Huge mountains…..
April 28, 2021 at 13:31 #1538317Looking through the form for Punchestown today I was struck by how consistent Fakir d’Oudaries is. Bar his 4th in the Supreme as a 4yo (likely would have run in the Triumph but for Sir Erec) and a PU in the Savills when he probably had the lurgy, he hasn’t been out of the places in 14 starts for JOB, including win or placed efforts in 8 grade 1s. Ok his win in the Melling was essentially a G2 but he finished well there and also up the hill in the Ryanair (again flattered by running past horses battered by Allaho but still). He’s only 6 so I can see why they resisted stepping him up to 3 miles before now, but his pedigree seems OK (same sire as Clan des Obeaux and same damsire as a few decent stayers). I’m backing him today and for this.
Fakir d’Oudaries 66s ew
April 28, 2021 at 15:45 #1538343I think he is the most consistent horse in training at the highest level.
66s EW is a great bet and you can be sure Joseph won’t be afraid of running him in the GC.
With my remark about huge mountains, I was refering to Envoi Allen when he was still 8s for next year’s Gold Cup. Sadly, we might never know how good he can be.
September 21, 2021 at 20:58 #1561153Monkfish out for the season unfortunately
September 21, 2021 at 22:32 #1561156It’s a shame as he looked an absolute weapon , hopefully he comes back but whether he,s the same horse ….
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
September 21, 2021 at 22:38 #1561157Oh well, that is my first Cheltenham 2022 ante post bet down the drain.
September 22, 2021 at 00:20 #1561164Shame and with it being a tendon injury even if he does come back he may not be quite the same horse he was and was shaping up to be.
September 22, 2021 at 13:02 #1561175Yeah thats a good few free bets down the drain for me already
September 22, 2021 at 17:30 #1561203The injury to Monkfish is probably a good reminder to be careful, but I have two early bets, Chantry House at 14-1, and Next Destination 80-1 ew
September 22, 2021 at 17:55 #1561206War I don’t know why but I just dont like chantry , everything went his way at Cheltenham , he may need decent ground but I want to take him on during the winter
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
September 22, 2021 at 19:47 #1561218Got to be Espoir De Romay at 40s over Chantry House at 14s, surely?
September 22, 2021 at 20:26 #1561220I haven’t heard any immediate plans as yet, but Eklat De Rire would interest me at 66s. Proper stayer and generally jumps well. Henry obviously is well stocked in the GC department, but i can’t see where else he goes, bar a National.
