I think Colin has had one margerita to many on his summer holiday. He forgets to mention the legend.

No surprise Native River is being aimed at gold cup again. If your record is 3rd 1st 4th in the gold cup theres only ever one place you are heading for. I wouldnt give him a chance in the gc again but understand they have to go there.
September 10, 2019 at 00:10 #1453285I did think after their performances in the Hennessy/Ladbrokes that Native River & Elegant Escape would be suited by the Grand National more so than the Gold Cup however you can’t blame Tizzard for going for Gold. If any are aimed for the National it would similar to Neptune Collonges when they reached 12, probably.
Tiger Roll is going for win number 3 this time around, but let’s not forget he was run very close by Pleasant Company who fell last year, with better luck might be better.
However I’d be looking myself for any improving sort over the coming season.

Don't mess with mister in between.September 11, 2019 at 23:07 #1453515Krypton, good luck again with Step Back. I will watch him closely again this season, and he surely must get his head in front sooner or later. I agree though, I think he would better back at Sandown, rather than here.
I still really like One For Arthur at 50-1, and I could see me having a bet on him sometime soon.
The one horse who I think is really really overpriced is Cloth Cap at 66-1. I could easily see him being my first bet. I think that if he stays sound, he is a guaranteed starter here.
September 12, 2019 at 10:58 #1453733Cloth Cap could be a shout, Lemons – National already nominated as the target by Jonjo. Does need to win a nice pot to get his rating up though.
October 11, 2019 at 18:29 #1465607Yes LS3, I’m hopeful if you’re reading this.
I’m hoping for a big run at Chepstow tomorrow, that should do the business with his rating.
October 12, 2019 at 02:17 #1465658Cracking race that at Chepstow mate.
I’ll sit it out, but if betting, it would be Cloth Cap. Some price that for The National. Fingers crossed it goes to plan for you.
October 12, 2019 at 13:32 #1465731Cloth cap is def 1 I’ll be watching this year , concerned with the ground , settle for a good jump round before tiring close to home ….backed lil Rockefeller ….hey he,ll be fit .. Really hope there,s still a horse there ….can’t believe Ballyoptic is joint favourite …surely hell need another mile ?
October 12, 2019 at 15:33 #1465741Cloth Cap first run and he might have needed this, but has to do better if he’s going to figure in the National. Also prefer form in large chase fields. Will be watching him closely in the coming season to see if he can fulfil any of these conditions.

Don't mess with mister in between.October 12, 2019 at 15:38 #1465742I thought he was fine , price told you they weren’t expecting much , jumped fine then blew up , I’d be surprised if he was near match fit and he def prefers good ground ,thought Rockefeller was coming to win but again jumping cost him …don’t know where he hours now
October 12, 2019 at 15:51 #1465746I was a little bit disappointed, but I agree that Market vibes told me that he wasn’t ready today.
I’m sure there one or two suitable races in the coming weeks around the likes of Carlisle which might be suitable for him.
October 12, 2019 at 18:38 #1465767Good to see Whisper back over fences today. Wouldn’t read too much into his run with it being at least a mile short of what he needs and I wonder if they’re going to tactically place him with this in mind? He was Aintree bound before his injury/Henderson throwing a wobbly over his mark increase after the Hennessy. He’s already been dropped 11lbs and will likely be dropped some more after today. He certainly looked a likely type 2 years ago.
Lil Rockefeller silencing some critics with a good run today over a much more suitable trip on ground he doesn’t usually produce his best on. Can’t see them going down the Aintree route, but I needed an excuse to sing his praises!
October 12, 2019 at 20:37 #1465776Here,s hoping , love to see lil win some more races , I spent 6 months backing him for the stayers he was second in ….so close yet so far
November 3, 2019 at 23:08 #1473914Said earlier on here that I thought ELEGANT ESCAPES is a natural for the Grand National. So when I read the follow…
The Tizzards could have other Gold Cup strings to their bow in Native River, the 2018 winner, Thistlecrack and Elegant Escape.
The last-named was sixth in last year’s renewal and shaped most encouragingly when chasing home Ballyoptic in the Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby on Saturday.
However, his main aim this term could be the Randox Health Grand National.
Tizzard Jr said: “It was a lovely comeback run. He’s a dour stayer, as he proved in the Welsh National last season, and we are going to have to seriously think about him for the Grand National.
“You will probably see him next in the Becher Chase so he can have a practice run around there.”
Elegant Escape is a general 40-1 for the National, in a market headed by two-time winner Tiger Roll at a best price of 6-1.
I thought a plunge on EE at 40/1 EW with Bet365 (5 places) could be well worth it.

Don't mess with mister in between.November 4, 2019 at 00:11 #1473925I was delighted Any Second Now at Cork yesterday, couldn’t have went better.
He remains very high on my shortlist. I’m tempted by the 25’s NRNB, but I’ll hold off for now.
November 4, 2019 at 19:13 #1473991Ive got 3 each way APs at present. Any Second Now 33s, Elegant Escape 40s, One For Arthur 50s. If Red Rum 77 is right then EE and OFA will clash in the Becher which will be an interesting watch for me.
November 9, 2019 at 19:30 #1474455I’m a bit surprised that 40’s is holding for Give Me A Copper after that today, I think there should be more to come.
November 9, 2019 at 20:03 #1474457He jumped really well today esp the 2nd last but I he can be a bit guessy at times , he was obvs bang on today and hopefully he can build from here but personally I think he still needs to improve a fair bit , would he def stay the distance ? , hopefully we’ll see him over the fence before April
