Darren – ‘Daryakana’ is entered next for the Grand Prix De Saint-Cloud on the 27-6-10

The first forfait stage is on the 23rd – Gosden has ‘Dar Re Mi’ earmarked..

wonder if we’ll see ‘Spanish Moon’ back on track defending his title too??

Mosse is a disgrace to racing. He’s on the only horse with a chance of beating Sarafina and instead of keeping that filly posted three wide throughout without cover he eases back, lets the favourite in, then positions himself on the fence instead of remaining in the running lane. What’s the point of racing when one jockey doesn’t compete but simply hands the race to a stablemate.

You may consider the obvious truth, that is there for all to see, as "a bit harsh" – I don’t. We need more outspoken "harshness" in this game not more censorship

Looks like harshness for harshness’ sake to me, with no real justification. It is quite absurd to suggest that Mosse stuggling to find a gap is an "obvious truth" of his non-competitiveness. You can’t read his mind. If he had raced three wide and still not caught Sarafina, no doubt you would have attacked him for the extra distance he had to cover. Watch the race, and it is quite clear (although I won’t call it an "obvious truth") that he almost found a gap on the rail, before Deluxe jinked right, and then again as Sarafina was passing Zagora, Zag jinked left into Sarafina so Mosse was blocked again. It looks like he rode to win, and it looks like Rosie doesn’t have the gears that the winner does.

I see that a lot of people are saying how unlucky ‘Rosie’ was!
For me – I believe that she had more than enough time to get going again – the race was simply the wrong trip for her.
Yes she did get baulked ‘real bad’ – but ‘Baine’ almost nose dived along the rail also…a hard luck story the whole race really!

It’s also been said that CP gave ‘Siyouni’ a poor ride in the ‘Roosters’…I’m actually of the opinion that he was worse on ‘Rosie’!
    Two reasons:

In the race notes for ‘Siyouni’ after the 7 runner Fontainbleau – it says, "

I’d say that it was probably his

Might be why Mordin saw him as a JC prospect more than a potential Champion Rooster?! :D

On ‘Rosie’ CP was following ‘Full Steam’ – she was in trouble before the bend – the view from behind shows that Guyon was clearly getting very low as she came under pressure.
It’s hard to knock one of my fav jocks…but if I’d have backed the Aga filly – then I would have thought that he should have gone wide and around a runner which was falling through the field back to him rapidly – thus avoiding the trouble which was to come…
That’s race riding! – split second decisions! – I’m sure that he gets things right more often than not!
He did on the the 1st of May anyways!

I prefer logic to name calling!

    Goldikova, Queen of England!!

Goldikova is it invincible? Maybe not, but the champion Freddy Head we will again impressed in the Queen Anne Stakes. A very good race, full of suspense and emotion.

    Goldikova, a champion of emergency
What a race! What a champion! The Queen Anne Stakes in 2010 will surely be remembered. Goldikova came, saw and conquered, but the mare will also be very frightening to his supporters, who saw the champion Paco Boy regain significant ground on "Goldi" in the final meters of the final straight. But the invincible French, who had launched his sprint earlier than expected by fear of being trapped, has resisted all the way back from his most formidable opponent, winning the race with a class maddening.

Goldikova has confirmed, if need be, its status as exceptional horse. The champion Freddy Head won his ninth Group I came close, race after race, the record set by Dahlia (11 Group I). But beyond this record, Goldikova has also signed an accomplishment in being the first mare to win the Queen Anne Stakes … for almost 50 years! And the girl did not even seem tired by his race, delighting in trying to kick the lad came back on the track after his victory. A Lady at the sacred temperament, our national Goldikova …

Freddy Head spoke to our colleagues in the Racing Post after the race. The coach was pretty confident, and his joy is contagious, "when it goes ahead, it is unbeatable (…). It is extraordinary, I think it showed his best form today. She was relaxed during the race and I was never worried. "A blind trust of the coach to his protected …
Olivier Peslier, meanwhile, said with emotion, the Racing Post: "It’s fantastic, a dream." On its journey, said the jockey may have come too early, but having trust their partner, even relaxed and voluntary.
Goldikova should now return to France, either for the Prix Jacques Le Marois, or for the Prix de la Foret. This leaves us a little time to prepare for him a triumphant welcome. After all, Goldikova is a real World Champion!
    :D

    Maxime Guyon

The Dream, The Passion, The Will To Win! :D

At 21, Maxime Guyon is one of the most talented riders of his generation. Jockey Andre Fabre, the young mayennais experienced the joys of a fifth victory in a Group I, June 6 at Chantilly in the Prix Jockey Club, with Lope de Vega. A successful prestige among the 284 already achieved since the beginning of his career in 2005.

