buldan turn up and what a great price.
Good luck for the 3 days Joni..Jac x
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 18, 2017 at 19:45 #1297309So a good start to the week. I haven’t had a chance to watch all the races yet but glad to get a winner. I’ll have 2 bets tomorrow. I think you will see Frankie ride Seven Heavens a bit more aggressively and I am confident he will start to show what he can do if given his head. I also think Roly Poly is worth an ew in the Nell Gwyn – she did incredibly well to lay up with Lady Aurelia in the Cheveley Park and still only just miss out. If she is fit I think she will take some beating.
£75ew Seven Heavens – 7-2 – Newmarket 2.20 loser
£50ew Roly Poly 4-1 – Newmarket 3.35 loser
£25ew double"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"
April 18, 2017 at 22:46 #1297327Well done Joni with Sound And Silence, he was the best looking horse in the paddock and went down with a beautiful long stride, he’s going places this season.
running on into 3rd Areen Faisal for your notebook.Michael Stoute’s horse Buldan completely messed up at the start coming out with a jump and getting hampered, he did run on nicely at the end and in the paddock he looked the fittest horse in the race so expect better next time out.
Frankel’s Elyaasaat was coltish in the paddock so have to be excused this one, I think he fancied his chances with Jalela
Luckily I managed to scrape a winner in the last El Astronaute who rallied after losing the lead to win by a nostril.

Looking forward to going back tomorrow sorry you can’t be there to cheer your horses on Joni but I’m keen on both Roly Poly and Seven Heavens so hope they come home for you. Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 19, 2017 at 15:58 #1297391A poor day and a bit of a head-scratcher. All the talk was of Frankie leading on Seven Heavens, even JG said just before the race that he would be allowed to bowl along. The gates swing open and Frankie takes a pull and the horse once again pulls like a train! I’m not saying he would have beaten the impressive winner but he might have finished closer. Then Roly Poly runs a very strange race – getting completely outpaced before staying on. Not what you would expect from a filly that was quick enough to lay upsides Lady Aurelia last year! I have the feeling the O’Brien colts are more forward than the O’Brien fillies! Just the 1 bet tomorrow. I would love to see Eminent go well but I think he has a lot on his plate to beat the O’Brien colt.
£100 win War Decree – 9-4 – Craven loser

Good luck with War Decree Joni, he should go close if he’s trained on. I far prefer him to Rivet, who I have an inclination to lay.
I did Larchmount Lad at 9/1 and his form has had some nice little nods from horses he beat. He still looks a better call to me than the Godolphin maiden winner Benbatl at the the same odds of 5/1 currently.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
