    Hardwicke stakes

    Defoe 4/1 £10 win

Feel like so many of the others have massive questions to answer

Masar has a very long lay off and will surely come on for the run
Southern France constantly shapes well but finds very little for pressure
Lah ti dar has been well below par both runs this season
Mirage dancer is yet to prove himself at this level

So came down on Defoe who finally delivered on his promise last time and if he runs to the same level again should have a cracking chance of winning

Sangarius lovely horse, more to come there. Good luck tomorrow.

    Happy with my picks today

Got £27.19 off my trixie with adeyybb and Japan winning, skybet are quite good as they only remove £1.25 from your winnings not the full £5 when you have 2 winners

Then Baghdad obliged in the last for a nice 7/1 winner

    So +67.19 for the day

    Which makes me

    P/L +52.19 :yahoo:

With bets on Defoe, city light and invincible army tomorrow

Just a shame there is an enormous spanner in the works called blue point running again

    One final bullet for ascot

    Queen Alexandra stakes

    Younevercall 5/1 £5 win

Absolutely fascinating runner which I’m annoyed I didn’t notice earlier as he has halved in price. Won the select hurdle by 9 lengths beating the likes of on the blind side, black op and Thomas Campbell

Doyle booked and the money is down

    P/L +£47.19

    Nice win for Defoe

Shame about the 20p rule 4 though

    So ended up +£42

    P/L +£89.19

Very happy with the week considering neither of my biggest ante post fancies sea of class or invincible army obliged. Of the big ones only blue point never let me down so being well up for the week is very pleasing.

Hopefully younevercall can be the cherry on top of the cake

    Three bullets for tomorrow

    Bowerman 15/8 £10 win 4:05 Newcastle

Won eased down Last time, very unexposed so could easily win again despite the 9lb penalty

    Duke of firenze 9/1 £2.50 e/w 5 places (skybet) 7:45 curragh

Still looks a well handicapped horse to me, running on well last time coming second to a well backed horse that got first run, cant see him out of the 5 with a searing pace guaranteed with el astronaute running

Spirit of wedza 7/2 £10 win 8:35 hamilton

Won well last time over course and distance pulling clear with the second who has massively franked the form since, running Duke of firenze to a neck at thirsk then winning twice after. A reproduction of that run and I cant see this horse not going very close

    Wild illusion 2/1 £10 win 5:25 curragh

Her two best performances last season came over this trip and she should come on for the re appearance run over a trip on the short side for her

She won group 1s as a 2yo and 3yo I think she has a very good chance of being one as a 4yo

Siskin 11/8 £10 win railway stakes

Been waiting for this horse to run for ages

Was hoping the presence of monarch of Egypt would mean he would be a bigger price but that doesnt look like it will be the case

    Glorious journey £10 win 100/30 3:15 newmarket

Got beat in a listed race last time but that was by dream of dreams who almost won the diamond jubilee

Think it will be tough for Limato to give 5lb to this one if in the same form as at Windsor

Well done Final Furlong, good to see your thread getting off to a good start.

    Thanks buckers

Good to get some early winners to take the pressure off

Siskin won very nicely, in the manner of a good horse

glorious journey unfortunately got beat a short distance into second by limato but ran a belter

One for the notebooks today would definitely be hand on my heart who beat some useful horses on her debut and is a half sister to double group 2 winner heartache

    Grand prix de saint cloud

    Marmelo 12/1 £5 win

both gosden horses have big points to prove after career low performances

Morgan la Faye has looked good this season so far but she is facing much better horses today and don’t think there is any value in her price

So I came down on marmelo who looks a big price to me on form, the worry would be that they go slow like they often do in France and it becomes a speed test, but at 12/1 that is factored into the price

    Coral eclipse

    Enable 3/1 £10 win (

Couldn’t not back her at that price, just dont know anything about the site so hopefully they pay out despite obviously having the wrong price up

Shouldn’t be an issue as it’s not a big bet

First though she has to win, can worry about the rest after shes crossed the line

    This weeks £5 free bet

Fairyland 16/1 £5 win July cup

She was a big eye catcher thrown into a strong group 1 over 5 furlongs at ascot

The 6 furlongs should suit better and hopefully she turns up
