Turns out Aidan probably made the right decision sending Japan here. Might not have even picked up that G1 in Ireland running like that…

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!July 25, 2020 at 16:51 #1495020I thought Japan was going to pull up
Wouldn’t have surprised me as I done him each way.Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
July 25, 2020 at 23:05 #1495059Japan’s rubbish Mike. Jack you are right. This family is crap. How many times now does it need proven. That’s the nail in the coffin for last years Juddmonte form at the top level for me.
Enable in a completely different league.
In the long term 6/1 there on Japan will pay so not disappointed on the pick but that was embarrassing for Japan

July 26, 2020 at 14:01 #1495108Hand on heart if she couldn’t have beaten those two in that manner then she should have been retired there and then – for the life of me I don’t understand why people rate Japan so highly, he is a decent horse but on all known form he had no right to beat Enable – he had all conditions and race fitness in his favour in the Eclipse and couldn’t beat her when Gosden stated she was only 80% fit. Sovereign was a fully exposed horse and even his Irish Derby win is highly suspicious form wise.
The race (loose term for it) should and will quite rightly only be remembered for her accomplishment of becoming the only 3 time winner but lets be honest a hell of a lot more will be required to win that 3rd Arc and the same type of scenario/conditions as last year race could happen with Dettori having to possible go faster than ideal in keeping tabs on front running Ghaiyyath.
The one horse who I do think could beat her (Logician) has had a life threatening illness which has delayed his return to the track and might have left a lasting impact plus the fact he is in the same stable and worse they same ownership – if he has fully recovered (won’t really know until he races) I expect another Cracksman situation where he gets diverted to the Champion Stakes at Ascot rather than risk turning over their star.
