Regarding tomorrow’s race, I think if anything is going to upset the Churchill apple cart it will be seven heavens. it has that feel about it, with all the attention on Frankel in his first season as a sire.
In fact if you look at his Ascot win, then he travelled very well there, very much like Frankel used to. If he travels like that in the Dewhurst he’ll be a back to lay in running if nothing else, especially if Churchill puts up one his tardy in-running displays.
Fingers crossed Judge.
Cracking value @ 9/1.
If settling has a good chance of upsetting the favourite. Shame it’s not an 8 runner race.Value Is EverythingOctober 8, 2016 at 01:04 #1266107After the ballydoyle duo thrashed all comers yesterday hard to work up enthusiasm to pick something to beat Churchill. Hopefully we do get a top horse coming out of the dewhurst and it gives big pointers to next seasons classics.

October 8, 2016 at 14:18 #1266234Churchill far too short in my opinion. I took the 9/1 on South Seas. Lovely powerful stride on him. Wouldn’t mind seeing Frankel getting his first Group 1 as a sire in the race he did as a racehorse though.
October 8, 2016 at 15:42 #1266253Well done Botchy for picking out Lancaster bomber.
Channel four going into hyperbole over that win. Not sure it was deserving of that.
Ryan Moore said “He was always going to win” But didn’t look like that in-running. He definitely hit a flat spot and if something can emerge from the racing post trophy (although doubtless will be won by another O’Brien inmate, zzzz) then the guineas is not wide open but the door is definitely ajar. In fact even if nothing does I wouldn’t say the 2000 is bubble wrapped for Churchill, although clearly he is going to improve for the extra furlong as all he does is find and stay.
October 8, 2016 at 15:54 #1266254Given the pace, I thought he was very impressive and won with plenty in hand. A fast run Guineas will see him very hard to beat. He looks more physically imposing each time I see him and has such a powerful, driving stride.

TOP PICKING BOTCHY !!!

Very impressive? He looked laboured to me Joe. I think he’s vulnerable, especially as we can’t be certain he’ll go on at three. Aiden described him as a “mature” type and more imposing than any two year old they’ve had. He could just be a two year old that’s a long way ahead of his rivals who might catch him up next year.
October 8, 2016 at 16:11 #1266262125/1 e/w !!!!….First class pick Botchy
October 8, 2016 at 16:16 #1266263He’s a bigger and better version of Gleneagles (and not ground dependent)
October 8, 2016 at 17:38 #1266276All about opinions, Judge. He had to switch at a critical time then had to regain rhythm and momentum. But for that he’d have won farther. Was only really getting going in the last hundred yards, to my eye. Pricked his ears after the line while those around him looked done in. Definitely wants a decent pace and no doubt ‘the lads’ will ensure he gets one in the big tests.
Shame about Frankie’s mount pulling so hard so long (almost 4 furlongs). His race was over after a furlong. can understand KS saying might as well let him crack on. I suppose Frankie might be thinking that if he lets him off the hook once, the horse learns that if he pulls hard enough he can get away.

I thought that was visually his most impressive performance, particularly as he challenged out wide. That said several of the supposed contenders were either not very good or bombed.
As I said before I do think he might have enjoyed a significant physical advantage this season. From where I am looking you could easily mistake him for a three-year-old. Six runs seems quite a lot for a two-year-old with obvious Classic pretensions. It wouldn’t surprise me if we are looking at another Dawn Approach.

Best Wishes
SilkOctober 8, 2016 at 18:53 #1266288Thanks, you just can’t discount anything AOB runs. Swear to god i was going to put up the S/F and bottled it after yesterdays result.
Just checked the FC nearly 50-1 . Bangs head against wall !

My thoughts as well. Think he could be another giants causeway and will be very hard to beat over 10 f. Whether he will stay 12f is anybody guess.
October 8, 2016 at 19:34 #1266292If he does keep strengthening he will be some racehorse. Seems to be a typical O’Brien 2yo improving with every race. may is a long way away but he looks likely to be as good at 3.
