Doubt it’ll be soft at all by mid Afternoon. Sun forecast to be on it all day, so likely good by 3.30, bar a few good to soft patches.

They had better start watering, then. ;-)

De Bromheads form is worrying me more than the ground for A Plus Tard currently. His horses aren’t finishing their races off well at all bar Honeysuckle and you could say that even she has been a few lb below her best.
The ground was pretty decent yesterday imo and I think today we’ll see perfect national hunt conditions.

I’m really sweet on Galvin for this. Course and conditions to suit. I think he’ll just outstay them all up the hill. Think Synchronised all those years ago. Stable form is a worry, but the best horses can overcome that.

The ground might be drying out, but it’ll still be a sight slower than it was at Newbury where Royale Pagaille ran a great race in defeat behind a horse who ran a similarly great race in defeat in the Ryanair in Eldorado Allen. That brings him into this for me and at the prices I think he’s well worth a second look.

I promised myself I wouldn’t have a third bet in this, but I can’t let Protektorat go at 11/1.

Al Boum to upset the favourites.
Best of luck to all :good:

Yes, Al Boum Photo to emulate Kauto Star and regain the Cup for me too.
    Missed the 12’s, sadly. :-(
    Best of luck to all.

    Agree with you, GM.

Even the two De Bromhead winners Honeysuckle and Bob Olinger imo were not at their bests.

I’d have been very keen on Minella Indo at the prices, but stable form puts me off a bit.
Elliott only has two winners also, but he’s had plenty who’ve run to form.

Therefore, although I’d have had both De Bromhead horses in front of Galvin if it was not for “Trainer Form” of the three market leaders Galvin’s chance has increased quite a lot today.

That said, Dan Skelton (Protektorat) and in particular of course Willie Mullins (Al Boum Photo amongst others) and Venittia Williams (Royale Pagalle) and Henderson (Chantry House) are imo in even better form than Elliott.

“Trainer form” Wilts, but it has gone too far now.

Chantry House will be lapped. A very safe place lay.

Brilliant stuff. The lack of pace and the drying ground no doubt helped but that was fab.

Back stuffed again I’d say. Like Champ.

They did fall into A Plus Tard’s hands a bit, seemed a slow pace.
