“Finger wagging, nanny state stuff which no one watching wants to see. Why can’t we be allowed to watch the racing and have a bet without getting a lecture?”
Whereas you can’t watch a drama or entertainment programme on the commercial channels without being bombarded with ads for bingo, casinos, poker etc.
June 19, 2024 at 22:23 #1698792What’s happened to the singing? Always found that a notable highlight.
June 20, 2024 at 15:21 #1698908getting sick to tired of this lot doffing the hat …….
How was Gilded Water favourite for the King George V Stakes ….. trainers send horses like this to places like Chepstow when they are incapable of winning anywhere else in my opinion.
Nothing personal but glad it got stuffed
good luck to allJune 20, 2024 at 17:37 #1698949Yes, the endless toadying is very tiresome.
Speaking of which, I notice they haven’t interviewed Dettori about Moore beating his record!
June 21, 2024 at 17:23 #1699233Ed making the most of the chance to wollow in somebody’s tragedy during the royal procession today
June 21, 2024 at 17:49 #1699246Mark Hayes and Charlotte Hawkins soaking up the Champagne and free food wherever they can scrounge it. Even dipping into peoples picnics.

Can’t believe Luke Harvey ventured into that ‘Mosh Pit’ in his top hat and tails..looking like ET on a night out
sorry Luke love you really.: 😅🤣
Doubt any of them have even looked at a horse today.
Ed was still harping on about a ‘Royal Winner’ but might shut up now they’ve gone home.
June 21, 2024 at 18:08 #1699255Ed is the racing equivalent of Andrew Castle.
Megan looking lovely today though.June 21, 2024 at 18:13 #1699257Agree runandskip. The way he went on about Honeysuckle winning the Mares Hurdle and then added “And we won a BAFTA that day” was utterly tasteless.

“Ed is the racing equivalent of Andrew Castle.”
You have got that spot-on!
June 21, 2024 at 18:49 #1699278“Toadying”………I like that Tonge, very apt.
Vomit worthy at times with Chamberlain’s unabated gushing over the Royal family and anybody else of note.
No doubt trying to set himself up for an MBE if he can grovel enough to the right people. :)
Adele is a wonderful knowledgeable attribute to the ITV team……and I thought she looked great in her bright fuchsia outfit the other day.
Francesca doesn’t seem to be name dropping quite so much this week and I feel that she finds Adele ‘competition’.
Brian Gleeson irritates me with his McCririck style of presentation.
Mark Hayes and Charlotte Hawkins are poor, almost amateurish.
Luke is regarded as the teams buffoon and I almost feel sorry for him with the crap they get him to do. He’s obviously happy with it, presumably they pay him handsomely to do it and I suppose some people even enjoy watching it.
I didn’t used to care for Chapman too much, but this week he’s added to the presentation with his banter and questions.
They really don’t quite know what he’s going to come out with and he’s even had the usually cool and focused O’Brien flustered a couple of times.Overall the ITV presentation is excellent by comparison to what we get here. If racing enthusiasts require a more fact/stat/formal based style, then there are other options to choose.
Dettori is keeping a lowish profile in preparation for his return to Royal Ascot next season due to popular demand and being the ‘Peoples Champion’. ITV may not be covering him much this season, but they’ll be falling all over themselves next year.
June 22, 2024 at 00:10 #1699360Harvey living proof that ‘Broadcaster Of The Year’ means absolutely nothing.
I don’t feel sorry for him because he has managed to literally steal a living for god knows how long. Of course he isn’t alone. That was probably the most embarrassing sight I have ever seen on a racing broadcast, maybe any broadcast.
June 22, 2024 at 00:23 #1699365June 22, 2024 at 16:08 #1699593Gordon Bennett! … they’re milking it with that over-emotional kid with the dodgy fringe…
June 22, 2024 at 16:29 #1699598“That was probably the most embarrassing sight I have ever seen on a racing broadcast, maybe any broadcast.”
I’ve got family over so not got TV just sneaking off to watch my phone on mute whilst changing laundry loads for this (benefit of Flat over NH…races are over quickly enough for me to be plausibly separating one load of whites and darks and putting them on).
Did he actually go on a bouncy castle in top hat and tails?June 22, 2024 at 17:13 #1699623Maureen Haggas on SSR: “Cheveley Park are huge supporters of British racing.”
The organisation that has all their National Hunt horses trained in, erm, Ireland.
June 22, 2024 at 17:18 #1699625Ed if you are reading, STOP DRONING ON ABOUT TAYLOR SWIFT NO ONE CARES!
June 22, 2024 at 18:32 #1699655Well that ending from Matt certainly wasn’t choreographed!
Well done ITV, great performance this week.
