I think we must all have our heads buried in the Cheltenham card looking for horses with web feet and flippers because not everyone can be making their way to the Cathedral of racing or is there some other reason for the uncanny stillness around some forums.

Talking of costs, can anyone give a breakdown of a day at Cheltenham.

a) travel
b) entry
c) the cost of food & drink
d) race card

I calculate such costs as a target to win before I break even.

a) If I am in my brother in laws good books I’d get 50% off the train fare – Taunton to Cheltenham return about no more than £20 with discount, brisk walking pace for me is about half hour from station to course.
b)Ticket free with rewards for racing.
c) Take own food and drink, they try and take it off me at gate but I tell them I had a kidney transplant and want to see the manager, they let me in.
d)race card I don’t bother with, buy racing post to read on train.

Good man Nathan, I am proud of you but I bet not many managed to do it for less.

Fancy they wanted to take your food from you but it reminds me of when my son was home from Oz and we went to Newmarket on July Cup day.

Altogether there was a group of us of about 20, it was very busy and we all got split up on entry. When we managed to meet up he was “steaming” because they wanted to take his camera off him. It was quite a nice one and looked almost professional and he wanted to get some family photo’s especially as he was on holiday and who knows when he will get back here again, if ever. How he managed to keep it I am not sure but knowing him well it would not be beyond him to threaten to sue them.

Give the ******** a job and they all become dictators.