"How did he manage to do that? What jockey!". The manager of the team gestüt Ammerland not believe it. Despite an appalling number in the starting satlles (20) in the Prix du Jockey Club, Maxime Guyon has managed to impose an entire class and above to receive an ideal itinerary. A feat that reduces the driver humbly saying, "Mr. Fabre said to let me gallop Lope de Vega. He goes faster boxes and I was lucky. I was only following orders." Yes but even the coach is not on the horse and the decisions taken by Maxime Guyon were good.

A new display of talent of this young man of 21 years. Has the AFASEC Gouvieux Maxime Guyon continued his apprenticeship in Andre Fabre Chantilly. Very quickly, the "Sphinx" trust him and he won his first race on August 15 at Chinon. Then comes the time to progression. 33 wins in 2006, 29 in 2007, 63 in 2008 and the first successful group, 113 last year with a third in the standings of jockeys to the key and a first victory in Group I.

Cavalryman’s victory in the Grand Prix de Paris at the rank of the young "star" in the making. A success that left him with a wondrous feeling. "It was a great thrill. Everything that you look at the world. Very impressive! I was focused. During the race I saw that I would fight for victory. At 200 meters from goal, I saw myself to win. It was an extreme sensation, indescribable! I was on a cloud. "remembers it still.

The Jockey Club does not taste the same but even greater value to him. "Within a year, there is the Arc, the Prix de Diane and the Jockey Club, I managed to win the One of the three, it is great "he testified on June 6 in returning to the scales. The days pass and Maxime Guyon confirms its status. It was already his fifth Group I. Author of 40 works this season, he is one of the top five jockeys on the current chart of accounts. With over 2 million reaped, it is even leading the gains.

He who wishes to mark the history of racing, is poised to achieve. The road is still long. But Maxime Guyon walk in the footsteps of the best.
His collaboration with Andre Fabre should still bring him great joy in the coming months…

Indeed, Vive La Goldikova, Vive Le Guyon. Both are in very "chaud" form.

Entries for the Jean Prat (as well as the Bois – good 2yo race – and Chloe) are due today. In light of all the fantastic 8f competition this year, will be interesting to see which 3yos are sent to Chantilly on July 4th.

Not so clear cut this one. Although I have

    Daryakana

ahead, Celimene and/or Youmzain could make things very difficult.

What you guys think of Daryakana i tell you what i learned about this horse it needs to be played late why was it 3rd for most of the race today. And stick to going right handed tracks.Like Imperial Commander only does it at left handed courses after a break that is what they should do for Daryakana stick to right handed courses.

I think Youmzain has shown that he should take his record of silver medals in the Arc to 4.

Jean Prat on Sunday looks better than most years. Lope de V rematch with Dick Turpin, Siyouni/Xtension/Hearts of F have chance to show if they have just been unlucky or were all well-beaten so far this season.

Good 2yo race earlier on the card as well, the Bois. Miss Liberty has been strong this season, but she will need to watch out for Dream Catcher, Keratiya and perhaps most of all, Irish Field from south of the Pyrenees.

Agree with you on Daryakana Darren – right handed and played late, strong pace will suit herdown to the ground. Each-Way in the Arc if there’s pacemakers etc would suit her IMO.

Prix Yacowlef tomorrow – some very interesting contenders and the filly from Jean-Claude Rouget is meant to be very smart.

Well back from another very nice time – taking ‘Makfi 1’ out on the water again! :D

I see that the plodders have run some months in advance of their date at Donny… :o

Feel that this article (though it’s late) had to be posted in the name of ‘Friday Fun With Translation’! :P

‘Plumania’ Wins Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud!

