Thought I’d give one of these a go, as much for myself as anything as a way to keep track of how much I’m losing and bring a little more discipline to my betting
Stakes will almost always be £10 win or £5 e/w
Hopefully can find a few winners
June 11, 2019 at 01:46 #1445004Not a great days racing tomorrow but did pick one out to start things off
4:15 Salisbury
Make my day 7/4 £10 win
exceptionally well bred (by Galileo out of an unraced sister to midday) and ran an encouraging debut finishing second
The horse that beat it was considered good enough to run in the lingfield derby trial next time out
The 4th won by 3 lengths at bath and the 5th won a maiden at newmarket
Hopefully will find plenty of improvement and prove too good for these even having to concede 5lbs to the favourite inclyne
Fingers crossed I can get going with a winner
June 11, 2019 at 08:44 #1445008GL FinalFurlong!
One thing i noticed when having a look over your horse. Gosden’s stats with 3yos at Salisbury in last 5 seasons:
30 runners/9winners/6seconds/9thirds/4fourths….so 30 runners and 28 in first 4 with +34.47 to £1.
Granted your pick isn’t wanting to come placed, it’s a decent strike rate!!

June 11, 2019 at 11:27 #1445024I see it’s been heavily backed so far, somewhat predictably
Hopefully havlin doesnt stuff it up
June 11, 2019 at 17:24 #1445063Horse had no interest at all
Slowly away, didnt travel then when asked for an effort his head carriage was all over the place
Knew my fate early on
June 11, 2019 at 18:09 #1445067Good luck with the thread FF91

June 11, 2019 at 19:32 #1445073Great to see a new thread on here! Best of luck!
June 11, 2019 at 21:23 #1445079I probably started at the wrong time though always do awful at royal ascot
It’s weird I do better on the flat than jumps but do way way better at Cheltenham than royal ascot
Managed to scrape out break even last year thanks to a decent double on stradivarius and crystal ocean at 5/2 and 7/4 respectively (put on a week before the race and crystal oceans price collapsed)
June 11, 2019 at 23:29 #1445085My bullet for tomorrow wouldve been moon king in the 4:50 at haydock but with the bottomless ground cant bring myself to back it at such a short price so no bet for the day
P/L -£10

Lady kaya LOSER (RIP)
Japan 6/1 (king Edward VII)
Jubiloso 5/1 (Coronation stakes)No calyx was a bit of a blow, so I’m praying the ground dries out enough for sea of class or my ante post bets are in tatters. Wouldn’t be much damage to my pocket but would be lots of wasted £5 free bets from the sky bet weekly offer
Obviously haven’t counted the free bets in my P/L due to not staking anything on them
P/L -£65 (hopefully that isn’t the same at the end of royal ascot lol)

June 13, 2019 at 23:05 #1445237Decent looking listed race at York tomorrow at 4:05
Oh this is us 7/2 £10 win
Sir dancealot was the one that first drew my eye but then noticed it was over a mile. Hes run over a mile twice and on both occasions his finishing effort is described as follows
“Weakened final furlong”
“Weakened final 120 yards”He also pulled quite hard in the lockinge, a big field group 1, so I’d imagine mosse will have a serious job on his hands to get him to settle here
So I will be taking him on with oh this is us who ran a cracker last time getting within a length of zaaki. He isn’t the best horse in the world but always runs his race and will hopefully stay the mile much better than sir dancealot
-£75
June 13, 2019 at 23:50 #1445240£5 treble
Cardano 6/4 18:05 goodwood
Mekong 5/4 York saturday
Stradivarius 13/8 gold cup-£80
June 14, 2019 at 00:05 #1445241Just checked the forecast for York tomorrow and it says persistent light rain, which would go against oh this is us so precautionarily cashed out my bet, fortunately sky bet let me have the full stake back
Will back tomorrow if the rain doesn’t come most likely
So back to -£70
June 16, 2019 at 12:19 #1445493It’s good to see another new thread in here Final Furlong. Good luck with it.
