I take the Mirror rab123 and now wish I followed it with Quench Dolly but then again I prefer to miss those with apprentice riders.
Maybe quick returners QD being 3 days should only be considered when a claimer is riding.

Cooeee my little wombat…. this idea of yours teased me into delving a bit deeper using my own favourite racing journal.
I am not really interested in the “Tails” part of it because I have a crisis of confidence over horses that have had a long “lay off”, but I do like the other part of your system. So I have applied my own criteria to this idea and am using a totally different set of ratings and up to now, the S/R has been awesome…. I have more work to do to refine even further, but this does show some promise…. nice one young Willie….

Just as a point of interest I noticed during recent times when taking the D. Mail the Formcast Special Bet, which I guess is the daily nap almost each selection was the runner with the shortest time away from the race track of all those 78 top rated.
It would be interesting if any one had access to the results what the strike rate would be. I am guessing as profitable because this has been the MO for a long while and would only be favoured in this way because of it.

I have nothing against going to church or those who do but sending up a prayer to improve the quality of racing on offer can only be a good thing.
IMO what a load of junk it all is and when I see a horse racing again following an absents of over 4 years (1469 days) I wonder if this is some kind of record but I bet it is not.

I’ll be finished studying your “Tops and Tails” later today and I’ve changed the parameters quite dramatically… it’s an old system of mine coupled with the “Tops” part of your idea and it looks quite encouraging. I still have a bit of pruning to remove the dreaded thorns from this particular rose, but with a bit of tender handling, I think this MIGHT blossom.

Maybe you are correct MrE when telling me there will be 14 winners today but this is supposed to be summer time and both meetings are National Hunt.
50% of the races do not qualify 3 places.
2 races are “Bumpers” and one for conditional riders only.
Only a short while ago it was your good self that said you had too much respect for your bank and so have I (now).

Monday we are much about mid way through the month of May!
Top and Tails does little to float my boat today but for those who may possibly be interested: –
NEWTON GERONIMO (257 days) 7.00 Towcester – only 5 declared and showing as 1/5 favourite
ROAD TO DUBAI (9 days) 8.20 Windsor – 5lb claimer in the saddle, early 9/4f but 8/13 top 3 finish
The prices shown are from the early market and I mention only 5 declared and 5lb claimer because these go against my personal rules.

Morning Billy my boy…. interesting day today… I thought that I had picked out a nice winner with Swiss Cross, but I notice that it’s been withdrawn, so onto phase 2….

6.00 Towc… Riddlestown…. 1st @ 2.78….The above two appear to be the best bets…. but until I have completed my study, I need to bung these two into the mix (for interests sake)….
3.50 Brig… Shifting Star…. Placed @ 6.06….

Evening young Wills…. yeah ’twas a nice place bet. I ONLY ever use Betfair nowadays, I got fed up with having my bets restricted and I used to spend too much time chasing around different bookies, far too much trouble, so it’s Betfair prices for me and I always quote BSP so no illusions on what might have been, what you see is what you get….. as it stood, I got 6.06 for the place on Shifting Star.
It’s still touch and go as to whether I’ll be using those additional ones, I’m trying to find the time to refer back in history, but time seems to elude me…. I’ll get around to it in due course…

A point of interest. As I recall the 20 Fantastic systems booklet produced bt the Racing Ahead Magazine did include any top rated (Formcast suggested) racing again with 4 days. (I do not have the booklet to hand and relying on a fading memory)
ROCKNROLLRAMBO is such a horse but top rated with the Express & not Formcast.
