Best bit was when he said (I paraphrase) “people mocked the Shergar Cup when it was first proposed and look at it now”.
March 26, 2022 at 17:15 #1589906In fairness to The Racing League, it hasn’t got Captain Robbo behind it. A most grievous error from the relevant authorities.

March 26, 2022 at 20:01 #1589936Best bit was when Matt Chapman dropped his phone and we saw a blank screen, sadly we could still hear him prattling on about the oh so boring Racing League..yawn
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...March 26, 2022 at 22:06 #1589958As stated by me as nauseam, I thought the Shergar Cup was a dire insult to the great racehorse it was named after UNTIL….Captain Robbo took control of it here last year.
And while I still think the Shergar Classic Trial at Sandown Park has an infinitely more appropriate ring to it (Shergar won it by ten lengths in 1981 after all) I’d be looking forward to Shergar Cup 2022 if I knew the good Captain would again be TRF MC for it.
The Racing League, however, is beyond redemption.
The thing you’ll notice about racing is it isn’t football.
No footballs is a clue.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"April 7, 2022 at 14:46 #1591747Timeline: 14:28.
Commenting on the relative purchase prices of Knight Salute (£14K) & Pied Piper (£250K) Mick offered the analogy that the difference was like Samson and Goliath.
April 7, 2022 at 15:10 #1591762Alex Ferguson winning more trophies today than Manchester United have won in 5 years.
Nice to see him looking so happy after the health problems he went throughGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
April 7, 2022 at 18:33 #1591803Haha Seasider, I heard that comment but didn’t take it in.
Next time he uses it will come out as David and Delilah!April 8, 2022 at 02:25 #1591913Where does Mick Fitzgerald come from, would it be Kerry?

Thats absolutely class. Hope David never gets his hair cut, that slingshot will lose all of its power.

April 8, 2022 at 07:01 #1591923Massive Road To Damascus for me yesterday, the prolonged photo finish prompted me to turn the volume up and I have to admit I was impressed by Ed Chamberlin’s constant references to the Betfair Exchange betting and its implications, accurate and informative for the casual viewer and draws new people into the game and what it all means more.
Even better was Ruby Walsh’s forthright view that the most interesting bit of Stewards’ Inquiries is the bit they won’t broadcast – their post-interview deliberations, the decision and rationale among themselves for it.
It quickly got unbearable again after all that and was swiftly muted once more, but I decided Walsh was worth listening to, not least because he isn’t scared to challenge the establishment and ruffle feathers.

Destined to appear in Colemanballs in “Private Eye”.
He must have thought he was in Belfast.

Private Eyr no longer call it Colemanballs, now called Commentatorballs. A mistake in my opinion, ‘Trilby Dave’ being no longer with us shouldn’t ruin an iconic name.
Sorry for the interruption.
April 9, 2022 at 05:54 #1592267The obviously scripted “funnies” between the various members of the team are tedious and Brian Gleason’s contribution from the “ring” pointless.
Think they showed half a dozen horses in the paddock for the Topham and every other trainer is “Great” according to the screaming Plunkett. Overall their coverage of the sport leaves a lot to be desired for me but that’s what ITV want obviously.April 9, 2022 at 07:02 #1592276Have to admit I still don’t like most of it and the above stuff Yeats alludes to is pure cringe.

(I suppose it sounds a bit nicer than “rag” mind you).April 9, 2022 at 09:50 #1592310Agree with above. In their pursuit of what they think is a good programme, ITV have made it more about themselves than the horses.
Makes me laugh also when one of them has bit of a winning streak and they act like they are the messiah and the supreme knowledge and letting us know all about it until that run comes to end.
There’s so damn many of them presenting it’s no wonder from time to time there’s a bit of good fortune between them.
Today they’ll be at least a dozen presenters there, probably picking two or three in the big race which will more or less cover the field and you can be sure they’ll let us know which one of them picked the winner.
Who gives a flying …. anyway!
