Value Is EverythingFebruary 23, 2013 at 09:35 #430293Morning Ginge
What`s your price to beat for Quantitativeeasing in the biggie at Kempton?
I hope Gordie boy doesn`t put that up as his lay for today, far too big for laying purposes and goes against his normal approach.
Just have to wait i guess.February 23, 2013 at 09:50 #430297Although my original "price to beat" for Quantititiveeasing was 33/1 Softie, I wouldn’t back him at 50’s now. Strangely, I’d be more likely to back him @ 20/1 if shortening up to that price. Because at best he’s well handicapped. Strong market move could prove a pointer to wellbeing and even 20’s would be a value price IF we knew he’s likely to run to form.
With this horse the market tells it all, having shown nothing for a long time. It could be the ground, but hasn’t given any encouragement at all recently. Plenty of prominent runners today which should suit his hold up style; but is he as good right-handed? Form is at Cheltenham, therefore the probability is he’s being prepared for the Festival. Runs today and gets dropped another few pounds… If the stable thought he was back to his peak Barry (who was on him for his big handicap win) would be on him instead of Roberto. If (and it’s quite a big IF at this stage) if there’s a race to back him it’s at the Cheltenham Festival, probably the 3 miler, but I’d want to see a bit more today.
I believe Gordy Boy has already backed Q for Cheltenham.

Value Is EverythingFebruary 23, 2013 at 19:09 #430370Simply brilliant Ginge – that`s added plenty of beer tokens to the account!!
Excellent Day`s racing at Kempton, and a really tidy profit to round it all off. Time for an increase in the points value i reckon.Just been catching up with some replays from earlier and a couple of really gutsy front running performances from Roi de Mee ( great price ) and Ballygarvey.
Saw Opening Batsman polish his field off with aplomb at Kempton during the afternoon, and yet another nice winner for Harry Fry.Off to Fontwell tomorrow for the National Spirit where Nicholls has half the field, and there`s some nice racing at Naas too.
Should be another interesting day.February 23, 2013 at 21:16 #4303773:45 Fontwell
