Great interview with the jockey
hopefully Aidan talks sense tooCharles Darwin to conquer the World
July 6, 2024 at 15:48 #1701048He was hanging wasn’t he towards the rail? Was that just me. I dont think that was the jockeys decision. Obviously wouldn’t mention that in interview, not the best sales ploy.
July 6, 2024 at 15:48 #1701049White Birch would’ve beaten him comfortably today.
July 6, 2024 at 15:50 #1701051Maybe a US campaign on fast dirt will be more suited as opposed to chancing an Autumn campaign in Europe on ground that is likely going to turn soft.
Good horse to win on ground he didn’t like but clearly not the all world horse that Aidan would like us all to believe he is.
Probably fortunate that the field wasn’t much stronger and will this encourage more to take him on in the future rather than avoid him?
July 6, 2024 at 15:50 #1701052Someone in the media has to say something about it always being the fault of the jockey or trainer.
Value Is EverythingJuly 6, 2024 at 15:54 #1701053Real shame White Birch didn’t show.
The more I know the less I understand.
July 6, 2024 at 15:55 #1701055Did ITV interview Aidan.??
I didn’t see itCharles Darwin to conquer the World
July 6, 2024 at 15:56 #1701057COT is a Justify x Together Forever, doesn’t really scream run me in a bog. Ground totally to blame but now has a 10f Soft ground G1 in the bag. Hoover the 8s for the BCC.

——————————True LD, although this below form victory and hanging right handed might even encourage them to announce COT is injured and won’t run again. In order to protect the hype / his bloodstock value.
Value Is EverythingJuly 6, 2024 at 15:58 #1701060No interview with him Nathan.

July 6, 2024 at 15:59 #1701061Horses aren’t machines…
Holies getting excited that City of Troy was being pushed along… Geez was he expect to just win in Harchibald fashion.
His strength is his stamina and the going was against him it seems.
Maybe it was the horses fault? and not the trainer or jockey? The horse won and looked have a bit up his sleeve in conditions that didn’t suit
Think too much gets made of not winning by 10 lengthsCharles Darwin to conquer the World
July 6, 2024 at 16:00 #1701064He was probably on a hiding to nothing in fairness to him. If he bolts up we all say so what its a weak Group 1 (which it was). Hes got the job done and hopefully next time hes facing a stronger field on better ground so we can see what hes made of.
July 6, 2024 at 16:02 #1701065The second had that one good bit of form, but that was underwhelming for a 1/4 shot considering all the surrounding hype. I would be surprised if they persist at that trip.
As for See The Fire I am not sure what she achieved, if much at all. She was yanked back, and raced quite freely, before failing to really pick up in the straight. Maybe quicker ground would see her in a better light? Would the Nassau come too quickly?
July 6, 2024 at 16:03 #1701066Has to be heavy odds on to be retired
July 6, 2024 at 16:10 #1701070It’s not just not winning by 10 lengths though is it, Nathan.
Has to be judged by what he’s done before.
In the derby and all his victories before today he’s travelled well, ran straight and gone clear.
Here he did not travel well, hung and did not go clear. If it was the way he’s won other races then fair enough… but it just isn’t.Could be the ground, but we’ll see.
Value Is EverythingJuly 6, 2024 at 16:13 #1701073Well I’d say it was better than the guineas run where if no one was to blame what went wrong?

July 6, 2024 at 16:14 #1701074Why judge him on what he’s done before? Its a different day, different course, different conditions, different trip
