Well done Big G. Great score. No runners & no luck in bonus race but they have finally cottoned on to Mubtasim so my score is now 3060 – 616th

Thanks Jac and Tonge, just in case you thought there were 3 weeks still to come Jac, as you mentioned
looking forward to the 2 weeks in March, there are just the 2, 28th feb and 9th March. So as long as
you have held onto 2 swaps you are well covered :good:

    @BigG
Just to clarify we have 2 plays left up until we need our final stable in place for….
    World Cup Night
    Saturday 30th March
Super Saturday on 9th March is the big prep meeting for the World Cup and the 28th February is the last Thursday of Dubai Festival racing a regular meeting being held on Thursday 14th March.

Ah, I’m with you now Jac, you were just looking forward to the World Cup late in March along with the
Super Saturday on 9Feb, I thought that you thought that there were still 2 days of the competition in March. As usual I got the wrong end of the stick. Groveling apology is in order :rose:

Reading my post again Graham it did sound like that LOL and you were right to question it. Last thing we want is players using up all their swaps before the big day  At least we’re all singing from the same hymn sheet now. ;-)

We’ve been thinking about going to Dubai for a while now and have finally booked the flights.
It means that I will miss Cheltenham as we’re going 11th-16th March but we are staying for 1 night at The Meydan Hotel on 14th when there is a race meeting. It won’t be a Festival qualifier meeting but I didn’t think there would be any racing that week so really happy that there is.
My hubs not a great racing fan but even he said we couldnt go without visiting the racecourse  well actually it went more like his life wouldn’t be worth living if we didn’t go. ;-)
The rest of the time we hope to explore the city and chill out on tbe beach. B-) .. I’ll be thinking of you watching the Gold Cup at Cheltenham Graham when I’m trackside at Meydan getting sand kicked in my face as tbe horses thunder past LOL.. :rose: Jac

Wow Jac, off to Dubai !!! that’s absolutely amazing news :yahoo: Even better that there
is a race meeting that you can take in whilst you’re there. I’m in the same boat as you Jac,
in that my good lady, like your hubby, is not into racing. You’ve got me thinking now about
maybe taking in some exotic location, coincidentally as there just happened to be a race
meeting  I think Mrs G would be more inclined to visit gay Paree around Arc time,
Dubai would be amazing, but the one I’ve always followed, and sat listening to the Ozzie
radio banter for half the night is the Melbourne Cup. It’s a race that’s just captured and
captivated me for years, and it’s normally me and Moe sharing posts in here up til about
half four. Maybe I should put it on my bucket list before the great steward in the sky call
me to stewards room for a proper dressing down for all that I’ve mucked up in my three score
    years and ten

Remember to get some good photos at the track that we can have a butchers at when you get
back, and maybe bag a couple of winners too :good:

Still can’t quite believe I will be there Graham, but would definitely say go for your dream and book that Melbourne Cup or Arc trip with Mrs G. as long as there’s a race course in a beautiful city why not share tbe best of both worlds without feeling guilty.

There is no actual betting on the racecourse so I presume I can use my PP account online, but even if I can’t Im just going to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the experiences. :good:

There is a Godolphin Stables about 2.5 miles away and was hoping that there might be a tour so will contact Hotel to find out, tbey should have all tbeir best horses there for the World Cup and Im hoping we might catch some having a gallop round the course on tbe Friday morning before we leave.

I’ll try my best to convert Dave to become a racing fan but already know the odds are against me.

Hoping to get some good photos and post up one or two when we get back and hoping to hear all about your trip to Cheltenham, who knows you might be able to book that Melbourne Cup trip sooner than you think. ;-)

Back to reality… I’ll update the Leaderboard on Sunday or Monday and look forward to seeing tbe decs for next week…good luck and thanks for your good wishes…Jac

For the record (and don’t bother updating as we’ll never keep up), I have moved up to 615th. Not sure what’s going on but I suspect it’s people dropping out. Long may it continue!

Exciting to be going to Dubai Jac. I bet it’s a racing experience like no other. Look forward to the report & pics

That’s funny Tonge thought I’d look to see if I had moved up and I’ve actually been demoted one place to 649th  I’ll adjust our scores just this once

Raymo…if I were you I’d keep eating the Doughnuts as the person leading the Fantasy League is called doughnuts and it hasn’t done them any harm. :good:

Thanks for the good wishes Tonge and Raymo. :rose: It was a real surprise only ever been outside Europe for holidays a couple of times Florida when the children were young and an overnight boat trip to Israel from Cyprus before they came along when we miscalculated the cost and ended up broke for the last week of our holiday. Jac
