Apologies if this is in the wrong bit, but it was great to see Dick Turpin snare that Group One with a glorious, effortless and really rather spangly run in the Prix Jean Prat.
BlueSky @pghenn.bsky.social
So don't run, just like the others always do
July 4, 2010 at 15:04 #304616Yes. Nice to see R.Hughes going head to head with T.Queally in the group one chase after losing the position with Henry.Apparently DT was very impressive.
July 4, 2010 at 16:00 #304628Martin – ‘Flo’ won well from that draw yesterday – Deauville next?!

Your part namesake run v good today whilst dropping back in trip…

As for the big one today – it’s a pitty that ‘Lope’ blew up’ or should I say bombed out?!
What happened there??…
– Hope that he is ok…Good win for the ‘DT’ picking up the pieces!!
Probably made a whole lot easier due to the BallyD big guns not turning up?!

(despite the slight uphill finish) the easier mile there probably helped him out – (and if the going description) is to be believed then the juice in the ground would have helped no end too – as Hannon has been saying that he’ll be better with some give.
Pity Mr H is so negative re: the Breeders’ Cup – as with his handy style of racing he’d probably be well suited by the mile over there…
July 4, 2010 at 16:29 #304638Thought we had it for a min and so did the commentator and the guys on RUK

Flo Jo off to the Maurice De Gheest so that should be another profitable experience given she’s just beaten her elders with a G2 penalty (cancelling out all bar her WFA allowance)
July 4, 2010 at 22:12 #304700Zenjah nice to see you back where you been
What chance would you give Daryakana in the King George at Ascot good ground she get and it be on a right handed course as well. She stuff Workforce

And how do guys rate Goldwaki and and what is this horse next race and what is it best trip as well.
July 5, 2010 at 09:41 #304748Lol! – Cheers Darren!

In-between messing around in or on the water and swaggering into places for light refreshment and then – swaying out again!…
I’ve been toppin’ up the tan and hittin’ ‘chill factor nine’!!
For me the season is now starting to hit more flat spots than AOA!

Though there is some light ahead…
All the info you need Re: ‘Dary’ should be above Darren?…if you fancy her for the Arc then I don’t see why you wouldn’t want to back her for the KG – knowing that she is defo going to run there (at the mo she is anyways!)
She should be better going back the other way – and the stiff finish at Ascot should be in her favour too…there’s not much difference in length of home straight between there and Honk Pong is there…
Seen elsewhere that ‘Dar’ is being see as overpriced now at 14’s – might be true?…
But if ‘Dary’ is at double figures then on a line through ‘Spanish Moon’ then isn’t she around the right price now – in comparison?! (though TBF ‘Dary’ was getting a fair bit of weight in that form line!)
Re: ‘Goldwaki’ – hard to knock one that’s unbeaten in four this year!
His form was franked big time when ‘Brigantin’ another from the Fabre wonder factory won the Swiss Derby!

Serious – on a form line through ‘Mashoor’ (finished second to ‘Shimraan’ giving 7lb?) – there is a link to ‘Air Trooper’ – who many thought would be running in the race he last won – the ‘Rail Link’ route! – the Prix Du Lys.

I think that he is to be supplemented next for the Grand Prix De Paris??
What will win? – Will it produce the winner of the Arc? – We’ll see…
It might have the winner of the Prix Chaudenay?!!
July 5, 2010 at 10:19 #304758Thought we had it for a min and so did the commentator and the guys on RUK

I watched it on the other channel – where they actually showed the race live!!
(instead of giving greater preference to some selling plater!) and had to put up with the one who has a ‘tangerine dream’ massaging his own ego – having tipped up a complete no hoper and then going overboard about getting the call of the photo right!!
Don’t know about ‘Hang the DJ’?? – ‘fire the producer’ more like!

