And last but by no means least, the rain has come for Cracksman. I still think he should have run in the Arc but Frankie will make sure he is given every chance to prove his stamina. He will sit handy and then kick on at the top of the straight. Barney Roy will come for him but will be hampered by the ground and it will be left to Poet’s Word to throw down the final challenge. But the further he goes the better Cracksman gets and he will gallop all the way to the lone for a decisive win. That’s how it has gone in my dreams and my dreams are never wrong 😉

We weren’t far off in the end were we Jac?!!! An incredible performance. Thanks for the kind words Chalk Jockey BTW!!!

Just catching up on the other races from Champions Day and, apart from Cracksman, I have to say the performance that stands out is Hydrangea. Bateel is a total machine on soft ground and everything went exactly the way I thought it would. She sat in behind, absolutely cruising, and then burst clear of the field entering the final two furlongs for a decisive win……EXCEPT……that bloody Aiden O’Brien horse (who shouldn’t be running in the race as she was a miler who might just have won the Guineas if she hadn’t been sacrificed as a pacemaker) went with her, matched her stride for stride and then had the gall to outstay her!!! I would be very interested if she was to stay in training next year and think she could make her mark in the big 10/12f races…..and not just for fillies.

Thanks Wasps, Chalk Jockey and of course Jac for your kind words. Looking forward to seeing Elwazir tomorrow. He looked very promising last time out. Too short for a bet but must go close…

I’m just getting ready to go to Newmarket Joni and I’ll try to get a shot of Elwazir going to post if I can (bet they take him down early ;-) ).

Really excited to see all these 2yo’s today and sure there will be a future champ or champess amongst them.
7 out of the 8 races it’s more of a watching day but no point going racing if you don’t have a bet but not too large.

Elwazir will be my main bet today and I’m doubling him up with Martyn Meade’s horse in the last.
    2.55 Elwazir
    5.15 Ship Of The Fen

The first two fillies races I’m going for Hugo Palmer’s High Seas in the 1.15 and Left Alone in the 1.45 with an each way/forecast on Jonnhy G’s Timpani at 12/1 she looks quite useful.
That just leaves me 4 races to sort out on a really interesting card.

Will be cheering Elwazir home the loudest .. good luck..Jac :rose:

Thank goodness for Timpani yesterday – got my forecast home, the rest of the day there were a few interesting eyecatchers but overall the bookies had a good day at HQ.

I’ll post a picture of two of Elwazir later today on your Frankel Thread , he has some filling out to do (very leggy at moment) but a real handsome colt in the making, he will be much much better next season…had a great day seeing all the hopes of 2018 run. :rose: Jac

Thanks Jac – listened to it on the radio and sounded like he lost his action a bit racing into the dip. I’m sure he’ll fulfil his promise next year. Glad you had a great day x

Lovely looking horse Jac. Hopefully we can see what he is made of next year. I know Owen Burrows likes him.

Almost done for the year now but a couple of bets tomorrow, possibly one on Sunday and then there is the Breeders Cup to round it off. Tomorrow I like Raheen House in the St Simon Stakes. He does nothing but stay this one but I think stamina will come into play down that long straight on soft ground and he will take some beating. I also think Roaring Lion is too big a price. I expect one of my Derby horses, Saxon Warrior, will win but JG thinks of highly of my pick and I think he did well to beat Nelson last time. I know Jac is a big fan as well!

    £25ew Raheen House – 6-1 – Newbury 2.15 placed
    £25ew Roaring Lion – 9-1 – Doncaster 3.25 placed
    £10ew double

Good luck with Roaring Lion Joni, we both know what he is capable of and I do really like his determination to win – a real genuine horse and a battler who gives 100%.

Yes fingers crossed for that Jac. I’ll be travelling back during racing tomorrow so wanted to post my Sunday bet now. Nelson will appreciate the extra 2 furlongs and is a very good price and bookmakers think Ryan Moore has chose Delano Roosevelt. I think they have just stuck to the same jockeys as when they ran at Leopardstown when Nelson won easily and that he will become Frankel’s third Group 1 winner.

    £100 win Nelson – 3-1 – 2.35 Saint Cloud race abandoned

Only the French hey?!!! Can’t believe the owners and trainers went on strike!! Hopefully they will restate the race and Nelson will get a chance to show what he can do over 10f. How well was his form franked on Saturday….?!!!

What a shame Nelson didn’t get his chance to shine today Joni..surely after Roaring Lion’s magnificent run (Oh I so thought he had come to win) Nelson would have walked that race at St Cloud.

I rushed off and took 25/1 Roaring Lion
to win the 2000 Guineas straight after that race with Bet Victor and now he is as short as 10/1..something to look forward too through the Winter months and he looks an out and out Guineas type especially with his experience at the track… so very excited… B-)

Well it’s almost time for the flat to close up shop but what a great time we have had with all our Frankel runners and meeting with you at Newmarket…always a highlight :rose:
Breeders Cup up and coming but it’s always pot luck for me in that but hoping Roly Poly will win her race there.
Well done with your winning Thread Joni and enjoy your Ill gotten gains…those poor old bookies. ;-) ;-)

Thanks Jac!! We are almost there. A couple of bets lined up for the weekend and then that will be it. I can’t help having a little bit on Swiss Storm tomorrow at Newmarket. For a horse that was supposed to be running in the Guineas he must surely go close on decent ground off a mark of 86?!!!

    £50ew Swiss Storm – 7-2 – Newmarket 4.05 lost

A couple of my favourite two year-olds running tonight. September was so unlucky last time as she was continuously denied a run before flying at the finish. She has a wide draw tonight but she has loves fast ground and has a hell of a finishing kick. I think she could go close.

Masar ran really well last time considering he is a fast ground horse. He is nicely drawn and I think he will run a big race.

    £50ew September – 5-1 – Del Mar 9.35 placed
    £50ew Masar – 5-1 – Del Mar 10.50 lost
    £25ew double

A bit unlucky yesterday with Masar being given an atrocious ride by WB. September ran a gallant race from her outside draw and I would really fancy her in next year’s Classics if the ground is right.

On to today and the last day of the season for me. I have a few bets but I’m not going overboard as I don’t want to be giving back those hard-earned funds too easily!!

I have had a little bit on a Johnny G filly at Newmarket called Pioneer Sprit who is a big price for a horse that is unbeaten, beautifully bred and likely to appreciate the better ground.

Over in the States I have had bets in 4 races. In the Fillies Mare and Turf I have gone for two fillies that will be much better on the quick ground in Senga and Wuheida. My old mate Ribchester bows out tonight and he will take some beating if at his best. It’s a real shame that Ulysses has been pulled out and it obviously makes things easier for Highland Reel who should win but is no price. I’ve always liked Seventh Heaven and, again, she has her ground tonight and could run a big race. And finally I’m surprised that US Navy Flag is such a big price. Well-drawn, they might find it hard to peg him back.

    £25ew Pioneer Spirit – 14-1 – Newmarket 2.20 lost
    £25ew Senga – 14-1 – Del Mar 9.00 lost
    £25ew Wuheida – 11-1 – Del Mar 9.00 winner
    £50ew Ribchester – 4-1 – Del Mar 10.19 lost
    £25ew US Navy Flag – 10-1 – Del Mar 10.58 lost
    £25ew Seventh Heaven – 8-1 – Del Mar 11.37 lost
    £1ew Lucky 31 (excluding Wuheida)
