Frenchy, no not joking. Would love to compare the race winners average ratings from, say, 2000, but simply would take forever with the phone / broadband I’m using.

July 24, 2020 at 22:25 #1494887I have the KG last 14 years, it’s 127. Definitely higher than the Irish Derby in that timeframe. Significantly higher I’d wager.
July 24, 2020 at 22:37 #1494891My Mac is buggered mate or I’d love to do my bit and work out the Irish Derby rating and then continue the debate. Alas, it’s a challenge enough currently just to post.

July 24, 2020 at 22:47 #1494894I’ll do it tomorrow quickly just for the debate! I’d guess 120 is the Irish ave last 14
July 24, 2020 at 22:48 #1494896I’d bet on it, but I’m not a betting man
July 24, 2020 at 22:55 #1494898After race

Taghrooda 125- loved her

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!July 25, 2020 at 00:21 #1494916Antony Van dyke is out of the race. King George we are done to 3 runners now. What a poor race.
July 25, 2020 at 09:43 #1494931Japan will win.
July 25, 2020 at 09:51 #1494933I think Japan might win too.
I’m wondering if Sovereign puts the breaks on out of the stalls committing Enable to go off in front. Then Sovereign hassles Enable up front so she can’t set her own fractions, allowing Japan to pick her off late.
July 25, 2020 at 10:13 #1494939It is fascinating to see what tactics happen. I know it’s not ideal and what everyone wants to see, but let’s enjoy it for what it is. Should be interesting!
July 25, 2020 at 10:17 #1494940I hope they tag team the hell out of Enable, including nicking Dettori’s whip, just so I can enjoy the fall out

July 25, 2020 at 14:12 #1494989I can see sovereign winning this if his rider does it right. He’ll fly out the gate then build up a big lead, take a breather at six furlongs then go again four furlongs out. He’s a 120 horse so if he gets a big enough lead he’ll not be caught. For once frankie won’t control it and will have to hope Japan carries enable through the race. Remember japans targets are at the back end of the season probably ending in the Japan cup. Fascinating race for having just three runners.
July 25, 2020 at 14:13 #1494990He’s obviously not the likelist winner, but I think that 14/1 for Sovereign
takes no account of some of his form. It’s said he was fortunate and got the run of the
race in the Irish derby, but he did it nonetheless. he probably needed his comeback run
at the Curragh. I’ve not lost my marble, if Enable is in very good form there’s only 1
winner, but she is 6 which gives a slight chink of doubt. At 14/1 a slight chink is maybe
worth a pop.July 25, 2020 at 15:29 #1495006Japan 1st
Enable 2ndEasiest money straight forecast you will ever find.
July 25, 2020 at 15:51 #1495011A nice exercise canter for Enable.
July 25, 2020 at 15:57 #1495013Japan needs a break I think. Chasing and trying to beat Ghaiyyath seemed to have taken too much out of him looking at his finishing effort today. Will see what AOB says about it.
July 25, 2020 at 16:16 #1495014Nicely done and history made both for Enable and Frankie matching Lester Piggott’s record of 7 wins in this race.
The Coolmore 2 had no more to give and no excuses.