P.S. – Ole hope you were on the winner? You’ve had your beady eye on that one for quite some time!
July 5, 2010 at 11:34 #304766Quotes and other:
Two Group III races were scheduled for this Sunday, July 4 on the racetrack at Chantilly. In addition to looking Prix Jean Prat, Group I race and main event of the meeting, the Group III Prix Chloe Wood and Price were also on display. Satisfied, skeptical or disappointed, professionals have analyzed the hot performance of their representatives in these tests.
The main reactions:Price of Wood Group III for 2 years on 1000 meters (straight line)
"She has always shown deep pockets"
Jean-Claude Rouget, mentor Keratiya, 1st
"It has always been quality. In his last outing, it was more beaten up by her lack of experience and, on that line, I saw a chance today. It has a peak speed but very short final incisor has operated perfectly Christophe-Patrice Lemaire. I think it is already very mature and it will not necessarily much progress. We’ll see as a result of its program. "
"He has held and hardness"
Olivier Peslier, jockey Irish Field, 2nd
"He had good values in his country. I already knew to be ridden twice in the morning at practice. It’s a shame to be beaten by so little but it is a colt who owns speed and the outfit. The next time we try to do better. "Disappointments
Maxime Guyon, jockey of Miss Liberty, 5th
"She did not value and really needs to rest"Philip Sogorb, jockey Dream Catcher, 6th
"She did everything in diving. He must see her."Chloe Price, Group III for fillies 3 years for 1,800 meters
"It pleases me more and more"
Jean-Claude Rouget, trainer Lily Of The Valley, 1st
"We had established a program with its owner and is held there. The filly pleases me more and more. It was good for two years but was mostly on his class, being not so early in the image of "Galileo". I think it’s not finished yet to know if we descend to 1600 meters or one extension. We will discuss with Christopher. "
"She does everything easily"
Christophe Soumillon, jockey Lily Of The Valley, 1st
"I’m not surprised. It possesses quality speed and also the holding but also a big change of pace. She does everything easily and had a class above the rest today. "
Siyouni:
Second in the Prix Jean Prat at Chantilly on July 4, Siyouni now aspires to a few weeks of rest. A resident of Alain de Royer-Dupre should be reviewed at Longchamp in the Prix du Moulin de Longchamp in October.
Daryakana & King George Target:
Third in the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud behind Plumania, Daryakana should be on track to Ascot for the King George, July 24. She is also involved in the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.
Behkabad & The Grand Prix de Paris:
Fourth in the Prix du Jockey-Club at Chantilly on June 6, Behkabad be well on track in the Grand Prix de Paris at Longchamp on July 14. He will find some of the best 3 years.
Chinchon: A win! – And aims higher!
Chinchon won a Group I to the United States, ridden by Garrett Gomez. The protégé of Carlos Laffon-Parias will now take a break before returning to U.S. soil to participate in the Breeders’ Cup in October.
July 16, 2010 at 10:06 #306793Behkabad and Mosse, national heroes
!

Grand Prix de Paris (Gr.1-3A-2400 m) allowed the resident Jean-Claude Rouget Behkabad (ridden by a man of great appointment, Gerald Mosse) to take revenge on Planter that the preceded him in the Prix du Jockey-club. On July 14, two horses trained in France have dominated their rivals and can have big goals late in the season.
Gerald Mosse, who replaced Christophe Lemaire (injured), the resident discovered by Jean-Claude Rouget. It was once again perfectly fulfilled its task, playing the opportunistic, a role he loves. He also has benefited from the wake of the leader of the écrurie Wildenstein, Live Free. While Planters sought passage to the rear, his balance and his stride lengthened. When his rival came to his side, he left in good horse. Jean-Claude Rouget was delighted: "This is my first Group 1 for His Highness the Aga Khan and his team thank you for trusting me. Behkabad aimed Award from the Jockey Club, but the 2,100 meters proved to be too short. It has maternal origins to hold the classic distance. Georges Rimaud, manager of livestock Aga Khan, says: "The logical extension of its program through the Arc de Triomphe, but it is still a little early to set goals. His Highness was not there today, and it will take the decision with the coach, while taking into account the evolution of the horse … "
For his part, Elie Lellouche was not too disappointed: "Planter runs well. Is this a problem keeping? For me, it lacks experience especially since it was only his third race this year … "Presumably, if Planter had not stuck behind a wall of horses at the entrance of the line, it might have finished closer. Still, his performance was again very good and the blues are in this son of Danehill Dancer a real horse of a group. Moreover, Irish Jan Vermeer (winner of Group I), but the third beat, is a valuable witness. To end on another positive note, we will post the good end of race Goldwaki, who failed a breath for the second mention. His first defeat of the year is more than honorable.
No no no!
Thank you! – Monsieur ‘White Gloves’!
Strike two!
UM – I take it that you made a profit on the false one?!
July 16, 2010 at 10:55 #306800Putting aside whether or not we saw an Arc winner on Wednesday night…
what did witness was a Jockey who could still teach a few ‘flavour of the months’ a thing or two!
Coolness in the heat of the moment personified!