The sun was up, June 27, 2010, to celebrate the Grand Prix de Saint Cloud. But it was not alone, because the horses were they, too, shone by their talent. The 2010 will be remembered for its beautiful finish, undecided: it took the photo and the outcome of an investigation to know the winner of this prestigious Group I. End the suspense: it Plumania who won with shrapnel, the Grand Prix de Saint Cloud.
    A limit exceptional!
Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud in 2010 will certainly be remembered. Rarely has such a beautiful finish to summer! Plumania well placed during the race, just behind the leader of the race, Absolute Power, appeared to fly in the last 400 meters. Behind her, Absolute Power yielded after being a little embarrassed. But they did not count on two planes that flew in the last 200 meters: Daryakana, who made a nice end of the race, but could not reach Plumania, especially Youmzain, supersonic.

Youmzain, winner of the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud in 2008, has indeed impressed. The horse has a little concern from behind the pack throughout the race. But Richard Hughes has successfully launched its partner, which produced an absolutely kick-ass and surprising acceleration in the last 200 meters of the race. In passing the winning post, the uncertainty … Plumania she resisted, he or Youmzain topped its rival on the pole?
    Suspense, suspense …
While everyone awaits the photo, the siren sounded investigation. It concerns Plumania, which would have hindered Absolute Power in wanting to take advantage. As for Richard Hughes, he raised a fist in the victorious return to the scales, certainly believes that defeated the filly.
Race results: the photograph shows that Plumania kept a small nose to his advantage. The Jeunet defeated the old veteran … But will it penalized its movement? The end of the investigation falls: the filly retained its first place. Victory for Plumania, Olivier Peslier, Andre Fabre, and the jacket (and livestock) Wertheimer brothers!
A feat for a young lady
Winning the Grand Prix de Saint Cloud when you’re a lady, this is not an easy task! During the past 15 years, only Pride (trained by Alain de Royer-Dupre), in 2006, has accomplished the feat. And since the test is, there were only seven females who had passed the pole head. Plumania is the eighth …
Andre Fabre and Olivier Peslier, regulars at the event
Let’s talk numbers! Andre Fabre, with this victory, to win his sixth Grand Prix de Saint Cloud (Star Village, In The Wings, Apple Tree, Carnegie, Fragrant Mix, and therefore Plumania). Olivier Peslier earned his third victory in the race, after Helissio and Fragrant Mix.
    Youmzain, eternal second?

Youmzain has really bad luck on French soil … If the horse had won the Grand Prix de Saint Cloud in 2008, it is also known to have failed three times, in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomhe before each of his opportunities to settle for silver medals second Dylan Thomas in 2007, second to Zarkava in 2008, second Sea The Stars in 2009 … And now second in the Grand Prix de Saint Cloud (and he was third in this event in 2009 !)…

    They said

After the race, jockeys and trainers have expressed Micro Equidia:

    Olivier Peslier

(Plumania jockey): "She was always a little group I sought her, she was always at the finish. It gives us a beautiful day Group I, which is fun. It has always been honest, had already won in St. Cloud. It’s nice. "

    Pierre-Yves Bureau

, manager of the team Wertheimer (Plumania): "It was a great race. We had a little afraid, it was a question of balance. She deserved a good performance. Good. "

    Mick Channon

(coach Youmzain, second): "It was a beautiful finish. I am satisfied with his race. I look forward to returning to France and finally win another race in Paris. Perhaps the Arc? "

    Christophe-Patrice Lemaire

(jockey Daryakana, third): It was given, and I believed him. I thought I could come and beat Olivier, but his filly was very resilient. We have no excuses now, she met with horses hard enough. But it felt good.

    Just some thoughts…

Wouldn’t you have thought that a certain trainer would have learnt that the perfect ‘Arc prep’ involves taking the summer off?!
Some old time saying says that it’s a bad sign to keep making the same mistakes over & and over…

    Re: ‘Dary’

Alain de Royer-Dupre, trainer of Daryakana

"She has come on a lot since her run in the Prix Corrida and is in excellent shape.

Daryakana went down by under a neck in third place and her trainer Alain de Royer-Dupre said: "She ran much better left-handed on this occasion and has learnt a lot since her last outing at this track.

"We have entered her in the King George at Ascot next month and the race is not completely ruled out."

    The info is there!

Yet I feel that it shows what good placing it was to send her to HK…
it’s something to note with Dupre – I’m sure that he likes taking advantage of weight for age! 8)

    If one is good enough…

:) Im glad Plumania won this beating proven top class horses at least it franks last seasons form with Stacelita who beat her easily on 3 occasions once when she didn’t stay!
Shows her last win against Daryakana was no fluke.
