He ran very well on his first two starts this season without the headgear, TTM.
And the tongue tie has been on all starts this season. I think you’re looking at last season where the tie was left off on his first three starts.Agree, when important headgear is not used the handicapper should not drop them.
Value Is EverythingMarch 25, 2024 at 14:52 #1688247“WTTB looked to be cruising less than a mile out and was ready to be put into contention, when ‘mysteriously’ he seemed to find v little. Jockey didnt seem too bothered (by virtue of his body language).”
Although he finished best of all to finish 4th. Very odd ride for a 30 grand race but I wouldn’t be interested in backing the 11 year old next time out.
Going back to ITV’s Cheltenham coverage ED was at his annoying best. When Paisley Park paraded after the Stayers ED was commentating as though he’d been retired although he failed to impart the vital bit of information that he had actually been retired.
He then proceeded to retire Daryl Jacob, which turned out to be fake news.March 25, 2024 at 20:01 #1688292“He then proceeded to retire Daryl Jacob, which turned out to be fake news.”
Yeah that was a bit weird. He was quite keen to tell us that “this could be Daryl Jacob’s last Cheltenham Festival” on a couple of occasions. Sounded a bit crass. I hope when DJ eventually does retire, he does it the day after an ITV racing broadcast for minimum impact just to annoy Ed.
April 11, 2024 at 14:03 #1689714Ed getting the football analogy in after about 8 seconds of his intro today
April 11, 2024 at 15:54 #1689746ITV have no clue- they’re doing great stuff showing the Stewards Enquiry but haven’t told the viewers that what the jockeys are seeing and talking about are different pictures to what they keep replaying on the screen !!!!!!!
April 12, 2024 at 10:19 #1689906Why does Ed keep mentioning Calum Best? What’s he got to do with anything?
And he kept telling us Langer Dan could not get the race. He could if the stewards had taken Harry Skelton’s advice .April 12, 2024 at 11:25 #1689929Adele very annoying this morning regards James bowen on jonbon. He’s a quirky character and she thinks james didn’t ride him correctly. I’m all for calling out jockeys, but jonbon just wasn’t at it that day as luke pointed out. I do like Adele but please let’s criticise when it’s justified and in this case I dont think it was. IMHO.
April 12, 2024 at 13:40 #1689963I think we should encourage people to have opinions, even if they are negative. That’s against a background of wall to wall cheerleading.
For what it’s worth I think Bowen is a second rate jock, lucky to be picking up Henderson rides.

April 12, 2024 at 13:55 #1689966Jesus that was painful and the man got a job as a pundit on ITV.
The more I know the less I understand.
April 13, 2024 at 13:42 #1690228Ed’s a bit like Andrew Castle at Wimbledon naming all sorts of random people in the crowd and I am often clueless as to who they are. Ed is the same with the winning owners.
The more I know the less I understand.
April 13, 2024 at 14:54 #1690247David Maxwells daughters think he’s a moron ….. I’m not going to argue , anyone give me a price on a unseat ..

April 13, 2024 at 15:45 #1690265It is awful what has happened to Christian Williams’ daughter but this whole Kitty’s Light drama is wearing thin with me.
The more I know the less I understand.
April 13, 2024 at 16:33 #1690288I’m afraid I agree RTB. Just relieved the horse finished as the hype had an “According To Pete” disaster written all over it
April 13, 2024 at 16:55 #1690300I thought the feature that ITV did about Kitty’s Light’s background was genuinely moving and done well. It is a human interest story that lots of people will relate to, and I understand why it was covered.
But, as usual, ITV overdid it with the constant references and the hope of getting a big emotional “story”. I too felt uneasy about this in case something went dreadfully wrong. Thank goodness Kitty’s Light ran well and came home safe.
April 13, 2024 at 18:36 #1690338SSR has just run the advert for William Hill about getting a £1 free bet on the Grand National.
I can’t help feeling that is a bit pointless, 2 and a half hours after the race has finished…
April 14, 2024 at 15:44 #1690495I thought Williams (who always handles himself well) was a bit uneasy and uncomfortable about the level of focus on the story. It bordered on the intrusive at times.
This type of thing is almost becoming obsessive with ITV.