I had thought that Anthony Crastus was a decent if not very good young jockey – yet he showed why he is still in part scratching around for his first Group 1 winner.
A guess at tactics would have been that he was going to try and sit in behind as he did in the JC and more so in the Noailles – go at a slow pace and then out kick them (the blatant stayers) that is in the straight.
From his draw (6) alongside his pacemaker ‘Vive Libre’ (7) there was no real excuse for not getting the position he so needed, probably planned and desired.
Yet if that wasn’t bad enough…his race riding decision making then let him down!
Murtagh (king of the face plant!) & actually behind ‘Plantr’ was able to come from out the back and get within touching distance of ‘Behky’ by going the rail route – whilst A.C. – (not so cool!) went wide and put ‘Plantr’ into open space where he wandered around like a drunk on a push bike!
G. Mosse
:
Wednesday, July 14 at Longchamp
Winner of the Grand Prix in Paris in the saddle Behkabad Gerald Mosse told Equidia microphone: "I discovered today. I had a perfect number, I had the chance to put me behind the leader. The Race has been very selective, so it’s best that wins. It has sprung and well off challenges in the final phase.Gerald Mosse:
Grand Prix de Paris 2010
Very good winner of the Grand Prix de Paris 2010 Bekhabad wowed his entourage. Gerald Mosse, his jockey, said: "We saw a great Behkabad today. I have placed it behind the leader and he has accelerated. This is the best who won, especially since it was the first to make the effort. It has rejected attacks. . George Rimaud, manager of the Aga Khan stable, has meanwhile said: "It’s fantastic, it is hard to fight, he fought well.He did what he wasn’t able to do at Chantilly – where it’s been said before what might have happened had he of been placed better.
Still Darren – it might be a good omen for you & ‘Daryakana’ that CP is injured!
Every time it happens ‘White Gloves’ steps in and picks up the pieces in Group races!!
July 16, 2010 at 11:10 #306803Nice bit of form franking the day after…

Arasin
– Wins!
15/07/2010 – The protégé of Pascal Bary
Disappointing in a very spicy Fontaibleau rates in April 2010, Arasin proved he had lost none of its capacity by removing the style Banstar Price, July 15, 2010 in Maisons-Laffitte.
A victory that recalls the good performance of this colt trained by Pascal Bary:Special Duty
Forced Rest
Having completely failed in Newmarket, Special Duty was indeed suffering, pelvis. After visiting the osteopath, the filly is getting better but must observe a period of rest. Christiane Head-Maarek – saying "it must be restored and it will take time and we will go not to Deauville."Another – that some may have wondered as to it’s whereabouts??
Sick note…Silver Pond
: Setback & forced into rest
Misses the Grand Prix de Paris
Engaged in the Grand Prix de Paris 2010 Silver Pond had to decline the fight. The protégé of Carlos Laffon-Farias had a splint which caused an interruption of his training. Unbeaten in three public appearances, the Prize will not be reviewed Hocquart track before the fall.July 17, 2010 at 15:22 #307003Zenjah
Who will ride Daryakana at Ascot next week i prefer
Soumoulin to Mosse any dayJuly 17, 2010 at 16:09 #307006Still Darren – it might be a good omen for you & ‘Daryakana’ that CP is injured!

http://www.life.com/image/94365709July 18, 2010 at 07:03 #307054I already posted this elsewhere but thought it might be of some little intereet here.
JanVermeer ran in France during the week. He did not run like the JanVermeer who won from the front and going away as a 2YO. Today at the Currage Air Chief Marshal won well.I am sharing with you Aidans comments. What do you make of them in the light of the poor running of last year’s stars?
"Johnny said he felt like a different horse the last day in Dundalk," said O’Brien.
"He’s really come back to himself, he travelled well today and Johnny gave him a great ride."
"Air Chief Marshal (5-1) had lost his way after being a promising juvenile last year, but he showed all that was behind him as he saw off seasoned campaigners in admirable fashion".(Sporting Life)
May I say that perhaps the other stars of last year who also lost their way may be coming back. But will it be soon enough to meet and beat the Derby winner?July 18, 2010 at 20:08 #307164White Gloves i do not like Mosse give me CS all the time
White gloves gets horses in trouble all time.Like if you put Mosse in a car on a motor way he has go pass one car instead of going pass he run straight into it.
I might change mind if he wins Arc and King GeorgeJuly 25, 2010 at 12:37 #308556Irish Field wins the Prix Robert-Papin
July 26, 2010 at 08:40 #308767Irish Field wins the Prix Robert-Papin
